Frequently Asked Questions - SIM 4622 BEKO

Why isn't the soleplate of my Beko SIM 4622 iron heating up?
Check that the appliance is properly plugged in and that the temperature setting dial is not on the Min position. Turn it clockwise to the steam zone.
What should I do if my iron does not produce steam?
Fill the water tank to the Max level (see §3.3). Make sure the steam setting dial is not in the 'no steam' position: set it to a steam zone.
Why are the steam shot and vertical steam not working?
These functions may be temporarily unavailable if used too frequently. Hold the iron horizontally while ironing and wait a moment. Also check that the soleplate is hot enough: set the temperature to the steam zone.
Water is leaking onto my clothes during ironing, why?
The water tank lid (7) may not be closed properly. Close it correctly. If using the steam shot, ensure the temperature is high enough (steam zone).
White residues are coming out of the soleplate, what should I do?
These are limescale deposits. Use the self-cleaning (descaling) function one or more times (see §4.2). For future ironing, mix tap water and drinking water.
How do I clean the soleplate of my iron?
Wait for the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a slightly damp soft cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaner. Never use gasoline, solvent, or hard brush.
How do I descale the Beko SIM 4622 iron?
Unplug the appliance, fill the water tank. Plug it back in, set the temperature to Max. When the indicator light goes out, unplug. Hold the iron horizontally over the sink and hold the descaling button (4) pressed until empty. Wipe the soleplate after cooling.
Can I use tap water in my iron?
Yes, but if the water is very hard, mix it with drinking water. Use the descaling function regularly (every 2-3 weeks).
How do I store the iron after use?
Unplug it, let it cool completely. Empty the water tank. Store it in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children.
What should I do if the iron continues to leak water after cooling?
You may have placed the iron horizontally with water in the tank. Empty the water tank completely.
