You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner.

Safety information

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- Connect the appliance only to a correctly installed mains power socket supplying a mains voltage of 220 - 240V , 50/60Hz .
- Arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables to be replaced as soon as possible by a qualified technician or by our Customer Service Department to avoid the risk of injury.
- Remove the plug from the mains power socket in case of operating malfunctions and before you clean the appliance.
Always pull on the plug to disconnect the appliance from the mains; never pull on the power cable itself. - Do not kink or crush the power cable, and route the cable so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over.
- Make sure that the power cable does not become wet or moist during use. Route the cable in such a way that it cannot be crushed or damaged.
- To prevent risks, stop using the appliance immediately if it is damaged.
- Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance, and protect it from being damaged.
- Do not use extension cables - they will make it difficult to disconnect the appliance quickly in an emergency.
- Never touch the appliance, the power cable or the power plug with wet hands.
- Never submerge the appliance in liquids or never allow liquids to penetrate the appliance housing. Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. If any liquid gets into the housing, disconnect the appliance from the mains power socket immediately and have it repaired by a qualified technician.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- Unplug the appliance immediately after use. The appliance is completely free of electrical power only when unplugged.
- If the appliance is being used in the bathroom, disconnect the plug from the mains power socket after use, as the close proximity of water represents a hazard - even when the appliance is switched off.

Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers or other containers filled with water.
The proximity of water is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off. For additional protection, we recommend that you install a residual current circuit breaker with an activation power rating of no more than 30mA for the power circuit in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.

- Use only the supplied original accessories, since these have been optimised for interaction with the appliance. Other parts may not be adequately safe.
Never leave a switched-on appliance unsupervised. - Never place the appliance close to sources of heat, and always protect the power cable from damage.

- Do not operate the appliance if it has been dropped or is damaged in any way. Have the appliance checked and/or repaired by qualified technicians if necessary.
- Do not open the housing or attempt to repair the appliance yourself. This can lead to risks and also invalidates the warranty. Defective appliances should be repaired by authorized specialists only.
The appliance components can get hot during operation. Therefore, only touch the handle and the tip of the appliance. - This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are being supervised or have been instructed with regard to the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks. Do not allow children to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children, unless they are under supervision.
Unpacking
Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.
Remove all packaging material.

- Do not allow children to play with packaging materials. There is a risk of suffocation.
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for aspects of environmental friendliness and disposal, and they are therefore recyclable.

Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispos of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
NOTE
If possible, keep the original packaging during the warranty period so that the appliance can be packed properly for returning in the event of a warranty claim.
First use
Before you use the appliance, ensure that ...

the appliance is in working order,

all packaging materials have been removed.
Clean the appliance as described in "Cleaning and care".
Switching on/off / Selecting a heat setting
After you have plugged the appliance into the mains, you can switch it on with the level switch 6 and select the heat level:
- "0" The appliance is switched off, both LEDs 4/5 are off
- "1" for fine hair (the LED for fine air (level 1) ⑤ flashes)
- "2" for thick hair (the LED for thick air (level 2) 4 flashes)
After you have selected a heat level, the respective LED 4/5 starts to flash, indicating that the appliance is heating up.
As soon as the selected temperature is reached, the LED 4/5 lights up permanently.
Automatic switch-off
This appliance is fitted with an automatic switch-off system. After 30 minutes, the appliance will switch itself off automatically. After around 25 minutes, the LED 4 / 5 that was lit last starts to flash to inform you that the appliance is about to switch off automatically. If you want to continue using the appliance, switch it off for a moment and then back on again.
NOTE
The automatic switch-off is a safety function only and is not intended as a replacement for switching the appliance off properly using the level switch 6!
Styling - straightening
For straightening, the hair should be dry and free of styling products. This does not apply to products designed to promote the straightening process or protect the hair from the effects of heat.
The appliance is heated up to the desired level and the hair is combed and free of knots.
Separate individual strands.
Twist a strand around the styling brush ② and pull it down slowly (depending on the type of hair) from the roots to the tips. While doing so, curl the styling brush ② inwards a little.
■ Proceed the same way with the other strands.
Once you are finished styling, turn the level switch 6 to "0" and pull out the plug from the mains power socket.
Styling - curling
For styling, the hair should be dry or slightly damp and free of styling products. This does not apply to products that protect the hair from the effects of heat.
The appliance is heated up to the desired level and the hair is combed and free of knots.
Twist the end of the strand around the styling brush 2 and then roll the styling brush 2 upwards towards the hair roots so that the complete strand is rolled around the styling brush 2. Ensure that you touch the appliance only on the holding tip 1 and the handle. The styling brush 2 gets very hot.
Wait for 8-15 seconds (depending on the length and thickness of the hair).
Press the curl release button 3 and simultaneously pull the appliance out of the strand in a downwards direction. The styling brush 2 turns so that the strand can be unrolled easily.
■ Proceed the same way with the other strands.
Once you are finished styling, turn the level switch ⑤ to "0" and pull out the plug from the mains power socket.
Cleaning and care

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Before cleaning the appliance, always pull out the plug from the mains power socket. There is a risk of electric shock!

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
- Allow the appliance to cool fully before cleaning it. Risk of burns!
CAUTION - PROPERTY DAMAGE!
- Do not use any aggressive, abrasive or chemical cleaning agents! These could damage the upper surfaces of the appliance.
Remove any hair or lint from the bristles of the styling brush 2 with your fingers.
Clean the appliance only with a lightly moistened cloth.
■ Allow the appliance to dry completely before reuse or before putting it away.
Storage
You can also hang up the appliance by the hanger 7.
Store the appliance in a clean and dry location.
You can also keep the appliance in the travel bag 8. Thanks to the coating in the travel bag 8, it is possible to put the appliance away while it is still lukewarm.
Disposal of the appliance

Never dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of the European Directive 2012/19/EU (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the appliance via an approved disposal company or your municipal waste facility. Please observe the currently applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal facility if you are in any doubt.

This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.
Warranty conditions
The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our discretion. This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault and its time of occurrence.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such as switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.
Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:
Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 12345) available as proof of purchase.
You will find the item number on the type plate, an engraving on the front page of the instructions (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the appliance.
If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
■ You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
