ENGLISH SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. General

1. This appliance can be used by children aged from

8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.

2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they

do not play with the appliance.

3. Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the

reach of children less than 8 years old.

4. WARNING: In order to ensure your children‘s

safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

5. If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired

by the Authorized Service Agent to avoid a hazard.EP 2500

6. Never pull on the cord when unplugging.

7. Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug,

or if it is not working properly.

8. Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.

• Do not handle the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.EP 2500

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not for commercial use.

• Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges.

• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.

• Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.

• Use only original spare parts.

• Always place the appliance on a flat, stable surface. INITIAL OPERATION

• Before using for the first time please clean the machine as described under “Cleaning” below.

Assembling and releasing the jug

• Assemble the pot by placing it over the guide mandrel and turning it in a clockwise direction until it locks in place.EP 2500

• Release the jug by turning it through in an anticlockwise direction on the base and lifting. Replacing and removing the conical press The small press is placed directly on the drive axle until it is flush with the filter.

1. Place the device on a firm and fl at surface. Position it such that it cannot tilt over.

2. Place the jug in the centre of the housing (position the recess in the jug over the drive axle)

and turn until tight.

3. Now insert the filter into the jug.

4. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz socket.

5. Halve the citrus fruit in the middle. Press the fleshy side of one half of the fruit on to the

conical press and keep pressed. The machine starts turning automatically. Results can be improved by releasing the pressure and then pressing again. CAUTION: Do not use the device for more than 5 minutes!

6. The juice now flows into the container (max. 0,5 l). The flesh of the fruit and the pips remain

7. Now take out the jug to pour the juice. You can also place the jug in the refrigerator with the

lid closed in order to store the juice.

8. Pull the plug out of the socket after use and clean the device as described below.

Mains lead take-up. The mains lead can be wound up on the base. IMPORTANT

• The citrus juices should be consumed as soon as possible.

• Never store such juices in metal containers. CLEANING

• Please remove the mains plug before the device is cleaned.

• Clean the lemon squeezer every time it is used.

• Clean the juice container, the filter, the two pressing cones and the transparent lid in soap and water.

• Pull the small pressing cone carefully out of the filter strainer in order to clean it. Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaners.

• Clean the outer motor casing and the wire with a slightly moist cloth and then wipe with a dry cloth.

• Never immerse the housing with motor in water!

Disposal of old electrical appliances. The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream.
