Frequently Asked Questions - 1431 Cloer

How to preheat the Cloer 1431 waffle maker?
Set the regulator to position 1. When the control light goes out, the appliance is hot and ready to use. Avoid preheating at a higher level to prevent overheating the coating.
How to adjust the browning level of waffles?
After preheating, turn the regulator to a low level for light waffles, or to a higher level for more golden waffles. The first waffle may not exactly match the setting.
Do I need to grease the non-stick plates?
No, the plates are non-stick. Only grease if you use cornstarch or milk, to prevent waffles from sticking.
How to clean the waffle maker?
Clean the appliance while still hot with kitchen paper. To finish, wipe the plates with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not use sharp objects.
Why is there smoke during first use?
Manufacturing residues may burn off during the first few minutes. Ensure good ventilation during the initial heating. The first two waffles are not suitable for consumption.
What size dough balls to use?
Form 9 walnut-sized balls (about 3 cm in diameter). Dust your hands with flour. If the first waffles indicate an inappropriate size, adjust.
How to know if the waffle is cooked?
The red control light goes out and the green light comes back on. This indicates that the cooking process is complete.
Can I use metal objects to remove waffles?
No, do not use sharp objects like metal knives or forks, as this would damage the non-stick coating.
What is the required electrical voltage?
The appliance operates on a domestic mains socket of 230 V, 50 Hz. Check that your mains supply matches.
How to benefit from the manufacturer warranty?
Register your appliance within 6 months of purchase on the website cloer.eu/guarantee to benefit from the manufacturer warranty.

ATTENTION! Appliance becomes hot. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the handles or the operating elements.

Baking

  • After the preheating the browning regulator can be adjusted as desired. Select a low setting for light waffles or a high setting for dark waffles. The first waffle does not exactly correspond to the browning level selected, for this reason, you should wait until the following waffle before changing the browning level.
  • First, form nine small walnut-sized balls out of the dough. This is best done with floury hands.
  • Place the balls in the baking tin.
  • Close the appliance and press down the handles. This way, the dough will spread even over the surface. Once the red light is on you do not need to continue pressing anymore. The filling process should be quick, otherwise the waffle will not be even browned in both sides.
  • Shortly after having filled in the dough the green control lamp goes out. The red control lamp lights up.
    • After termination of the baking process the red control lamp goes out and the green one lights up again
  • The waffle is ready.
  • You can tell whether your balls were too big or too small from the first cinnamon waffles. You will very quickly identify the correct size.

  • Greasing before baking is unnecessary for non-stick baking surfaces if you follow our recipes.
