General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Do not allow small children to play with the foil.

Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance
You will find the following symbol with warning character on the appliance:

WARNING OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Do not use this appliance near baths, wash basins or other vessels containing water.

WARNING:
- If the appliance is used in the bathroom, disconnect it from the mains after use as nearby water presents a hazard. This also applies if the appliance is switched off.
- As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection appliance (FI / RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice.

WARNING:
- Handle the hair rollers carefully! They can become hot when the appliance is in use.

Do not touch the heating plates inside the appliance. Risk of burning!

Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an authorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children must not play with the appliance. - Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are supervised.

CAUTION:
This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Please observe the instructions that we have included for you in the chapter "Cleaning".
Notes for Use
Ionizing Function - Reduction of Static in Hair
The anti-static effect allows easier hair styling. The hair does not dry out, it becomes smooth and sparkling.
Electrical Connection
- Before inserting the plug into the socket, make sure that the mains voltage to be used matches that of the appliance. You can find this information on the nameplate.
- Connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed socket.
Before Initial Use
- Remove all the packing materials.
- Sensitive surfaces are possibly protected with foil. Remove these foils.
- Please refer to the instructions under "Commissioning".

NOTE:
When the appliance is switched on for the first time there may be a slight smell.
- Heat the rollers with the appliance closed for ca. 12 min, do not use immediately.
- Open the cover and switch off the appliance (O).
Pull out the mains plug. - Allow the rollers to cool.
- Ensure there is adequate ventilation!
Commissioning
- Check that the roller is fitted correctly.
- Switch the appliance on (I) or off (O) using the switch. The heating phase has begun. The control lamp now illuminates.
- Close the cover.
- Once the indicator lamp turns off, the curlers will be hot and ready for use.

WARNING: Risk of scalding!
Always hold the curlers by using the outer handle area.

NOTE:
The temperature is controlled by a thermostat. The heat switches back on automatically. The control lamp now illuminates.
General Use

CAUTION:
Only use the rollers on dry hair.
- Do not use the rollers on wigs or synthetic hair accessories such as e.g. hair extensions.
- Place the appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface.
- Select the roller size depending on the length and style of hair you want to have. For tight curls use small rollers; for wavy hair use large rollers.
- To secure the roller there is a metal clip matching the size of the roller.
- To retain the heat in the appliance, only open the cover briefly to remove the roller.
Take a part of the hair, comb it and wind it around the roller. The lock of hair should not be wider than the roller. - Secure your hair to the roller using a clip.
- Repeat the process with the other rollers.
- Switch the appliance off if you no longer need it. Pull out the mains plug.
- Leave the rollers in your hair, until they have fully cooled (around half an hour).
- Then remove the clips and unwind the rollers again.
- Remove any hair that has stuck to the roller, so that it does not burn when the roller is next heated.
- Finally style the hair with your fingers. Do not use brushes!
- Hold in place with spray or hair wax.

NOTE:
For better hold you can wash your hair before putting in the rollers, apply mousse and blow dry.

CAUTION:
Do not apply styling products to the rollers!
Cleaning

WARNING:
- Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the socked.
- Wait until the appliance has fully cooled!
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the appliance in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.

Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
-
You can wipe the rollers with a lightly damped cloth.
- Clean the casing with a soft, dry cloth – without any additional cleaning agents. If required you can lightly dampen the cloth.
- Keep the inside of the appliance free of hair, dust or any foreign objects.
Make sure there are no metal clips on the base plate. Use the accessory compartments to store the clips.
- Put the hair-curlers back into the storage box.
