USER MANUAL GGRP MIELE
Operating instructions
This griddle plate must only be used on the PowerFlex zone of your Miele induction hob.
Never use power level 9 or the Booster when heating up the griddle plate or when grilling food on it.
Cooking oils and fats burn very quickly at high temperatures. The resultant smoke is a health hazard. Burnt on oil and fat leaves a tar-like residue that will eventually become impossible to remove and will impair the anti-stick properties of the surface. Only use cooking oil that has a high flash point, such as safflower oil, rapeseed oil and sunflower oil.
Oils and fats can ignite if allowed to overheat. Never leave the griddle plate unattended whilst it is being used. Never attempt to put out oil or fat fires with water. Extinguish the flames carefully with a lid or fire blanket.
Metallic or sharp objects will damage the non-stick coating. Only use utensils on it that are made of plastic or wood. Small scratches on the surface are normal and you can continue to use the griddle plate as usual.
Particles of dirt or spices can cause scratches on the ceramic glass if they get underneath the griddle plate. Make sure the underside of the griddle plate is clean before placing it on the ceramic glass surface.
The griddle plate and the handles get hot. Protect your hands with heat-resistant pot holders or gloves. Do not let them get wet or damp. Heat transfers through damp and wet material more quickly with the risk of scalding or burning yourself.
Disposal of the packing material
The packaging is designed to protect the appliance from damage during transportation. The packaging materials used are selected from materials which are environmentally friendly for disposal and should be recycled.
Recycling the packaging reduces the use of raw materials in the manufacturing process and also reduces the amount of waste in landfill sites.
Cleaning for the first time
Before using for the first time, clean the griddle plate with a solution of warm water and a little washing-up liquid applied with a sponge.
Grilling
Place the griddle plate on the PowerFlex cooking zone.
Heat the griddle plate for 2-5 minutes on power level 8.
Turn the food several times during grilling.
Tips for grilling
- Pat damp food dry with kitchen paper towel before cooking to prevent it spitting.
- To prevent food drying out, do not season with salt until after it has been grilled.
- We recommend marinating food for grilling. This will improve the flavour of the food. Only use oil or fat with a high flash point.
- Use power level 2-3 for keeping food warm.
- You can cook without oil or fat if wished because the griddle plate has an anti-stick coating.

Danger of burning!
Allow the griddle plate to cool down until it is safe to touch before cleaning it.
The anti-stick coating will suffer damage if handled with sharp tools or aggressive cleaning agents. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard brushes and sponges to clean it.
The griddle plate can be cleaned in the dishwasher. We recommend cleaning it by hand because the coating will become dull after prolonged cleaning in a dishwasher.
