Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations.

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label of the appliance. This product complies with the directives which are binding for the CE-labelling.

Important safety instructions

• Caution! Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath, shower or swimming-pool, over a washbasin filled with water or any other

receptacle containing water.

There is always a risk when the appliance is operated near water even when it is switched off.
Therefore, if the appliance is being used in a bathroom always remove the plug from the wall socket after use.

  Make sure the air intake and outlet openings are not blocked by fingers or hair and that no lint particles are allowed to accumulate in the air intake.
  The thermal cut-out will otherwise operate

to switch the appliance off. If this does occur, remove the plug from the socket and clear the blockage. Once the appliance has cooled down, it may be switched on again.

Every time the appliance is used, the main body including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

Operation

Switch settings

The appliance is equipped with a 4-position switch allowing for the following settings:

0 = Off
1 = Half power / low temperature
2 = Full power / high temperature
* = Cool function

Removing and changing the attachments

Always switch the appliance off and allow it to cool down to room temperature before changing or removing any attachments.
- To remove an attachment, press and hold the lock/release button on the housing, turn the attachment clockwise until the lock symbols are aligned, and then pull it off.
- To fit an attachment, follow the same steps in reverse order while applying only light pressure, making sure the small lock symbols (or the dash marks) are aligned. Lock the attachment in place by turning it anti-clockwise, when the lock symbol on the housing and the dash mark should be aligned.
- Without any attachment fitted, the appliance can be used as a hair dryer.

Round brush

This is useful for giving more volume to the hair. Position the brush near the roots, and pull it gently through the hair towards the ends.

Ceramic round brush

The hot air heats up the metal cylinder so that the heat can work directly on the hair. This is helpful when shaping the hair so that the ends curl inwards or outwards.

Styling nozzle

Attaches to the air-outlet opening and helps to shape the hair while blow-drying.

Use

The appliance should only be used on hair that has been dried, and is no more than slightly damp.
The round brush is designed for shaping the hair. To achieve this, the hair should be divided into single strands (not too thick) and then spread evenly over the brush, turning them inwards or outwards as desired.
- Apply for a few seconds at a time only, while letting the hot air take effect on the hair. Let the strands uncurl afterwards. Hint:

Using the cool-function before unrolling the strands will give the hair a firmer, longer-lasting shape.

• Let the hair cool down sufficiently before brushing it out.

General cleaning an care

• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
  To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not

If necessary, the housing may be wiped with a dry lint-free cloth.
After use, remove loose hair from the attachment used.
Always check the air intake openings for accumulated lint particles or hair and remove any found.
