How to manually set the time and date on the CK 1927 clock?

Press and hold the SET button until the display shows 'BEEP ON'. Use ▲ or ▼ to enable or disable the beep, then press SET. Then, successively set the time zone (00 for Europe), hour, minutes, year, month, day, and language using ▲/▼ and SET to confirm each step. Finally press SET to finish.

How to turn the alarm on or off?

Press the ALARM button once or twice to select AL1 or AL2. Then press ▲ to toggle between 'ON' and 'OFF'. The corresponding alarm icon appears on the screen when the function is active.

How to use the snooze function?

When the alarm sounds, briefly press the z/z² touch button. The alarm stops and the z² symbol flashes. After the set duration (default 5 minutes), the alarm sounds again. You can repeat this process. To deactivate snooze, press any side button or hold z/z² for a few seconds.

What should I do if the displayed time is incorrect or the DCF77 signal is not received?

First check the location: place the clock near a window, away from electronic devices. Initiate a manual reception by pressing the REC button. If reception is still poor, set the time manually (see question 1). If the problem persists, remove the batteries and reinsert them.

How to change the batteries of the clock?

When the display becomes dim or disappears, open the battery compartment by pressing the closure tab. Replace the two used batteries with new LR6 (AA) 1.5 V batteries, respecting polarity (+/-). Close the cover until it clicks. Dispose of used batteries at an appropriate collection point.

What should I do if the screen displays 'HH' or 'LL' for temperature?

These messages indicate that the measured temperature exceeds the device's operating range (-10 °C to +50 °C). 'HH' means above +50 °C, 'LL' below -10 °C. Place the clock in a more temperate environment and wait for it to stabilize.

How to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour display?

Press the ▲ button in normal mode. The display toggles between 24-hour and 12-hour format (with AM/PM indicators).

How to change the temperature unit from °C to °F?

Press the button marked °C/°F (or the ▲ button depending on the model) to switch between the two units. The displayed value changes immediately.

The clock does not ring in the morning, what should I check?

Make sure the alarm function is activated (bell icon visible). Check that the set day corresponds to the chosen alarm period (M-F, S-S, or M-S). If the alarm is set to M-F but it's Saturday, it will not ring. Press ALARM to check the status and adjust if necessary.

How to reset the clock to factory settings?

Remove the batteries from the compartment, wait a few seconds, then reinsert them respecting polarity. The clock goes into reception mode and searches for the DCF77 signal. If needed, then proceed with manual setting of time and date.

This XL radio-controlled wall clock is used to display the time. It also displays other data (e.g. the room temperature) and has an alarm function.

The item is designed for private use and for use in dry areas.

Safety

• This product may be used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the risks that may arise.
  Children must not play with the product.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8 years of age or older and are being supervised.
• Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. Therefore, keep the clock and battery out of the reach of small children. If a battery has been swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately.

DANGER for children

• Keep packaging material away from children. There is a risk of choking if swallowed. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads.

RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion

• There is a risk of explosion if the batteries are replaced improperly. Replace the batteries only with the same or equivalent battery type. Pay attention to the "Technical data".

• Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or short-circuited. Otherwise, there is an increased risk of explosion and leakage; furthermore, gases may escape!

• Avoid contact of the battery fluid with skin, eyes, and mucosa. In case of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor.

BEWARE of material damage

• Protect the clock from strong shocks and vibrations.

• Remove the batteries from the clock, if these are used up or you are not going to use the clock for a long period. You will thus avoid damage that may result from leakage of battery acid.

• When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) .
• Do not subject the batteries to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing them on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage!
• Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery.
• Do not make any modifications to the product. Only allow repairs to be carried out by a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out improperly can considerably endanger the user.

For use, you will need two LR6 (AA), 1.5V batteries.

1. Push the locking tab down slightly and remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert 2 batteries of the type LR6 (AA) / 1.5 V as depicted on the bottom of the battery compartment. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) .
3. Replace the battery compartment cover. The locking tab must snap audibly into place.

Once the batteries are inserted, the clock switches to the receiving mode, see next chapter.

Receiving the time signal

When you insert the batteries into the radio-controlled clock, all the indicators are displayed for a moment followed by several beeps. The measured room temperature and humidity will appear on the display shortly thereafter.

The device then switches to receiving-mode, during which the number of radio waves indicates the quality of the reception: The more radio waves shown on the display, the better is the reception.

As soon as the signal has been received in sufficient strength, the display also shows

the time and
the current date and the day of the week.

The radio-controlled clock automatically switches to receiving mode several times every night. During this process, the displayed time is compared with that received from the time signal transmitter and, if necessary, corrected.

If a sufficiently strong signal has not been received, the radio-controlled clock will cancel the receiving process after a few minutes and the radio tower symbol goes out. The receiving process is started again at a later point in time.

In this case, the time proceeds as usual (beginning with the start time of "00:00").

Checklist when data is missing on the display

No data display from the time signal transmitter

1. Check whether the location of the radio-controlled clock is suitable, see "Choosing a location".

2. Restart reception manually, see "Manually starting signal reception".

3. Wait until the radio-controlled clock automatically switches to receiving mode at a later point in time. The reception is usually better at night.

4. Manually perform the settings if reception is not possible at your location, see "Setting the time and date manually".

Setting the time and date manually

• If there is more than approx. 20 seconds between two pushes of a button, the setting process automatically ends and you will have to repeat it.

• If you press and hold th or buttons, the displayed values will be increased or decreased more quickly.

• Press and hold down the button until "BEEP ON" appears on the display.

• Use the or button to set whether a beep should follow each press of a button ("ON" = default setting) or switch this function off ("OFF").
• Press in order to save the settings. "00" flashes in the display for the time zone you are in ("00" is the default setting for the European mainland).
• Proceed as previously described:

-Press the or button to set the desired value.

-Press to save a setting.

Starting signal reception of the time signal manually

If the radio signal symbol to the left is no longer displayed, the radio signals from the time signal transmitter are no longer being received. The time indicator nevertheless continues precisely.

-Press the button. The signal reception is thus started manually.

Pay attention to the following:

• If the reception was not successful, the reception symbol fades out after a few minutes and the time on the display continues normally.
• Upon successful signal reception, the radio-controlled clock adjusts itself to the time of the time signal transmitter. If you have already made manual time and date settings, they will be adjusted automatically.

Choosing a location

NOTE on material damage

• Protect the radio-controlled clock from dust, shocks, extreme temperatures, direct sunlight and moisture. Only place the radio-controlled clock in a dry, closed room.

• Maintain distance from TV sets, computers, and monitors. Base stations of cordless telephones should also not be in the immediate vicinity of the radio-controlled clock.

• Depending on your location, it may occur in rare individual cases that the radio-controlled clock receives signals from another time signal transmitter or even alternately from two time signal transmitters. This is not a fault in the device. In this case, change the location for the radio-controlled clock.
• The weather, e.g. a heavy storm, can cause interference with the reception.
• Temporary shutoffs of the transmitter can sometimes happen, e.g. because of maintenance work.

Setting up/hanging the radio-controlled clock

The radio-controlled clock has a hanging loop on the back and a two-part fold out support foot.

• Hang or place the radio-controlled clock as near as possible to a window. Here, the reception will generally be best.

About the time signal transmitter DCF77

This radio-controlled clock receives its radio signals from the time signal transmitter DCF77. This broadcasts the precise and official time of the Federal Republic of Germany on the long-wave frequency of 77.5kHz .

The transmitter is located in Mainflingen near Frankfurt am Main and, with its range of up to 2000km , supplies the majority of radio-controlled clocks in western Europe with the necessary radio signals.

As soon as the radio-controlled clock is supplied with power, it switches to receiving mode and searches for the signal from the transmitter DCF77. If the time signal is received in sufficient strength, the display shows the date, time and day of the week. The radio-controlled clock switches on several times a day and synchronises the time with the radio signal from the transmitter DCF77. In the event the signal is not received, e.g. during a strong storm, the device continues to run precisely and then switches to receiving mode again at the next scheduled time.

Alarm

The device offers the possibility of setting two alarm times independently of each other. For each alarm time you can specify the days on which it should be active:

• Monday to Friday ("M-F" display) or
  Saturday to Sunday ("S-S" display) or
  Monday to Sunday ("M-S" display).

Setting the alarm time

• If there is more than approx. 20 seconds between two pushes of a button, the setting process automatically ends and you will have to repeat it.

Both alarm times are set in the same way.

1. Keep the button pressed for a few seconds until "AL 1" appears on the display and the wake-up hour display flashes.

Switching the alarm function on/off

1. Press the button once or twice to select the respective alarm ("AL1" or "AL2").
2. Use to set the display to "ON". The display shows e.g. (depending on the selected setting). The alarm function is activated.

To disable the alarm function, proceed as described and then use to set the display to "OFF" with the alarm function enabled.

Waking up

At the set time, you will be woken by an alarm signal, which will become more intense as the waking time increases.

Interrupting the alarm for 24 hours

• Keep the z / z^2 sensor field pressed for a few seconds or press any button to interrupt the alarm.

After 24 hours, the alarm will be triggered again.

Auto-stop function

If you do not press a button, the alarm switches off automatically after 2 minutes. After 24 hours, the alarm will be triggered again.

Repeat alarm (snoopze function)

-Briefly tap the sensor field once when the alarm signal sounds.

The alarm signal will be muted and the bell symbol or and will flash on the display.

The device will switch on again and wake you up again according to the setting made (default setting: 5 minutes). This procedure can be repeated multiple times.

To disable the snooze function, press any button on the side or keep [3]z^2 pressed for a few seconds during the snooze phase. The alarm is then only triggered again in 24 hours.

Illuminating the display

• Tap the / ^2 sensor field once to enable the display backlight for approx. 8 seconds.

Changing the time display

-To toggle between the 12 and 24 hour formats, press. In the 12 hour format, morning hours are indicated as "AM" and afternoon hours are indicated as "PM".

Change temperature unit

• Press the button to display the temperature in ^ Celsius or ^ Fahrenheit.

Switching between summer and winter time

Switching between summer and winter time, or vice versa, takes place automatically with good time signal reception.

When daylight saving time is active, the display shows "DST" (Daylight Saving Time).

Resetting the radio-controlled wall clock to defaults

Reset the clock to defaults if the display shows unusual and/or obviously incorrect values.

1. Remove the batteries from the battery compartment and wait a moment.
2. Reinsert the batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity of the batteries (+ / - )
3. Proceed as described in the chapter "Receiving the time signal".

Changing the battery

If the display fades out or shows be sure to change the batteries completely.

• Proceed as described in the "Start-up" section.

• Only use the type of battery that is specified in the "Technical data".
  Always change all batteries at the same time.
• Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally appropriate way (see "Disposal").

NOTE on material damage

-Do not immerse the clock in water or other liquids.

• Never use harsh, scouring or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to clean the clock. Otherwise, the surface could be scratched.

• Dust the clock if necessary with a soft, dry cloth. The glass can also be cleaned with commercially available glass cleaners.

Fault/Remedy

Fault Possible cause
The DCF77 signal for the time cannot be received.	Check the chosen location. Start the signal reception manually, if necessary. Adjust the time manually.
Temperature indication appears too high.	Check if the clock is exposed to direct sunlight.
The indicator is illegible, the function is unclear, or the values are obviously false.	Reset the clock to defaults.
The time differs exactly by one or two etc. hours.	You have probably set an incorrect time zone.
The display shows "HH" or "LL" instead of measured temperature values.	The values lie above or below the measurement range.
Humidity indication "19% RH" or "96% RH" appears permanently on the display.	The values are below the measurement range.
The alarm clock didn't ring.	Did you activate the correct alarm time? Check whether the wake-up day and setting ("M-F", "S-S" or "M-S") match.
