How to set the time on the Black & Decker CTO6300 oven?
Plug in the appliance. The display flashes '12:00'. Press the + and - buttons to set the time. Press START to confirm. In case of a power outage, repeat the operation.

How to activate convection?
Convection can only be activated with the BAKE mode. After selecting the temperature and pressing START, press CONV before the cycle starts. The screen displays 'CONV'. Cooking will be faster; reduce the temperature by 25°F (about 2.5°C). Each time the door is opened, reactivate convection by pressing START.
How to clean the CTO6300 oven?
Unplug and let cool. Remove the crumb tray and rack. Wash the rack and accessories in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. For stubborn stains, use a nylon pad. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical oven cleaners or abrasive pads on the non-stick coating.

- Do not cover crumb tray or any parts of the oven with metal foil. This will cause overheating of the oven.
To stop toasting, baking or broiling function, press the STOP button.
Use extreme caution when removing tray or disposing of hot grease.

GROUNDED PLUG

As a safety feature, this product is equipped with a grounded plug, which will only fit into a three-prong outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. Improper connection of the grounding conductor may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.

ELECTRICAL CORD

a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer delachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

How to Use

This product is for household use only.

GETTING STARTED

  • Remove packing materials and any stickers. Peel off clear protective film from electronic control panel.
  • Wash all parts as instructed in Care and Cleaning.
  • Select a location for the unit. Leave some space between the back of the unit and your counter to allow heat to flow without damaging counter space.
  • Insert crumb tray underneath the bottom heating elements.

SETTING THE CLOCK

CLOCK

  1. Plug unit into a standard wall outlet. 12:00 flashes on the digital display.

  2. Press, and to get the time of day
    Tip: To speed up the time sequence, press and hold the control.
    3.Once you reach the correct time, press

USING SLIDE RACK

The slide rack must be used for all cooking functions. It may be inserted in either the upper or lower rack slot. It can also be inverted for two additional positions (C).

TOASTING BREAD OR BAGELS

TOAST OF BAGEL
Note: The toasting time and temperature are preset and cannot be adjusted.
1. Open oven door
2. Place up to 6 slices of bread or 6 bagel halves on the slide rack. It is not necessary to preheat the oven forasting.
Note: For best performance, use rack positions 2 and 3 (C).
3.Close oven door.

  1. For toasting bread, press TOAST; the digital display shows TOAST. For bagels, press RAGS; the digital display shows TOAST BGL. In both modes, you see a blinking 4 (the preset toast shade level) and four bars on the digital display. The ON indicator light blinks for 5 seconds. Important: You have only 5 seconds to press START. If do not press START, the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.
  2. Use and to select desired toast/bagel shade level (from 1 to 7). For best results, select the medium setting (4) for your first cycle, then adjust lighter or darker to suit your taste.
  3. After you press indicator light becomes steady and the toast cycle begins. The selected toast shade setting blinks throughout the toasting cycle.
  4. Once tasting cycle is finished, you hear 5 short beeps. The ON indicator light goes out and the digital display changes to the time of day.
    Note: For your convenience, the unit will remember the last programmed toast setting.
  5. Open oven door and using an oven mill or pot holder, slide out the rack to remove bread or bagels.
    Caution: The unit is hot. Do not let any part of your skin touch any surface.

BAKING

Note: The oven will automatically preheat to the temperature you set for baking.

  1. Press Digital display shows BAKE and flashes 350^ (180^) . The On indicator light blinks for 5 seconds.
    Important: You have only 5 seconds to press START. If you do not press START, the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.
  2. To set desired temperature:

For Celsius, press then use and to change in increments of 10^
For Fahrenheit, press then use and to change it in increments

  1. Once you select desired temperature, if you want to preset baking time, press

For 5 seconds, digital display shows blinking 1:00 (default time) and BAKE TIMER.
Use and to change desirul time (1:00) until it reaches desired baking time.

Note: You can program the timer for up to 2 hours.

  2. Open oven door. The oven beeps.

  3. Place bake pan (strip tray) or pizza pan containing food on the slide rack (see Cooking Chart for recommended rack positions).
  4. Close oven door. The oven will beep at 1-minute interval and the ON indicator light keeps blinking to signal that you MUST press activate the baking function.

Important: Every time you open the oven door, you must press the baking function. If you do not press the ON indicator light keeps blinking and the oven beeps signaling that the Bake function is not active and the oven is not heating.
8. After you press indicator light becomes steady and digital display keeps blinking LO then Preheat until oven reaches set temperature. The Oven then beeps and digital display blinks between set temperature and set baking time. The Timer starts countdown to set baking time.

  1. Once the baking cycle is finished, the unit shuts off automatically.

Note: For your convenience the oven will remember the last programmed temperature and time settings.

  1. Open the oven door and using an oven mitt or pot holder, slide out the rack to remove the food.

Caution: The unit is hot. Do not let any part of your skin touch any surface.

  1. Press seconds, the ON indicator light blinks and digital display shows BRL with 3 blinking bars.

  2. If you want to preset broiling time, press For 5 seconds, digital display shows blinking 1:00 default time) and BRL TIMER.Use change time (1:00) until it reaches desired broiling time.

Note: You can program the timer for up to 2 hours.

Important: You have only 5 seconds to press START. If do not press START, the digital display goes back to the time of day and the ON indicator light goes out. You will have to restart the routine.

  1. After you press indicator light becomes steady. Set broiling time and TIMER blink on the digital display.

  2. Open oven door. Oven heeps.

  3. Place food on the broil rack set in the bake pan (drip tray).

  4. Place bake pan on the slide rack at least 2 inches from heating element.

  5. Close oven door. Digital display shows blinking bars and BRL. The oven will beep at 1-minute interval to signal that you MUST press activate the broiling function.

Important: Every time you open the oven door, you must press STOP to rate the broiling function. If you do not press START, the oven keeps beeping signaling that the broiling function is not active.

  1. After you press reset broiling time keeps blinking. Timer starts countdown to broiling time. At 00 you will hear 3 short beeps, the On indicator light goes out and the display changes to the time of day. The unit shuts off automatically.

Note: For your convenience the oven will remember the last programmed temperature and time settings.

  1. Open oven door and using an oven mitt or pot holder, slide out the rack to remove the food.

Caution: The unit is hot. Do not let any part of your skin touch any surface.

Note: Use only with the Bake function.

To turn on the fan for convection cooking, after you press "PAC" and "START". The digital display shows CONV.

Important:

You must select the Convection function right after you select Bake. You cannot select it in the middle of the baking cycle.
Every time you open the oven door, you must press to the Convection function.
Follow package or recipe direction for time conversion. As a general rule, foods should be baked in convection at 25 degrees lower. Watch cooking time as many foods will bake in less time.

Care and Cleaning

This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
1. Turn off unit, unplug from wall outlet and let it cool before cleaning.
2. Clean the glass door with a nylon pad and sudsy water. Do not use a spray glass cleaner.
3. To remove slide rack, open the door, pull the rack forward and out. Wash in warm, sudsy water or in a dishwasher. To remove stubborn spots, use a polyester or nylon pad. To replace the slide rack, open the door completely and slide into the rail and close the door.
4. Wash the bake pan (drip tray), broil rack and pizza pan in warm, sudsy water or in the dishwasher. To minimize scratching, use a polyester or nylon pad.
Note: Bake pan (drip tray) is not nonstick.
5. To remove the crumb tray, grasp the handle at the front of the oven and pull it out. Dispose of crumbs and wash the tray in warm, sudsy water. Remove stubborn spots with a nylon mesh pad. Be sure to dry thoroughly before inserting the tray back into the oven.

Nonstick Coating

  1. Unplug the oven and let it cool, then wipe with a soapy sponge or nylon pad after each use.
  2. Do not use a chemical oven cleaner. Do not use any abrasive cleansers or scouring pads as they may harm the coating. Dry with paper towel or soft cloth.

Exterior

Let the oven cool completely before cleaning any outer surface. Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge and dry with paper towel or soft cloth.
Cooking Containers
Metal, ovenproof glass or ceramic bakeware without glass lids can be used in your oven. Follow manufacturer's instructions. Be sure the top edge of the container is at least
1^#(2.54cm) away from the upper heating elements.
