What are the basic operating instructions for the KTS200 heating blanket?

Can I machine wash my Cresta KTS200 heating blanket?

Yes. Before washing, unplug the blanket and remove the cable with the switch. Fold the blanket twice lengthwise and place it in the machine. Wash at max 30 °C, delicate cycle, with liquid detergent. Do not use a tumble dryer; air dry on a drying rack without clothespins.

What should I do if the heating blanket stops heating?

First check that the socket works and the cord is not damaged. If the problem persists, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact Cresta technical support or a qualified repairer. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, but not damage caused by misuse.

Can the heating blanket be used by children?

No. This product is not intended for children, nor for persons sensitive to heat or requiring assistance. Never leave a child unsupervised near the appliance when in use.

How can I tell if the blanket is damaged?

Regularly inspect the blanket, cable, and plug for any signs of wear, cuts, or deformation. If you notice damage, stop using it immediately and have the appliance checked before reusing it.

What temperature settings are available?

The switch offers 4 positions: 0 (off), 1 (minimum heat for prolonged use), 2 (medium heat), 3 (maximum heat for quick preheating). It is recommended to lower the level after preheating.

Can I use an extension cord with the heating blanket?

SAFETY INFORMATION

• Before connecting the appliance to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating label is compatible with your mains supply.

• Check the heating blanket carefully before each use, if you notice wear or damage.

• Do not use if you notice wear, damage or signs of improper use on the electric blanket, the switch or the cables. Return it to the store where you bought it.

• If the power supply cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by our service department, an authorised dealer or by qualified personnel.

• Only use the heating blanket for its intended use as in the instruction manual.

• Do not use the heating blanket with small children or persons who are disabled, in need of care or insensitive to heat.

• This device is not designed to be used by persons - including children - with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, or by persons with insufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless under observation by a person responsible for their safety, or unless they have been instructed in the use of the device.

• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.

• The heating blanket may not be operated while folded, creased or placed around the mattress.

• During use, the control switch and lead should not be placed on or under the heating blanket or be otherwise covered in any way.

• No safety pins or other pointed or sharp objects should be attached to the heating blanket or stuck into it.

• Never leave the heating blanket on when unattended.
• The device is only for private use and is not to be used in hospitals.
• Never handle a heating blanket that has fallen into water. Unplug it from the mains outlet immediately.
• Do not use the heating blanket in a damp or humid environment or if the heating blanket itself is damp. You may only use it again once it is completely dry.
• Never expose the control switch or leads to moisture of any kind.
• Keep the mains lead away from hot surfaces.
• Never carry, pull or twist the heating blanket by the mains lead and do not allow the lead to become tangled or snagged.
• Do not repair the heating blanket yourself in the event of damage or malfunction. Only have repairs carried out by an authorized specialist dealer or suitably qualified personnel.
• The heating blanket may only be operated with its special control unit.
• When storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before folding. When storing, do not place any objects on the electric blanket to prevent buckling.

OPERATION

SELECTING THE TEMPERATURE

To operate the device, first connect the switch to the electric blanket by plugging in the connector. Plug the power cord into the mains outlet.

The electric blanket heats up most quickly when you initially set the highest temperature level. We recommend than selecting the lowest temperature level when using the blanket for several hours.

AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF FUNCTION

The electric blanket is automatically switched off after approx. 3 hours. To switch on the electric blanket again, first select the position « 0 », and then after approximately 5 seconds the desired temperature level.

CLEANING AND CARE

• Always disconnect the power plug from the socket outlet before cleaning the electric blanket.
• Before washing, unplug it from the mains outlet and let it cool down.
• Unplug the control switch unit from the heating blanket using the connector on the underside.
• Please note that the electric blanket may not be dry cleaned, wrung out, dried by machine, pressed or ironed.
• The electric blanket may be washed by hand according to the instructions on the label. Never immerse the control switch unit in water as moisture must not be allowed to get into unit.
• In case of heavier soiling, this electric blanket can be washed in a washing machine.
• Set the washing machine to a particularly gentle, 30C cycle - woollens programme. Use a wool laundry detergent and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
• To dry, lay the electric blanket flat on a moisture-absorbent towel or mat. When the electric blanket is completely dry, it should be reconnected to the control switch unit in correct manner. The electric blanket may only be operated with its special control unit.
• When storing the appliance, allow it to cool down before folding. Store the electric blanket in a clean and dry place. When storing,

do not place any objects on the electric blanket to prevent buckling.
