IMPORTANT
Read the instructions for use carefully before starting to use the fryer, and keep these instructions, along with the guarantee, receipt and, if possible, the box with the inner packaging. If you give this appliance to another person, include the instructions for use with it.
INSTRUCTIONS
The Pegasus fryer offers an easy and healthy way to prepare your favourite food. The rapid circulation of hot air and a heating element in the upper part allows you to cook numerous types of dishes. The fryer cooks most ingredients on all sides without requiring the use of oil.
Danger
- Because of the multiple electrical components and the heating elements, do not submerge the casing in water or rinse it under the tap.
- To avoid the risk of electric shock or a short circuit, do not allow any liquid to enter into the appliance.
- Place all food items in the basket to avoid contact with the heating elements.
- Do not cover the air inlet or outlet when the appliance is in use.
- Filling the bowl with oil may cause a risk of fire.
- Do not touch the interior of the appliance while it is in use.
Warning
- Check that the voltage indicated on the appliance is appropriate for the domestic power supply.
- Do not use the appliance if there is damage to the plug, the main power cord or any other part.
- Do not try to repair the appliance yourself. Always use the services of an authorised technician. To avoid risk, only the manufacturer, their authorised technical service, or a qualified person should change a defective power cord, replacing it always with the same type of cord.
- Keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children.
- Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces.
- Do not connect the appliance or use the control panel with wet hands.
- Connect the appliance only to a grounded outlet. Always ensure that the plug is properly inserted into the wall socket.
- Do not connect the appliance to an external timer switch.
- Do not place the appliance on or near flammable materials, such as a tableclothes or curtains.
- Do not place the appliance against a wall or other electrical appliances. Leave at least 10 cm of clear space behind and around the sides and 10 cm of clear space above the appliance.
- Do not place any object on top of the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance for any purpose other than that stated in this manual.
- Do not leave the operating appliance unattended.
- During hot air frying, hot steam is released through the air outlet openings. Keep hands and face a safe distance from the steam and the air outlet openings. Also be careful with hot steam and air when removing the bowl from the appliance.
- Any nearby surfaces may become hot during use of the appliance.
- Immediately unplug the appliance if you notice black smoke coming from it.
- Wait until the steam has stopped coming out before removing the bowl from the appliance.

- The guarantee will not be valid if the appliance is used for professional or semi-professional purposes.
• Always unplug the appliance when not in use. - The appliance requires 30 minutes to cool down before it can be cleaned.
Automatic disconnection
The appliance is fitted with a timer. The appliance will switch off automatically when the timer ⏻ makes a bell sound. You can manually change the timer by turning the button in an anti-clockwise direction.
Electromagnetic fields
The appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). When handled properly there is no risk to the human body, according to available scientific evidence.
BEFORE FIRST USE
- Remove all packaging materials, stickers and labels.
- Clean the basket (2) and the bowl (1) with hot water and a little detergent, using a non-abrasive sponge. These parts are suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher.
- Clean the interior and exterior of the appliance with a cloth.
Preparation for use
- Place the appliance on a horizontal, even, and stable surface. Do not place the appliance on non-heat-resistant surfaces.
- Place the basket (2) in the bowl (1).
- Do not fill the bowl with oil or any other liquid. Do not put anything on top of the appliance as it would interrupt the airflow.
Hot-air frying
- Connect the fryer to a grounded outlet.
- Carefully remove the bowl from the fryer.
- Place the food in the basket.
Note: Do not overload the basket with food (see the “Configuration” section in this chapter), as it could affect the quality of the food. - Put the bowl (1) back into the fryer. Never use the fryer without the basket (2) in place.
Precaution: Do not touch the basket (2) during or immediately after use, as it is very hot. Take hold of the bowl (1) by the handle (4). - Turn the control knob to the required temperature.
- Determine the cooking time required for the food (see the "Configuration" section in this chapter).
- To switch on the appliance, turn the timer button to the required cooking time.
Add 3 minutes to the cooking time if the fryer is cold.
Note: if you wish, you can also pre-heat the appliance without any food inside. In this case, turn the timer button until it indicates 3 minutes and wait until the heating light goes off. Then fill the basket and turn the timer button to the required temperature.
- When the light comes on (7), the fryer starts to heat up.
- The timer (5) starts to count down the cooking time.
- During the frying with hot air, the heating light (8) comes on and goes off constantly. This indicates that the fryer has reached the optimum temperature, maintaining the temperature within.
-
Excess oil from the food is collected in the lower part of the bowl.
-
Some food items need to be stirred during cooking for an optimum result (see the "Configuration" section in this chapter). Remove the bowl (1) from the appliance using the basket handle (4) and stir. Next, slide the bowl (1) back into the fryer.
Important: Do not press the button on the handle during removal to stir the food.
Tip: If you set the timer to half the cooking time, you must stir the food when you hear the timer bell. However, this means that you have to reset the timer for the remaining cooking time after carrying out this step.
- When you hear the timer bell (5), it will indicate that the cooking time has elapsed. Pull the bowl (1) out of the appliance and place it on the basket/bowl support (4).
Note: You can also turn the appliance off manually. Turn the temperature control button (6) to the required position Ⓓ.
- Check that the food is ready.
If the food is not yet ready, set it for a couple more minutes.
- To take out small food items, press the basket release button (3) and remove them.
Do not put the basket face down with the bowl attached, as any excess oil collected in the bottom of the bowl will fall onto the food.
Food residue and food items are hot after air frying. Depending on the type of food used in the fryer, the steam may come out of the bowl (1).
- Empty the basket (2) into a recipient or onto a plate.
Tip: To remove large or delicate food items from the basket (2), use a pair of tongs. - When you have finished frying the food, the fryer is immediately ready for its next use.
CONFIGURATION
This table will help you select the basic settings for the food.
Note: Keep in mind that these settings are indications. Food items differ in origin, size and shape; we cannot guarantee the best preparation for your food.
Because the rapid air technology instantly reheats the air inside the appliance, briefly removing the bowl during frying barely affects the process.
Tips:
- Small food items require slightly less cooking time than larger items.
- A larger amount of food ingredients requires a slightly longer cooking time, while a lesser quantity requires slightly less cooking time.
- Stirring the smaller ingredients halfway through the cooking time optimises the final result and can prevent the food from frying unevenly.
- Add a little oil to fresh potatoes to make them crispy. Fry the food in the fryer after adding the oil.
- Do not prepare very greasy foods such as sausages.
- Food suitable for the oven can be cooked in this fryer.
- The optimal amount for cooking chips is 500g.
- Use pre-cooked foods for preparing snacks quickly and easily. Pre-cooked foods require less time than those prepared at home.
- Place a mould or baking dish in the basket of the fryer if you want to bake a cake or a quiche.
- You can also use the fryer to reheat food. For reheating, set the temperature at 160^ C for a maximum of 10 minutes.
Cooking homemade chips
To make chips, follow these steps:
-
Peel and cut the potatoes.
-
Wash and dry the cut potatoes with a paper towel.
- Pour 12 tablespoon of olive oil in a bowl, add the potatoes and toss to cover them with the oil.
- Remove the potatoes with a kitchen utensil so that the excess oil is left in the bowl. Put them into the basket (2) of the fryer. Note: Do not tilt the bowl over the fryer basket, as the oil will fall into it.
- Fry the potatoes according to the instructions in this chart.
