1. Spout with particle filter
ENGLISH IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions. Important:This appliance can be used by children over 8 years old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or with a lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and the risks involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised. Never leave the appliance and its cord unsupervised and within reach of children less than 8 years old or irresponsible persons, especially when it is plugged into the wall or when it is cooling down. ❑ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance. ❑ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. ❑ From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(*). Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified electrician(*) in order to avoid all danger. ❑ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions. ❑ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never put it in the dishwasher. ❑ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces. ❑ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment. ❑ Before cleaning or storing the appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down. ❑ Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.7 TKG JK 1040
❑ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance. ❑ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface. ❑ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it. ❑ If your type of appliance has a separate base or a detachable cord, remove them from the water cooker when filling it. If your appliance has a fixed cord, unplug it before filling it. ❑ Always fill between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark or the heating element might be damaged. Do not overfill the jug kettle as boiling water might overflow. ❑ When using the appliance, make sure the lid is closed correctly. Never raise the lid when the jug kettle is in use and when there are risks of hot water projection due to the bubbling. ❑ Be careful not to get burned by the hot steam that evaporates when the water is boiling and especially when opening the lid. ❑ Use only the base that is supplied with the jug kettle. ❑ Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system. ❑ Should the symbol be indicated on a certain surface, you need to be careful when handling the product. This symbol means “CAUTION, this surface may get very hot during use”. (*) Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. - Use the appliance for domestic purposes only and in the way indicated in these instructions.
- This appliance is intended to be used for domestic applications and similar applications such as : o Kitchen corners reserved for personnel in shops, offices and other professional environments. o Farms. o Hotels, motels, B&B’s and other environments with a residential character.
For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.
- Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it or before any operation.
- Open the lid and fill the jug with fresh water, paying attention not to fill under the minimum mark and above the maximum mark on the water level indicator.
- Close the lid by pressing it down until you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
- Put the jug onto the power base, plug into the wall socket and switch on by pressing the ON/OFF button. If it does not come on, check if the kettle is correctly positioned on the base and check if the base is plugged in.
- After pressing the ON/OFF button, "100" will appear. You can choose the temperature that you need by pressing the “+” or ”-“ button, in 5° steps from 40 to 95°C.
- DO NOT open the lid while the water is boiling. During the water boiling process you can choose the temperature with the decrease or increase button.
- When the water reaches the desired temperature, the LED display indicates the current temperature.
- The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling but you can stop the appliance any time by putting the switch in the off-position.
- For instant reboiling, wait until the water has cooled down and switch on the appliance again.
- If you want to switch on the keep warm function, press the ON/OFF switch and keep it pressed for 3 seconds. A beep will sound and the display will flash. You can choose a temperature between 40°C and 95°C in 5° steps by pressing the “+” or ”-“ button and press the ON/OFF switch again. The display keeps showing the actual water temperature and when the water temperature drops under the set temperature, the appliance begins to re-heat it. This programme keeps working for 2 hours then stops automatically.9 TKG JK 1040
RECOMMENDATION There are many kinds of tea leaves and each of them has its own taste and optimal water temperature and steeping time. The recommended temperature and steeping time you can find in below table: Kind of tea Recommended temperature Steeping time Number of infusions White tea 65 to 70℃ 1-2 minutes
Yellow tea 70 to 75℃ 1-2 minutes
- This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device which switches the appliance off if it is accidentally switched on without water.
- In this case, put the switch in off position and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then fill the jug kettle with cold water. This will reset the safety device.
- The kettle may then be used as normal.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
- To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- To remove scale from the inner walls and from the filter you can use a soft brush.
- Never use abrasive products.
- On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water. Filter
- Your appliance is provided with a filter. When you want to boil water, settle the filter first.
- The filter should be rinsed clean regularly. Descaling To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose. Make sure to use a type recommended for plastic kettles and follow the product's instruction manual carefully.TKG JK 1040

For this reason, as indicated by the symbol on the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.
