USER MANUAL HD600 Carmen

The instructions include safety guidelines and other information important for the proper functioning of the appliance. Please read the instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place. If the appliance changes hands, be sure to give the instructions to the new owner. It is in your own interest to follow all safety guidelines.

• This appliance complies with the recognized rules of technology and the pertinent safety regulations for electrical appliances!
• To avoid damage or danger by

improper use, the instructions for use should be carefully kept and followed!

If you give the appliance to another person then you should also supply them with the instructions for use!
- The connecting cable of this appliance cannot be replaced. If the cord or the plug is damaged or defect, the appliance should be discarded.
- The voltage of the power source must be the same as specified on the rating plate!
- Connect the appliance only to AC current and to a socket with earthing contact. Do not pull the cable over sharp edges, clamp it into place or allow it to hang down! Keep the cable away from hot and damp areas!
- Before use check that the appliance

functions properly! The appliance should not be used if:

• the connecting cable is damaged
• the appliance shows noticeable damage

• the appliance has been dropped

• Never wind the mains cable around the appliance!

• Only insert the mains plug when the appliance is switched off.
• Only specialists are allowed to do reparations. Improperly reparations can cause considerable danger!
• There is always risk of injury when using electrical appliances improperly!
• To prevent unintentional misuse, keep the appliance stored away in a safe place.

Safety instructions when operating the appliance

• Always use the appliance for the appropriate purpose!
• This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 up as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or with lacking experience and/ or knowledge, if these persons are supervised or have been instructed how to use the appliance in a safe way and have understood the hazards which could arise from using it. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.
• Keep packaging material e.g. plastic bags out of the reach of children!

• Never use the appliance with wet hands, in the bath or shower or over a filled washbasin. If the appliance falls into water, remove the mains plug immediately. Under no circumstances reach into the water when the appliance is still connected to the power supply!

• Never put the appliance on soft cushions or blankets during operation!
• Do not place the appliance or the

WARNING! Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
- To avoid damaging of the hair the air outlet should not be too close to the hair!
- Do not cover the air intake or air outlet during use!
- Make sure that you switch off the appliance when not in continuous use!
- The appliance is fitted with an overload protection which switches off in the case of an overload (e.g. air outlet or intake is blocked). If the appliance switches off during use, please reset

the graduated switch to „0“ and wait for approx. 5 minutes. Then, switch on again!

• The installation of a faulty current protective device with a rated breaking current offers you additional safety by ensuring that 30mA will not be exceeded in the house installation. Let your installation electrician advise you!
• Remove the plug from the mains:
• if the unit does not function properly
• beforecleaning
• after every use
• Do not pull on the connecting cable and do not carry the unit by means of the cable!

Safety instructions for cleaning and maintenance

• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning and maintenance, or if faults occur during operation!
• Do not use the connecting cable to pull on the plug nor remove the plug from the socket with wet hands!

Operating instructions

0 = the appliance is switched off
1 = 250 watts, large quantity of hot air, fixing
2 = 500 watts, large quantity of hot air, optimal drying

Use

Always use this product combined with curlers!
- Dry your hair using a towel after washing.
- A hair strengthening product can first be applied to the hair if required.
- It is best to put the curlers in when your hair is still towel dry.
- Connect the hood onto the air opening of the appliance. Ensure that the hood is firmly fastened to the appliance.
- Use the adjustable carrying strap for easy use.
- Position the hood over the hair to be styled. The hood must be positioned flat and not in a creased manner.
- Insert the plug in the socket.
- Use the switch to regulate the required temperature.
- You can move freely with the hair drier within the length of the mains cable.

Cleaning and maintenance

Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the mains before cleaning. Do not submerge it in water. Protect the appliance against dust. Clean the ventilation grille occasionally with a fine brush to remove dust and hair. The appliance may be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and dried with a soft cloth.

The packing material and the unit and accessories are made of materials that can be recycled. Appropriate separation and disposal of the remaining materials helps recycling.

This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human

health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources.

To return your used appliance, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental recycling.

>Guarantee

The guarantee covers this product for a period of 2 years, with the exception of individual parts, beginning on the date of original purchase. Use of the guarantee does not result in extension of the guarantee period. The guarantee covers manufacturing faults and material faults in original parts. This guarantee does not include normal wear and tear and damage to the product by accident or misuse, abuse, alteration to the product or use inconsistent with the technical and/or safety instructions required.
