ROSIERES V 45 VPN - 1

Glass Ceramic Hobs in conformity with directives 73/23/CEE and 89/336/CEE.

  • The hob is hot when in use. Hob temperatures increase. Surface temperatures are high so be careful when touching the hob. Keep children away.
  • Never cook directly on the glass ceramic hob. Always use cookware.
  • Always place the pan in the centre of the unit you are cooking on.
  • Do not use the surface as a cutting board.
  • Do not slide cookware across the hob.
  • Do not store heavy items above the hob. If they drop onto the hob, they can cause damage.
  • Do not use the hob as a working surface.
  • Do not use the hob for storage of any items.
  • Aluminium foil and plastic pans mustn't be placed on heating zones.
  • When cooking with fats or oils, never leave surface unit unattended. Overheated fats or oils can quickly catch fire.
  • In the unlikely event of a surface crack appearing, do not use the hob. Immediately disconnect the hob from the electrical power supply and call the After Sales Service.
  • It is advisable not to stare directly at the halogen elements.

The glass ceramic hob is fitted with different surface units which are represented on the glass surface by the following abbreviations :

HL:high light zone

HAL: halolight zone

  • High light zone (HL):

controlled by a knob with 12 positions. A metallic conductor strip is spread uniformly over the whole surface unit. It is effective within 3 seconds and is suitable for steady, homogeneous and also sustained cooking.

  • Halelight zone (HAL) :

controlled by a knob with 12 positions. It is a combination of halogen (1/3) and high light (2/3). The temperature rise of this surface unit is extremely rapid. It is suitable for frying meat, rapid boiling and intensive cooking where a high-temperature is required for a very short period of time.

Using good quality cookware is critical to get the best performance from your hob.hob.

  • Always use good quality and with perfectly flat bottoms : uridigobokware w with perfectly flat bottoms will prevent hot spots that cause foods to stick. Thick metal pots and pans will provide an even distribution of heat.

  • Ensure that the base of the pot or plinsredthatasthat is toftthe pot bottom are dry. When filling pots with liquid or using a pan that has been stored in the refrigerator, make sure that the bottom of the pan is completely dry before placing it on the hob. This is to avoid staining the hob.

  • Use pans whose diameter is wide panaghbeodiphoteryiscover the surface unitide e : the size of the pan should be no smaller than the surface unit. If it is slightly wider the energy will be used at its maximum efficiency.

THE CHOICE OF COOKWARE

The following information will help you to choose cookware which will give good performance.

Staifteis Steell: highesscStaenended.

Especially good with a sandwich clad bottom. The sandwich bottom combines the benefits of stainless steel (appearance, durability and stability) with the advantages of aluminium or copper (heat conduction, even heat distribution).

Aluminium::heavyweightrecommended.

Good conductivity. Aluminium residues sometimes appear as scratches on the hob, but can be removed if cleaned immediately. Because of its low melting point, thin aluminium should not be used.

Cast Iron : usable, but not recommended. Poor performance. May scratch the surface.

Copper Belttown::heavy weight recommended.

Good performance, but copper may leave residues which can appear as scratches. The residues can be removed, as long as the hob is cleaned immediately. However, do not let these pots boil dry. Overheated metal can bond to glass hobs. An overheated copper pot will leave a residue that will permanently stain the hob.

RorreIaam/ienarell::Good performance only with a thin, flat, smooth bottom.

Glass-ceramic : not recommended. Poor performance. May scratch the surface.

Stoneware::usable, but not recommended. Poor performance. May scratch the surface.

  • Turn the control knob until the required cooking position is set.

It is recommended to heat the pan on "high" level until properly warmed up and then lower to desired cooking setting.

  • The residual heat indicator lights up when the surface unit temperature is 60^ and above. It will stay on, even if the unit is switched off, until the surface has cooled down.
It will switch off when the temperature of the surface falls below.
  • To switch off a surface unit, turn the corresponding knob back on the "0" setting.

The V 39 V ceramic hob has a surface unit with an extension, allowing the use of large sized cooking vessels.

ROSIERES V 45 VPN - 7

  • To switch on the 1500 W surface unit, turn the knob right to the requested setting.
  • To switch on the surface unit with extension, turn the knob right, pass over the setting 12, force the spring till the stop, then come back on the requested setting.

  • By setting the knob on "0", the surface unit will totally stop.

  • Positions: The examples below are intended as guidelines. When you become familiar with using your hob you will be able to work out settings to suit yourself.

  • Before carrying out any maintenance work on the hob, let it cool down.
  • Use only products (cream and scraper) specifically intended for cleaning glass ceramic surfaces. They are easily obtainable in the hardware department.

MAINTENANCE:

. Place a few drops of the specialised cleaning product on the surface.
. Rub any stubborn stains with a soft cloth or with slightly damp kitchen paper.
. Wipe with a soft cloth or dry kitchen paper until the surface is clean.

If there are still some stubborn stains:

. Place a few more drops of specialised cleaning fluid on the surface.
. Scrape with a scraper, holding it at an angle of 30^ to the hob, until the stains disappear.
. Wipe with a soft cloth or dry kitchen paper until the surface is clean.
1. Repeat the operation if necessary.

A FEW HINTS:

Frequent cleaning leaves a protective layer which is essential to prevent scratches and wear. Make sure that the surface is clean before using the hob again.

To remove marks left by water and limestone, use a few drops of white vinegar or lemon juice. Then wipe with absorbent paper and a few drops of specialised cleaning fluid.

The glass ceramic surface will withstand scraping from flat-bottomed cooking vessels, however, it is always better to lift them when moving them.

NB:

  • do not use a sponge which is too wet.
  • never use a knife or a screwdriver.
  • a scraper with a razor blade will not damage the surface, as long as it is kept at an angle of 30^ .
  • never leave a scraper with a razor blade within reach of children.
  • never use abrasive products or scouring powders.

To safely clean the metal slimline around the hob wash with soap and water, rinse, then dry with a soft cloth.

Surface units will not maintain a rolling boil or frying rate is not fast enough.

  • You must use pans which are absolutely flat. If light can be seen between the pan bottom and a straight edge, the surface unit will not transfer heat properly.
  • Pan bottoms should closely match the diameter of the surface unit selected.

Foods cook slowly.

  • Improper cookware being used. Pan bottoms should be flat, fairly heavy-weight and the same diameter as the surface unit selected.

Tiny scratches (may appear as cracks) or abrasions on cooktop glass surface.

  • Incorrect cleaning methods have been used, cookware with rough bottoms has been used, or coarse particles (salt or sand) were between the cookware and the surface of the cooktop. Use recommended cleaning procedures, be sure cookware bottoms and cookware are clean before use and use cookware with smooth bottoms. Tiny scratches are not removable but will become less visible in time as a result of cleaning.

Metal markings (may appear as scratches).

  • Do not slide aluminium cookware across the surface. Use recommended cleaning procedure to remove marks.

  • Incorrect cleaning materials have been used, spillage or grease stains remain on the surface. Use a razor scraper and recommended cleaning procedure.

Dark streaks or specks.

  • Use a razor scraper and recommended cleaning procedure.

Areas of discoloration on cooktop.

  • Marks from aluminium and copper pans as well as mineral deposits from water or food can be removed with the cleaning cream.

Hot sugar mixtures / plastic melted to the surface.

See the Glass Hob Cleaning section.

The hob is out of order, or some surface units do not work.

The shunt bars are not properly fitted on the terminal block. Check the connection is made in conformity with the instructions page 24 - 25.

The cabinet in which your hob will be installed and all adjacent furniture, should be made of materials which can withstand high temperatures. In addition, all decorative lami-nates should be fixed using the heat-resistant glue.

Take care to keep a minimum 5cm between the appliance and adjacent furniture.

To ensure proper ventilation around the hob, allow at least 1cm between the underside of the hob and the cabinet, and a 10× 10cm opening as illustrated.

When placing the hob, make sure that the joint (fitted with the hob) between the surrounding edge of the appliance and the worktop is properly sealed and that spillages cannot leak into any gap.

Rosières declines all responsibility for any damage that may be caused by unsuitable or unreasonable use.

Connection to the power supply should be made through an earthed, three-pin wall socket or an omnipole cut-out switch with an opening gap of at least 3mm .

The electrical installation should be protected by a fuse, properly earthed, and includes wires of a sufficient section to supply the product correctly.

A power cord is not supplied with the appliance, but the hob is equipped with a terminal block which enables you to choose the correct connection for the particular power supply by placing shunts according to technical data page 25.

Before making the connection always check :

. the line voltage indicated on your electrical meter,

. the location of phases, neutral and earthed on the electrical outlet,

. cross section of power supply wiring and circuit breaker rating.

The yellow/green wire of the power supply cable must be connected to the earth of both power supply and appliance terminals.

Attention :

  • Always check the continuity of the connection to the installation before any electrical operation.

  • Rosières cannot be held responsible for any accidents resulting from the use of an appliance which is not connected to earth, or with a faulty earth connection continuity.
