This device can be used by children aged 8 and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the device and understand the resulting risks. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision. Always keep plastic packaging away from children as it poses a suffocation risk.

If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual sounds or smells, disconnect the cool bag from the power supply immediately. In these cases, the cool bag should not be used until it has been inspected by authorised service personnel. Never inhale smoke from a potential device fire. If you have inhaled smoke, however, consult a doctor. The inhalation of smoke can be harmful.

The cool bag must not become damaged in order to prevent hazards.

The cool bag must never be operated unattended in a vehicle parked in the sun because the ambient temperature would be too high.

Ensure that no fire sources (e.g. burning candles) are placed on or near the cool bag. It poses a fire hazard!

Do not store any explosive substances such as aerosol containers with flammable propellant, for example, in this device.

The cool bag must never be exposed to any direct heat sources (for example, heaters) or direct sunlight or artificial light. Also avoid contact with dripping water and splashes

and corrosive liquids. Do not use the cool bag near water. In particular, the cool bag should never be submerged in liquid (do not place any items filled with liquid, e.g. vases or drinks near the cool bag). Also ensure that the cool bag is never subjected to excessive shocks and vibrations. Furthermore, no foreign objects may penetrate the device. Otherwise, the cool bag could be damaged.

Connection cable

Always handle the connection cable using the cigarette lighter plug and do not pull on the connection cable itself.
Do not place the cool bag, furniture or other heavy objects on the connection cable and ensure that it is not kinked.
Never tie a knot in the connection cable and do not tie cables together. Ensure that the connection cable is placed so that no one can trip over it and it does not cause an obstruction.
Do not use adapter plugs or extension cables and do not make any alterations to the connection cable. If the power cable of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service representative or a similarly qualified person to prevent any safety hazards.

6. Prior to use

Remove the cool bag from the packaging.

Check the cool bag for signs of damage. The cool bag must not be used if it is damaged.

7. First use

Before using the cool bag for the first time, we recommend that you clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygiene purposes.

7.1. Filling the cool bag

Open the bag cover with drawstring [2]. Place the food and drinks to be cooled in the cool bag. It is best if you use previously cooled food and drinks. Close the bag cover with drawstring [2] after filling the cool bag. You also have three lined outer pockets (uncooled) [4] as further storage space.

CRIVIT CKT 12 A2 - Filling the cool bag - 1

Do not fill the cool bag directly with liquids or ice.

Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to the cool bag.

7.2. Transporting the cool bag

You can transport the cool bag by the handle [3] or by the shoulder strap [1]. You can adjust the shoulder strap [1] to your requirements.

7.3. Selecting a suitable location for setting up the cool bag

When selecting the location where the cool bag is to be set up, please note the following points:

CRIVIT CKT 12 A2 - Selecting a suitable location for setting up the cool bag - 1

The ventilation slots [7] must not be covered as there will be a danger of overheating otherwise.

CRIVIT CKT 12 A2 - Selecting a suitable location for setting up the cool bag - 2

Do not transport the cool bag in the passenger compartment of a vehicle while driving.

CRIVIT CKT 12 A2 - Selecting a suitable location for setting up the cool bag - 3

Place the connection cable in the vehicle so that the driver is not impeded as there will be a danger of accidents otherwise.

Secure the cool bag in the vehicle to prevent uncontrolled movements so that it cannot pose a risk for the vehicle occupants in the event of an accident or during a hard braking manoeuvre. Store the cool bag in the boot of the vehicle for safety reasons.

7.4. Switching the cool bag on or off

You must make sure that your vehicle has a 12 V car power supply. The cool bag must not be used with a 24 V car power supply.

Unwind the connection cable completely. Now insert the cigarette lighter plug [5] into a suitable cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. The cool bag is now switched on and begins to cool. The LED on the cigarette lighter plug [5] lights up green in operating mode. To switch off the cool bag, disconnect the cigarette lighter plug [5] from the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.

Since the cigarette lighter socket of some vehicles supplies power even if the ignition is switched off, you should disconnect the cigarette lighter plug [5] from the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle when leaving the vehicle. Otherwise, the battery of your car could run down to such an extent that you cannot start the car engine.

7.5. Energy saving tips

Do not expose the cool bag to direct sunlight.
Never operate the cool bag in a vehicle parked in the sun because the ambient temperature would be too high.
Only use previously cooled food and drink.
Do not open the cool bag for longer than necessary and close the bag cover completely with the drawstring [2].
Ensure that air can circulate between the items to be cooled. You can fill the cool bag at most, for example, with six upright 1L bottles or 18 upright 0.33L beverage cans (67mm in diameter x 115mm in height).

7.6. Using corkscrew/bottle opener

You will find a corkscrew/bottle opener [8] in the pocket with Velcro fastener [9] in the front lined outer pocket [4]. The corkscrew/bottle opener [8] is attached with a snap hook to a strap so that it cannot be lost. You can detach the corkscrew/bottle opener [8] from the snap hook in order to use it. Do not use the corkscrew/bottle opener [8] as a tool. The corkscrew/bottle opener [8] is to be used solely for opening bottles with corks or crown caps. Any other use is not as intended. When you open a corked bottle, you can use the knife of the corkscrew/bottle opener [8] to cut a capsule that may be present and then remove it. To use the knife that is intended solely for this purpose, fold it out and then fold it back again after use. The knife may only be used for this purpose and not for any other unintended tasks. Fold out the spiral of the corkscrew/bottle opener [8]. Place the corkscrew/bottle opener [8] on the cork and twist it in deeply. Now note the following images to open the bottle completely:

In these cases, the cool bag should not be used until it has been inspected by authorised service personnel. Only have qualified personnel carry out the maintenance work on the device. Never open the housing of the cool bag.

CRIVIT CKT 12 A2 - Replacing the fuse - 1

8.3. Cleaning

Disconnect the cool bag from the power supply before cleaning in order to prevent hazards.
Ensure that no liquid enters the housing in order to prevent hazards.

We recommend that you clean the inside of the cool bag with washing-up liquid, then rinse it with clear water and dry it after every use.

9. Storage when not in use

If the cool bag will not be used for a long period of time, please remove all objects from it. Ensure that the cool bag is kept in a clean, dry location without direct sunlight.

10. Troubleshooting

The cool bag is not working.

  • Check whether the cigarette lighter plug [5] is inserted correctly in the cigarette lighter socket.
  • Turn on the ignition of your vehicle because some vehicles supply power to the cigarette lighter socket only when the ignition is turned on.
  • The fuse has blown. Replace the fuse. Read the instructions in the "8.2. Replacing the fuse" section.

The cool bag does not cool properly.

  • Place the cool bag in a cooler location. Ensure that the cool bag is not exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Ensure that the ventilation slots [7] are not covered and that sufficient air circulation can take place.
