Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

General Safety Instructions

1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.

2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

3. Keep the appliance and the cable cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.
4. WARNING: In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
5. If the supply cord is damaged it must be repaired by the Authorized Service Agent to avoid a hazard.

6. Never pull on the cord when unplugging.

7. Do not use the unit with a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working properly.

8. Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
9. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
10. Make sure the appliance has been unplugged before cleaning.
11. This appliance must be installed following the national regulations for electrical installations.
12. This appliance is for household use only.

Special Safety Instructions

- ATTENTION. Hot surface. The surface can remain hot during or after use.

- The electrical safety of the appliance is only guaranteed if it is connected to an efficient earth installation as specified in current electric safety regulations. The manufacturer does not accept responsibility for any damage resulting from a lack of earth installation.

• We strongly advise against the use of adapters, extension plugs and/or leads. In the case of these being necessary, use only simple or multiple adapters and extension leads which conform to current safety regulations, taking care not to exceed the voltage limit indicated on the adapter and/or extension lead.
• WARNING: When the sandwich maker is switched on, the inside surfaces can reach extremely high temperatures and can cause serious burns. Do not touch the appliance while it is switched on. It should be taken the necessary measures to avoid the risk of burns, fire and other damage to persons or property by contact with the sides or top of the device during use or the cooling.
• Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
• Do not let the mains cord hang over the edge of the table or worktop on which the appliance stands.
• Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces.
• Do not let the appliance operate unattended.
• Put the appliance on a flat, stable surface with sufficient free space around it.

• Always preheat the cooking plates before you put any sandwiches between them.

• Let the appliance cool down completely before you clean the appliance or put it away.

• Never touch the cooking plates with sharp or abrasive items, as they damage the non-stick surface.
• This appliance is not a grill and is not intended for preparing other foods than sandwiches.
• The baking surfaces get very hot. Touch the handles only.
• Put the unit down onto a heat-resistant surface or mat.
• In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the unit directly underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough space all around.
• Beware of steam coming out when you open the baking section.
• The bread can burn, so never use the sandwich toaster near or below curtains and other inflammable materials!
• Do not operate the device connected to an external timer or a separate remote control system.

USING THE SANDWITCH TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME

When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plate with damp cloth and dry with clothe, tissue etc. Then drop some cooking oil or butter on the plate. Then preheat for 5-10 minutes. This operation is only necessary when using for the first time.

HOW TO USE IT

1. Plug the connector, and then red light will lit.
2. Close the lid and prepare sandwich while the toaster is heating.
3. The device is ready once the green light illuminates.
4. Place the sandwiches in the sandwich toaster and close the top.
5. While toasting, the upper lid would be a little bulging, don't open it halfway.
6. During use, the green light will turn on and off. This indicates that the thermostat is working correctly.
7. Leave the sandwich to toast for about two minutes. The toasting time depends on individual preference.
8. Open the lid and remove sandwich using plastic or wooden spatula. Never use metal knife as this may damage the non-sticking coating.
9. After using, pull out the plug and open the upper lid let it get cool.

WARNING: The plates may become very hot during use. Be very careful when using the sandwich toaster.

CLEANING

• Never immerse the appliance in water nor rinse it under the tap.
  • Unplug the sandwich maker.
• Let the sandwich maker cool down completely in open position.
• Remove any sticky food residues (e.g. solidified cheese) from the cooking plates with a wooden or plastic spatula.
• Remove excess oil from the cooking plates with a piece of kitchen paper before you remove them.
• Remove the cooking plates from the appliance.
• Clean the cooking plates with a soft cloth or sponge in hot water with some washing-up liquid or put them in the dishwasher.
• Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents and materials, as they damage the non-stick
  • coating of the cooking plates.
• Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.

Disposal of old electrical appliances.

The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream. Old appliances must be collected separately in order to optimize the recovery and recycling of the materials they contain, and reduce the impact on human health and the environment. The crossed out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation, that when you dispose of the appliance, it must be separately collected. Consumers should contact their local authority or retailer for information concerning

the correct disposal of their old appliance.
