7. Power cord and plug

• Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete.

• Place the appliance on an even, non-slippery and heat resistant surface.

• Fullyunwindthepowercord(7)andconnecttheappliance to a properly installed wall socket. Note:Thecookingplates(5)haveaprotectivecoating.To remove the protective layers on the heating elements, heat up the cooking plates (without food) for a few minutes. This could cause a slight build-up of smoke and odour. This doesn’t cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated! After this preheating process your Sandwich Maker 3 in 1 is ready for operation. Let it completely cool down and clean it as described under Cleaning and Care.

Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and

babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation. Exchanging the cooking plates Always make sure that the appliance is unplugged and completely cooled down. Risk of burns!

• Toremovethecookingplates(5),pressdowntherelease button (6) and slide it forward.

• Toinsertthecookingplates(5),inserttheprongsofthe cooking plates into the drilling holes of the appliance and make sure they click into place.Instruction Manual ENGLISH

Operation Your Sandwich Maker 3 in 1 can toast sandwiches, bake Belgian Waffles or broil foods. Always make sure to insert the respective cooking plates. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Tip: Prepare all ingredients in advance before switching on the appliance. Toasting Sandwiches

1. Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket.

2. Both indicator lights (red/green) (2) light up and the

heating process starts.

3. As soon as the necessary temperature is reached the

green indicator light (2) will go off and the red indicator light stays on. Your Sandwich Maker 3 in 1 is now ready for operation.

4. Open the lid (1) of the appliance by pulling the fastener (4)

at the handle (3) upwards.

5. Place your prepared sandwich into the sandwich maker.

Tip: To guarantee a even browning process grease either the toasting plates with some oil / butter or butter the outside of the resp. bread or toast slices.

6. Close the lid (1) carefully until the fastener (4) locks into

place. You will hear a click sound. Your sandwich is now being toasted. Attention: Never try to close your appliance forcefully. Remove some of the toppings in case that the appliance22 cannot be closed. The toast slices should not be bigger than the toasting plates.

7. After 4 – 5 minutes your sandwich will be ready. Open the

appliance and check whether your sandwich is toasted according to your liking. 8.To remove your sandwiches use a wooden or plastic spatulatoavoiddamagetothenon-stickcoatingofthe plates.

9. If you wish to prepare more sandwiches follow steps 3 –

10. After use, disconnect the appliance from the mains and

let it completely cool down. Baking waffles

1. Follow steps 1 – 4 as described under Toasting

Sandwiches and make sure that you have applied some butter or oil to the waffle plates (5b).

2. Fill approx. 2 – 3 table spoons of batter into the middle

of the lower waffle plate. Make sure not to put too much batter, in order to avoid overflowing.

3. Close the lid (1) carefully and do not close the fastener

(4). 4.The baking process lasts approx. 7 - 8 minutes, depending on the thickness, content of the waffle batter and of course your liking 5.Follow steps 8 – 10 as described under Toasting Sandwiches. For a better result!

Recipe suggestions Belgian Waffles (Gaufres de Liège) -400gwheatour -160mllukewarmmilk -2eggs -150gcoarsesugar -50gsugar -1pinchofsalt -½packetdryyeast -100gbutter,roomtemperature -1vanillabean,core Preparation: Combine the wheat flour, dry yeast, salt and sugar, properly. Add the eggs, butter and core of the vanilla bean. Stir in the lukewarm milk until the batter is smooth. In order for the dough to rise, leave it to rest for approx. 45 minutes. Before starting the baking process knead in the coarse sugar. Preheat the appliance and bake small amounts of the batter. Delicious! If you prefer them with a chocolate icing, just dip half of the waffle into melted chocolate. Yum! Classic Waffles Ingredients: -125gbutter -100gsugar -1packetVanillasugar -4eggs -250gour -1tablespoonbakingpowder -200mlmilk24 Preparation: Separate the eggs . Beat whites until moderately stiff, set aside. Mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and egg yolk until smooth. Alternatively add flour/baking powder and milk. Fold egg whites into the mixture. To add additional flavor, add less milk and 1 table spoon of vanilla or rum extract. However, be careful when adding liquids, as batter should not be too thin. Bake waffles following the above instructions. Dust with icing sugar before serving. Broiling Perfect for broiling steaks, chops, Panini, etc.

Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance, disconnect it from the mains and let it completely cool down. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock! Clean the appliance with a moistened soft cloth. Remove the cooled down cooking plates (5) as explained under “Exchange Cooking Plates” and clean them in warm water using some dishwashing detergent. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the appliance. Dry the entire appliance and all parts well after cleaning. Storage Disconnect the appliance from the mains and let it completely cool down. Keeptheapplianceawayfromchildrenandstoreitinaclean and dry place.
