USER MANUAL KS1 STEBA
In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater. Do not hang anything on the heater and do not cover it while it’s working. ∙ Never immerse the unit in water. ∙ During operation, place the heater in a safe position: o far (1 mt.) from inflammable objects or furniture. o if wall mounted, not fixed to wooden or synthetic plastic surfaces. o leaving the air outlet space free: 1 mt. of free space in front of the heater and 50 cm. of free space behind it. o not located directly below a socket-outlet. ∙ Never use the device after a malfunction, e.g. if it felt down or has been damaged in any other manner. ∙ The manufacturer is not liable for damage which is occurring due to the usage of the appliance in a different way as de- scribed or a mistake in the handling has been made. ∙ To prevent injury, repairs such as replacing a damaged cord, should only be carried out by a customer service. Only original spare parts have to be used. ∙ The device gets hot, only transport after it cooled down. ∙ Only use the device as described in this manual.13 ∙ This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: o staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and others working environments o by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type en- vironments o bed and breakfast type environments. ∙ Before initial use: Heat up the device for about 15 min. to eliminate the smell of newness. ∙ Attention! Device gets hot. Risk of Burns! Parts of this product may be very hot during operation. The air outlet gets hot during operation. Special attention is needed when children or vulnerable persons are present. ∙ If an extension cable is used, it has to have a cross-section of 1,5mm². A cable drum must always be unwound. ∙ If a GS-tested 16 A multi-pin extension is used, it may not be charged with more then 3680 watts due to fire hazard. ∙ Make sure that children do not tease the cable or that a trip hazard occurs. ∙ The device must always be disconnected from the power supply if it is not supervised and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning. ∙ Do not use the heater in rooms with explosive gas or while us- ing inflammable solvents or varnish or glues. Cleaning ∙ Attention! Pull the plug before cleaning. ∙ Never immerse the unit into water. ∙ This product is fitted with a filter to protect the heating ele- ment from dust and dirt. ∙ The filter is removable to be cleaned easily with water. ∙ To remove the filter just unlock the tab by pressing on it and pull towards you as shown in picture 12.14 ∙ To keep the heater in perfect condition, clean the filter once every six months REMEMBERING TO PUT IT BACK AGAIN AF- TERWARDS.
Workplace Important: Never place this device on or next to hot surfaces (e.g. hot stoves). Only use it on a even, stable and a heat resisting surface. It is important that no inflammable items are near to the device. Do not place the device on the edge of the table so that it cannot be touched by children or fall down when touched. ∙ The appliance must not be used near showers, bathtubs, sinks or swimming pools. ∙ The adjusting knobs should never be accessible to persons who are in the shower or bathtub to prevent any touching with wet hands.15 Operation ∙ Extract the foot placed on the back of the appliance as shown in picture 8. Just pull it until you hear a “click” and check that the foot is firmly locked in its extracted position. ∅minmaxoff 1800W 1000W ventilation clik!
∙ The switch is used to control heater’s functioning se- lecting the off condition, cold air ventilation, warm air (1000W) or hot air (1800W). ∙ The heater is also equipped with an alarm light (picture 10) that switches on in case of overheating/ malfunctioning. It is not a power control light and, consequently, it will not switch on during normal functioning. ∙ Do not put anything on the heater to avoid any over- heating/malfunctioning.16 Thermostat ∙ In a room with a temperature exceeding 30°C, the thermostat does not turn on the fan heater even if it is at maximum. ∙ Vice-versa, in a room with a very low temperature (below 5°C), it is normal that the thermostat keeps the heater constantly on, even if it is at minimum. ∙ To optimise the use of the thermostat, proceed as follows: o turn the thermostat knob to maximum and wait until a comfortable tem- perature is reached. o then turn the thermostat knob anti-clockwise until you hear a “click” and the heater turns off. o turn the thermostat knob clockwise just a little. o in this position, the thermostat will maintain the selected ambient tem- perature. Troubleshooting ∙ In the event of overheating, the safety device on the appliance automatically dis- abled the heating elements and motor. As a result, the heater stops working. In this case: o Turn off the fan heater and allow it to cool down for about 15 minutes. o Eliminate any other possible reasons for overheating (e.g.: obstructions in front of the air inlet/outlet grilles, build-ups of dirt). o Turn on the fan heater again and check it works correctly.
