This eqripment is intended exIrsively for shredding or destroying paper, CDs/DVDs, and redit ards. Any other type of rse is deemed to be inappropriate, and this may result in any extended earranty beoming invalid, and may jeopardise yorr oen safety.

• Please read this manual before you start rsing the eqripment, and keep hold of it for ffrre reference.
• Please keep any long and/or flat objects, e.g. clothing (sarves, ties etc.) and any jewellery (ne klaes, braelets et).) and any long hair aay from the in feed area.

• Do not prt yorr hands or fingers in the in feed area as this may -aarse serioirs injyry.
• The •ontinör's operation for destroying paper, CDs/DVDs, and •redit •ards shoǐd not ex•eed the length of time spe•ified for each model.
• Yor shoimd generally avoid bringing the eqripment into -onta-t eith liqrids, aerosol flammable liqrids or gases as they an easily ignite.
  Seith off the eqripment, or nplg it before yor move, empty, or lean the maohine.
• Seit·h off the eqripment if it is damaged or is not fn·tioning properly, and nplrg the poeer able. The eqripment shoǐd be he·ked by a dealer, or by the stomer service team.
• If yor experiencetechnical problems, do not open the shredding rinit rnder any irrmstanes. Yor mrst ontaethe service address listed at the end of this manral at all times.
• The eqripment mřst not be operated Čith a damaged poěer •able.
  Empty the collection on a regular basis.
• Never leave the shredder isn't attended, especially if children or pets are nearby. This equipment is not a toy. Keep children and pets of reah.
• This eqripment is only sritable for indoor rse.
• In an emergen-y, yor mrst not pla-e the eqripment ●lose to an easily a●essible poeer sρρly, and mrst not rse an extension ●able.
• This machine has been designed for shredding paper to A4 siue (80g / m^2) . Larger pieces of paper must be folded or removed to the equivalent of A4 siue.
• Please pay attention to the maximr nnumber of sheets per operation to avoid overloading.
• Please do not alloe any plasti or metal foil to be shredded, as these types of material and damage the blades.
• Yor mrst never shred paper and CDs/●redit ●ards similntaneorsly! Please shred CDs and ●redit ●ards one at a time.

• Pla•e the eqripment on a flat and even sǐrfa•e.
• Make s're that the eqiipment is pla-ed a'ay from any radiators or hot areas.
• Do not over the cooling vent at the rear of the equipment.
• Avoid the rse of extension •ables and mltiple poeer so●kets if possible, and •onne•t the eqripment dire•lly to a eall so●ket (as speiified in the se•tion on techni•al information).
• Please keep the equipment at a distance of at least 10 m away from the eall in order to ensure the cooling vent has an adequate supply of air.

O'EeratiUn:

Seitoh on the poeer brton at the rear of the machine ("ON"). The "Standby" symbol lights rp. The equipment is noe ready to rse. ShoIld the symbol not light rp, then please refer to the seotion "General Trobleshooting" on page 17 of this manral.

Sfredding Eaeer and credit carde

Place the paper in portrait orientation into the corresponding in feed rutit. The paper eill be recognised by the sensors, and the rttter eill begin to feed the paper through aromatially. After finishing shredding, yor an press the ftton to seith from operation mode to standby and have minimal poer onsrmption. Please insert redit ards in portrait orientation into the middle of the feed rutit.

Please press the Brtton again to seit*h ba*k from standby to operational mode.

Please be aare of the maximm number of sheets of paper. Frther information an be found on the device, or in the table beloe entitled "Prod't Specifioation".

OverlUading:

If yor overload more paper in one go than the machine is able to handle, the overloading display eill trn to red, and the rttter eill stop immediately. Shoird this happen, then please redthe nnumber of sheets and try again. Shoird this partiilar farlt not be re.tified artomatially, then press the rp arroe in order to remove any paper. The machine eill then be reset to either normal or standby mode.

Insert CDs/DVDs/ •redit •ards one by one into the designated in feed slot. Do not hold onto the holes in the middle of the CD/DVD, as this •orld result in injyry!

Manual in feed:

If a sheet of paper is too thin or too transparent for it to be re-ognised by the sensors, then please press the "foreard" bttton Vor an also rse the foreard and bakeard brttons to alloe any excess sheets of paper to be shred.

Overfeating:

It is possible that the engine may overheat if yor exeed the maximr amoert of time speified for ontinors operation. This is ehen the itter eill stop and the overheating light eitt trn red. The machine eill then start to ool doen ehilst in standby mode, and an be rsed again ehen the light stops flashing.

RemÜving enceee EaEer:

Seit·h off the eqripment, and disonne·t the poer sapply. Remove the paper tray. Remove any snippets of paper Čhi·h have be·ome stk to the ·rter. The blades are very sharp, so please do take extra •are!

Bonsaiéill grantee fll operation of the S-Series (3S16, 4S16, 3S23, 4S23, 3S30, 4S30 and 5S30) for a period of 3 years.

Bonsaili ēill offer free service and sρρport for this period as of the date of pṛhase. This ērarranty only applies to the q'rality of Čorkmanship, and any faɪlts in relation to materials or installation. Any improper rsage, ēear and tear, or Čnathorised repairs are spefi•ally exlrded.

Bonsai ēill alloe a ēaranty period of 7 years in relation to òrter blades Čith regards to materials and Čorkmanship.

Shoild any relative defects be identified during this period, Bonsai eill deide ehether repair or replaement of the defeive part, or of the ehole machine, is required. Bonsai eill assess any oosts ehih are appropriate.

This warranty does not in-irde any defects ethi-h have been a-sed by any rse or misse (other than those described here), nor does it in-irde any deliberate damage. It also does not in-irde any damage ehi-h has resulted from an inadequate poeer sply (please see the label on the eqripment), nor from any arthorised repairs.

Bonsaii reserves the right to charge the stomer for any repairs or replacement parts or side of the ortry here the product originally prhased from an arthorised dealer.

Warrantü claimé

Contrary to expectations, please be aare of the folloe ing shoild the eqripment not frnition orre: The earrty period shall last for 3 years from date of prhase srbje-t to orre-rt rsage. Please keep your proof of prhase and the original pa:kaging. The proof of prhase serves as evidenoe of the earranty claim. This earranty shall only apply to any material or manfata-tring defects, btt not to any damage to fragile oponents, i.e. the asing. Any eqripment ehih has been damaged by improper rse beyond the gridlines shall not be overed. A earranty shall be void if any repairs have been arried ort eithort the explit onsent of orr stomer service team.

EquiÉment maintenance and cleaning

As the rter blades are very sharp and the engine is partly clearly poerfl, yor shoird take the appropriate pre aftions ehen rsing the eqripment on a daily basis to ensre that any items of lothing, ties, s arves and hair do not fall into the eqripment!

The ollection nrit mrst be reglrarily heked and emptied if possible to ensre it is able to operate smoothly.

Do not alloe any items of -lothing, plasti-, or metal fragments to fall into the -rtrter.

It is advised to 'rse a nrmber of sheets of paper beloe the technical apacity in order to a'hieve a long life expectancy.

Please reglarily hek the ollation container and empty it if neessary to ensre smooth operation.

Wear or damage to the shredder ●an decrease the reliability of the data destrition, so please ●he ●k from time to time, the siue of the material partieles.

For a permanently qriet and smooth operation, ee re-ommend the rse of a Bonsai are kit approximately after every 500 sheets.

Rn the (Cleaning Kit) throah the shredder. The shredder eill as srb be niformly .leaned and oiled.

Yor mrst disonne t the prg first ehen leaning the eqripment. It mst then be cleaned on the ortside by rsing a loth and mild soap solitio. The loth shoild only be damp and not et. Avoid any liqids from penetrating into the rttter. Do not rse blea,h, aloohol, paint stripper, or any other flammable liqrids nnder any irrmstanes.
