Before use make sure to read all of the below instructions in order to avoid injury or damage, and to get the best results from the appliance. Make sure to keep this manual in a safe place. If you give or transfer this appliance to someone else make sure to also include this manual.

In case of damage caused by user failing to follow the instructions in this manual the warranty will be void. The manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages caused by failure to follow the manual, a negligent use or use not in accordance with the requirements of this manual.

1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
2. Children shall not play with the appliance.
3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
4. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
6. Regarding the instructions for cleaning the surfaces which come in contact with food or oil, please refer to the paragraph "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" of the manual.
7. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
8. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shop,

offices and other working environment; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.

1. Before inserting the plug into the mains socket, please check that the voltage and frequency comply with the specifications on the rating label.
2. If an extension cord is used it must be suited to the power consumption of the appliance, otherwise overheating of the extension cord and/or plug may occur. There is a potential risk of injuries from tripping over the extension cord. Be careful to avoid dangerous situations.
3. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.
4. Ensure that the mains cable is not hung over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and open flames.
5. Do not immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids. There is danger to life due to electric shock!
6. To remove the plug from the plug socket, pull the plug. Do not pull the power cord.
7. Do not touch the appliance if it falls into water. Remove the plug from its socket and send it to an authorized service center for repair.
8. Do not plug or unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
9. Never attempt to open the housing of the appliance, or to repair the appliance yourself. This could cause electric shock.
10. Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
11. This appliance is not designed for commercial use.
12. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
13. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.

14. Place the appliance on a stable, level surface from which it cannot fall off.

15. If you use products with non-stick surfaces, please make sure no birds are in the same room and that the room can be completely closed off and well-ventilated.

BEFORE INITIAL USE

1. Remove all packaging.
2. Clean the toasting surfaces with a soft damp cloth and then dry them.
3. Unwind the mains cable completely.

HOW TO CHANGE PLATES

1. Push and release the detaching latch to remove the cooking plate out.
2. Put the two ends of the desired cooking plate into the small holes of the main body, place the cooking plate down slowly. Meanwhile, push back the detaching latch with another hand and releasing it into the slot of the cooking plate.

Warning: always exchange the plates when the appliance has been unplugged and cooled down completely.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Note: use the grill plates for big sandwiches. Don't grill any meat and vegetables directly on the grill plates.

When initial use, the device may give off a slight odour. This is normal and will not last for long.

1. Connect the appliance to an appropriate socket. The power light will glow to indicate the appliance is switched on. The heating light will glow to indicate the appliance is heating.
2. Once the temperature is reached, then the heating light will turn off. It means the appliance is ready for use.
3. Open the appliance at the catch.
4. Pour the ingredients onto the lower plate. Be careful not to overfill.
5. Close the appliance, making sure that the catch is engaged.
6. During toasting the temperature regulating thermostat switches off and on again. The heating light also switches off and on again.
7. After completion of the baking process (approx. 3-6 minutes) open the catch and remove the food with the help of a flat wooden or plastic spatula. Never use sharp or metal objects (e.g. knives, metal spatulas, etc.) as this will damage the non-stick coating.

Belgian Waffles

Delicious waffles that are great for a snack, for dinner, or for breakfast.

Number of servings: 4

Time: 20 min

Ingredients

2 cups of wheat flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

12 cup granulated sugar

2 egg yolks

2 cups of milk

12 cup of melted butter

2 egg whites

Cloudberry jam, for serving

Whipped cream, for serving

This is how you do it:

1. Mix flour, baking soda, salt and sugar in one bowl.
2. Then mix egg yolk, milk, and the melted butter in another bowl, and mix the flour mix while stirring, so it won't lump.
3. Beat the egg whites hard, and put them in the mixture. Bake the waffles in a waffle iron and grease the griddle in between.
4. Serve the waffles with cloudberry jam and whipped cream.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Firstly, disconnect the mains plug!
2. Only clean when the appliance has completely cooled down.
3. Clean the appliance with a soft damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. For baked food residue, squeeze some warm water mixed with detergent over the food residue then clean with a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or place wet kitchen paper to moisten the food residue.
4. Never use abrasive cleaning agents or sharp objects (e.g. scrubbing brush or knife) for cleaning.
5. Caution: Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. There is danger to life due to electric shock!
