1 Safety InformationŸBefore connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply. ŸOnly insert the power supply unit into a socket when the appliance is switched off. ŸOnly use the power supply unit supplied for the massager. ŸKeep the power supply unit, cable and appliance well away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids. ŸDo not touch the power supply unit when you are standing in water and always take hold of the plug with dry hands. ŸDo not take hold of a device if it falls into water. Pull out the power plug and the power supply unit from the socket immediately. ŸConnect the device only in that way, so that the power plug is freely accessible. ŸAlways switch off the appliance after use with the buttons on the control unit and unplug the power supply unit. ŸTo disconnect the unit from the power supply, always pull the plug out of the socket. Do not pull on the cable! Ÿ Do not carry, pull or rotate the device by its power cord. Shiatsu is a form of finger pressure massage and one of the most im- portant massaging techniques along with manual lymphatic drainage and reflexology. This form of physical therapy was developed in Japan but stems from traditional Chinese massage. Gentle stroking and bene-ficial pressure application techniques are used to awaken life forces and encourage them to flow through the body. The object of the massage is not just to ease tension, but also to opti-mise the flow of life force and harmonise body and soul. What is Shiatsumassage?In the MEDISANA Shiatsu massage seat cover MC 812 you have a modern device for genuine Shiatsu style back massages.The MEDISANA Shiatsu massage seat cover MC 812 has four rotating massage heads for Shiatsu massage of the three zones “Upper Back”, “Lower Back” and “Full Back”. The device is equipped with an additional vibration function and an infrared heat function. The unique combination ofintensive shiatsu and vibration massage with radiated heat makes the massage seat cover an effective and relaxing treatment. Their settings can be comfortably adjusted by means of the easy-to-handle control unit. How does the MEDISANAShiatsu MassageSeat Coverwork ? CAUTION Make sure that the maximum operating time of 15 minutes is not exceeded.

The massage effect is particularly useful for treating tense muscles and tired tissue. The unit provides pleasant relaxation for overcoming everyday stress. • This massage seat cover can be fixed on an office chair or any suitable seating with a backrest (e.g. chair, sofa or similar).

• Insert plug into the mains socket. Ensure that the power supply is easily accessible.

• Take a seat on the Shiatsu massage seat cover and familiarise your- self with the functions.

Operation Operating the unit

The MC 812 shiatsu massage seat cover can be switched on by pressing the On / Off button . After pressing the button, the LED above the On / Off button will flash and the massage heads will be automatically moved to home position. During this process, no function key works. After the homing function, the LED will stop flashing and the device is ready to use. During the homing function, do not press any function key until the LED above the On / Off button lights up constantly to indicate the device is ready to use.

ŸWhen the “Upper Back” massage button ("A") is pressed, the LED next to the button illuminates and the Shiatsu massage heads move from the home position up to the upper back area, massaging the back in a circular motion whilst doing so. If you press the button during the massage again, this function is switched off. ŸIf you press the “Lower Back” massage button ("B") , the LED next to the button illuminates and the Shiatsu massage heads move from the home position to the lower back area, massaging the lower back in a circular motion whilst doing so. If you press the button during the massage again, this function is switched off. ŸIf you press the “A+B” massage button the function procedure is similar to pressing buttons and , except that it is for the entire back. ŸYou can enhance the shiatsu massage at any time with a vibration massage by pressing the vibration massage button . ŸThe heat function can be activated at any time with the shiatsu mas- sage, just press the button for infrared heat to activate the function; the respective LED lights up. Press the button again to deactivate the heat function. ŸAfter each use, switch the device off using the On/Off button and remove the plug from the mains socket.

3 Operating Use the buttons on the cable remote control to operate the massage seat cover:4.1 Cleaning andmaintenanceBefore cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply unit is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down.Clean the device with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes,aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the seat dry with a clean dry cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannotget into the appliance. Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again. i Undo any kinks in the cable. i Take care when rolling up the mains lead to avoid damaging it. iYou should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is 3 years from date

of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.

2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge

within the warranty period.

3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for

the unit or for the replacement parts.

4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non- observance of the user instructions. b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties. c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre. d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.

5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit
