INTRODUCTION Congratulations on your purchase of the PALMER ABO! The ABO is a simple passive Output switcher. This useful little tool will open a whole new world of options when working with line or mic signals on stage or in the studio. APPLICATION The Palmer PEABO is a balanced switcher with one input and two outputs. This makes it the perfect choice for routing a signal to one of two dif- ferent inputs.

• Onstage,switchyourvocalmikebetweenFOHandmonitormixingdeskso youcancommunicatewiththemonitormixerorthebandinprivate.

• Twodifferentsoundconfigurations.Supposeyousometimeswantadif- ferenteffectorsoundonyourmicrophone,forexample,a“telephoneef- fect”ormoreHall.RunbothoutputsofthePEABOtotwochannelsofthe mixingdesk-nowyoucanconfigurethesedifferentlyandtogglebetween the two channels onstage whenever you want.

• YoucanalsousethePEABOtoaddresstwodifferentroomsorzonesse- lectively. Switchingiscontrolledbyasturdylatchingfootswitch;theselected outputisindicatedbyaredLED.Slideswitchesmakeitpossibletose- lectvariousattenuationlevels(6,15or21dBattenuation)individually for both outputs. A ground lift helps to avoid ground loop hum. Housedinasolidmetalcasewithextendededgesforoptimumprotection of the in- and outputs. Pre-drilled holes permit simple and secure mount- ing in a rack or on a pedal board. The PEABO’s strictly passive circuitry means that it requires no power supply at all. A 9-volt block battery is only required to power the LED.

WiththeABOyoucaninterconnect two mains powe red devices (for example2mixers).Thisconstel- lation can induce a ground loop hum.Shouldthisoccur,usethis switch to lift the ground of the second output.
