Arendo's rice cooker enables you to cook rice or porridge according to your liking.

Check if the product and the components are intact and if the appliance is work- ing properly when using it for the rst me. Take the appliance out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Then rinse and dry the cooking vessel, rice spoon, steam cooking aachment and the measuring cup thoroughly. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Please wipe the outer body with a clean damp cloth. Then wipe it dry. Never immerse the outer body and the electronic parts in water or any other liquid! Do not operate the appliance unaended and check it for damage and proper assembly before using it each me.

Before using the rice cooker, please refer to the appropriate preparaons.

1. Use the provided measuring cup for measuring rice.

2. Wash the rice thoroughly and add it to the inner rice vessel. Make sure that

the rice is at and evenly distributed in the vessel, and then add water. The rao should be 1:1 (uncooked rice : water). Maximum number of cups of uncooked rice: 4 cups. Alternavely, you can also refer to the inner scale of the cooking vessel (7) depending on your taste. In this case, water is lled up to the rst mark for one cup of rice, and up to the second mark for two cups of rice.

3. Press the lid buon to open the lid.

4. Place the cooking vessel in the housing of the rice cooker and make sure

that the vessel is level and properly connected to the heang plate.

5. Close the lid and insert the plug into the socket.

Note: The quanty of water can be adjusted depending on personal preference and the type of rice used. Do not exceed the maximum quanty specied on the inner vessel to prevent overow. The maximum capacity for cooking rice porridge is 0.5 cups. Make sure that the outer surface of the inner rice vessel is dry, clean and that there are no foreign objects on the heang plate.

3. The indicator for RICE ashes for 5 seconds. When the indicator stops ash-

ing and you hear a beep, the display shows a rotang outer border.

4. 10 minutes before the currently selected funcon ends, the display shows

the remaining me (the me decreases / value becomes smaller). If the selected funcon completes the cooking process, you hear 5 "beeps" and the indicator for the selected funcon goes o and switches to keep-warm status. From this point, the display increments the me so that you can now see for how long the rice has been kept warm. Note: The cooking me for rice may vary depending on the rao of rice and wa- ter. The cooking me for rice is about 35 minutes. The cooking me depends on the quanty of rice being cooked. To prevent rice clumps from aecng the taste too much, it is advisable to sr the rice within 30 minutes to loosen it. The default keep-warm me is 12 hours. To turn o the keep-warm funcon, you can press the "WARM / CANCEL" buon. Note: If the rice needs to be kept warm, then the power cord must be connected and the lid should be in place. The keep-warm funcon will be terminated if the power cord is removed. The approximate quanes of rice and water depend on the type of rice. Sample quanes of rice and water: The supported quanes of 1 - 4 measuring cups of rice correspond to a poron of rice for 1-5 persons. For this purpose, please ll the provided measuring cup with rice, add it to the cooking vessel, and then ll water upto the rst mark for rice. Likewise, for two full measuring cups of rice, water has to be lled upto the second mark in the cooking vessel, or upto the third mark for 3 measuring cups of rice.

6.3 Claypot rice (rice casserole)

1. Follow the steps in chapter "6.1 Preparaon".

2. Press the "FUNCTION / SELECT" buon to select the "Claypot" funcon.

3. The indicator for "Claypot" ashes for 5 seconds. Once the indicator stops

ashing and you hear a beep, the rice begins to cook. The display shows a rotang outer border.29English

4. Aer some me you hear a beep for 1 minute. Press the funcon key to

stop the sound. Open the lid and add the remaining food ingredients into the inner vessel.

5. 10 minutes before the currently selected funcon ends, the display shows

If the selected funcon completes the cooking process, you hear 5 "beeps" and the indicator for the selected funcon goes o and switches to keep-warm status. 4. The indicator for "Porridge" ashes for 5 seconds. Once the indicator stops

ashing and you hear a beep, the porridge begins to cook. The display shows a rotang outer border.

5. As soon as the funcon starts, the display shows the remaining me (the

me decreases / value becomes smaller). When the porridge is ready, you hear 5 "beeps" and the "PORRIDGE" display indicator turns o and switches to keep-warm status. From this point, the display increments the me so that you can now see for how long the rice has been kept warm. Note: Do not exceed the maximum water level in the inner vessel as this could lead to overowing. The default keep-warm me is 12 hours. To turn o the keep- warm funcon, you can press the "Keep warm / Cancel" buon.30 English Note: If the porridge needs to be kept warm, then the power cord has to be con- nected and the lid should be in place. The keep-warm funcon will be terminated if the power cord is removed.

4. The indicator for "SOUP" ashes for 5 seconds. Once the indicator stops

ashing and you hear a beep, the soup begins to cook. The display shows a rotang outer border.

5. As soon as the funcon starts,, the display shows the remaining me (the

me decreases / value becomes smaller). When the soup is ready, you hear 5 "beeps" and the "SOUP" indicator turns o and switches to keep- warm status. From this point, the display increments the me so that you can now see for how long the rice has been kept warm. Note: Do not exceed the maximum water level in the inner vessel as this could lead to overowing. The default keep-warm me is 12 hours. To turn o the keep- warm funcon, you can press the "WARM / CANCEL" buon. Note: If the soup needs to be kept warm, then the power cord has to be connected and the lid should be in place. The keep-warm funcon will be terminated if the power cord is removed.

Cooking me: 30 minutes

1. Add the desired ingredients you want to steam to the steam cooking

aachment over the vessel.

2. Place the cooking vessel lled with water in the housing of the rice cooker

and make sure that the vessel is level and properly connected to the heang plate.31English

3. Then place the steam cooking aachment lled with ingredients on the

vessel and close the appliance lid.

4. Press the "FUNCTION / SELECT" buon to select the "STEAM" funcon.

5. The indicator for "STEAM" ashes for 5 seconds. Once the indicator stops

ashing and you hear a beep, the appliance begins steaming. The display shows a rotang outer border.

6. As soon as the funcon starts, the display shows the remaining me (the

me decreases / value becomes smaller).When the process is complete, you hear 5 "beeps" and the "STEAM" indicator turns o and switches to keep-warm status. From this point, the display increments the me so that you can now see for how long the item has been kept warm.

6.7 Keep-warm funcon

The keep-warm funcon is automacally started aer the cooking is completed. Alternavely, you can start the keep-warm funcon manually by pressing the "Keep Warm / Cancel" buon. To switch o the keep-warm funcon, press the buon again or disconnect the power cord from the socket.

Aer preparing, press the "FUNCTION / SELECT" buon and select the cooking funcon you wish to use. Once the indicator of the selected funcon starts ashing, press the "PRESET" buon and set the me. The default preset me is 4 hours, which is displayed on the control panel as "4:00". To change the preset me, press the "PRESET" but- ton. The preset me is increased each me by 30 minutes. Once the pre-selecon buon reaches the maximum preset me, it returns to the minimum preset me when the buon is pressed. The maximum "PRESET" me is 24 hours, the minimum "PRESET" me is 1 hour. When the "FUNCTION / SELECT" buon is pressed aer seng the "PRESET" me, the preset me does not work and you have to set it again. The delay funcon cannot be adjusted / selected aer the currently selected funcon has been started.32 English Once you set the preset me, leave it for 5 seconds and the preset starts working accordingly. Once the set me lapses, the selected cooking funcon starts working. For example, if it is 1:00 p.m and you want to start cooking at 6:00 p.m, then you need to set the "Delay" me to 5:00 hours. The rice cooker will start automacal- ly at 6:00 p.m. Aer the congured me, the rice cooker automacally switches to the keep- warm mode. To cancel the keep-warm mode, press the "Keep Warm / Cancel" buon (18) or disconnect the power cord from the socket.

7. Cleaning and Care

Before cleaning, please disconnect the power cord and allow the appliance to cool down completely. Clean the cooking vessel, lid, measuring cup and the rice spoon in warm water. Do not use any strong or aggressive cleaning agents or scouring agents. Please do not use steel wool or metal objects for cleaning to prevent damage.Then rinse all the parts thoroughly and allow them to dry. Wipe the outer body with a clean, damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Ensure that water does not get into the switching mechanism or onto the heang plate since there is a risk of electric shock. This appliance is not suitable for cleaning in dishwashers.33English
