SAFETY _____________________________ Please read this instruction manual thoroughly be- fore using this appliance! Follow all safety instruc- tions in order to avoid damages due to improper use! Keep the instruction manual for future reference. Should this appliance be given to a third party, then this instruction this instruction manual must also be handed over.
The appliance is intended for domestic use only.
This appliance is designed solely for trimming human facial hair. Any other use is expressly pro- hibited.
Never use the appliance if it, the cutting head or the power adapter show any signs of damage.
Only use the appliance with the parts and power adapter supplied.
After charging, pull out the power adapter.
Caution! Always keep the power adapter dry.
Never use the appliance if it, the cutting foils or the blade blocks are visibly damaged.

Power adapter18 ENGLISH Rechargeable battery operation When operating the appliance with the built-in nickel metal hydride bat- tery, only use the power adapter sup- plied for charging. The power adapter has an automatic
, 50-60 Hz transformer which works anywhere in the world. This allows it to adjust to all interna- tional AC voltages. 1 Push the On/Off switch
switch off the appliance. 2 Plug the power adapter
into the power adapter socket
and the power adapter plug into the wall socket. – During the charging process, the LED battery indicator
lights up blue. – When the appliance is fully charged, all of the five LEDs light up. 3 Pull the power adapter
out of the power adapter socket
and the power adapter plug out of the wall socket. Notes ■ Before first use or if you have not used them for a long time, charge up the batteries completely (about 14 hours). ■ After each further use, charging time is approx. 2 hours. ■ The ambient temperature should be between 15°C and 35°C. ■ If you switch on the appliance while it is charging, charging will be interrupted. ■ When fully charged, the appliance works for around 50 minutes. It is not advisable to charge the bat- teries after each use. Generally, you should only charge the bat- teries when they are completely discharged. This increases their service life. ■ The LED battery indicator
indi- cates the remaining battery charge levels 100%, 80%, 60%, 40 %, 20%. When the “20%” level LED is flashing, the batteries are almost flat and you should charge the ap- pliance. ■ You can use the appliance with the adapter connected to the wall socket or in battery mode. OPERATION ________________________ENGLISH
Caution ■ The foils and blade blocks must be intact. Replace any damaged parts before shaving. 2 Push the On/Off switch
switch on the appliance. 3 Shave with slow, gentle move- ments against the direction of beard growth. Hold the appliance at a 90° angle to your skin. Make sure both foils touch the skin. Caution ■ Do not press too hard as you may damage the foils. 4 After use, switch off the appliance with the On/Off switch
and put the plastic protective cap back on. Trimming Use the pop-up trimmer for longer hair on your face and neck as well as on the beard, moustache or side- burns. 1 Push the On/Off switch
completely until it latches in. 3 After use, push the trimmer
back down by sliding down the switch below the trimmer. 4 Switch off the appliance with the On/Off switch
and put the plas- tic protective cap back on. Hints and tips ■ Always pull the skin taut when shaving difficult areas such as your lower jaw. ■ Always cut against the natural di- rection of beard growth. ■ In the case of thick or copious beard growth which cannot be re- moved by just one shave, do one quick shave and then a more thor- ough second one.20 ENGLISH INFORMATION _____________________ Cleaning and care General information The appliance must be cleaned regu- larly so that you can continue to en- joy its top performance and optimum results. Clean the housing with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Do not use any cleaning agents. Cleaning with water 1 Push the On/Off switch
switch off the appliance. Caution ■ The appliance must be disconnect- ed from the power adapter. 2 To remove the foil frame, push the side lock buttons
with your thumb to lift up the foil frame. 3 Rinse out the foil frame under run- ning water. 4 To remove all hair, hold the blade blocks
under running water and switch on the appliance. 5 Gently shake out the remaining moisture and then dry off the appli- ance with a clean cloth. 6 Replace the foil frame and let it latch into place. Cleaning with the brush 1 Turn the appliance off. Caution ■ The appliance must be disconnect- ed from the power adapter. 2 Remove the foil frame. To do so, push the side lock buttons

4 Carefully brush hair clippings out of the blade blocks, the foils and the housing.ENGLISH
INFORMATION _____________________ Caution ■ The foils can be irreparably dam- aged during cleaning. Only press very gently. 5 Attach all parts again after clean- ing. Caution ■ To ensure smooth operation, the foil frame must be properly seated in the housing. Never take the foils out of the frame. Replacing the foil frame and blade blocks You can replace the foil frame and blade blocks. The appropriate re- placement shaving system (contain- ing two blade blocks and one foil frame) is article number MSR 72. Ask your specialist dealer about it. Replacing the foil frame 1 Remove the foil frame. To do so, push the side lock buttons
2 Fix the new foil frame in the hous- ing. Caution ■ Ensure that the foil frame is firmly in position and cannot move within the housing. Replacing the blade blocks 1 Remove the blade blocks

2 Place the new blade blocks on the oscillator. Caution ■ Ensure that the blade blocks are firmly in position on the holder. Note ■ For an optimum shaving experi- ence, always replace foil frame and blade blocks at the same time Storage If you do not plan to use the appli- ance for a long period of time, please store it carefully. Make sure that it is unplugged and is completely dry. Store the appliance in the original storage bag in a cool and dry place. Make sure the appliance is kept out of the reach of children.22 ENGLISH Environmental note This product is manufactured from high-quality parts and materials which can be reused and recycled. Therefore, do not dispose of the device and the built-in rechargeable bat- tery along with normal household waste at the end of its service life. Take it to a col- lection point for the recycling of elec- trical and electronic equipment where the battery is taken out of the device and disposed separately. This is indicated by this symbol on the product, in the operating manual and on the packaging. Please find out about collection points operated by your local author- ity.
