How to use the NCT1 tester?

Insert a 9V battery into the compartment, connect the cable to be tested to the RJ-45 or RG-58 connectors, then turn on the device. The LEDs indicate continuity and pair order.

What does a light that does not turn on mean?

This indicates a break or poor contact in the corresponding wire. Check the connectors and wiring.

Can I test telephone cables?

No, the NCT1 is designed only for RJ-45 (network) and RG-58 (coaxial) cables.

What battery to use?

Use a 9V alkaline battery type 6LR61 or 6F22.

How to know if a cable is crossover?

The tester indicates the pair order. If pairs 1-2 and 3-6 are reversed, the cable is crossover.
