• Yourkettlealsofeaturesaboil-drycut-out,whichwillswitch off the kettle, should it accidentally be operated without water. In the event of such a safety cut-out unplug the applianceimmediatelyandletitcooldownforapprox.10 minutes. Afterwards, your kettle is ready for use again.

• Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete.

• Fullyunwindthepowercordandmakesurethatthepower cord underneath the appliance is clamped in the cable guide (9).

• Placetheapplianceonanevenandheatresistantsurface. Do not place it on top of a metal surface.

• Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket and boil4-5 kettles of water using fresh waterwith each boiling cycle. Do not use this water but pour it away.

babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation. Operation Yourapplianceistted(insidethespout)witharemovablescale lterthatpreventsscaleparticlesendingupinyourbeverage. 1.Openthelid(2)bypressingthelidopeningbutton(3)and hold the kettle in an upright position to ll it with water. MakesuretollintheMINamountofwater(0.5L)toavoid overheating. 4. Connect it to the mains and switch on the water kettle by

pressingtheOn/Offbutton(4)whichislocatedunderneath thelidopeningbutton(3).Theindicatorlight(6)insidethe appliance lights up.

5. As soon as the water boils the appliance switches off

YoucanstoptheboilingprocessanytimebypushingtheOn/ Offbutton(4). Attention: The boiling process is not stopped by only removing the unit from the power base. The unit must properly be switchedoff(0-position).Otherwise,onceputbackontothe base(7)theunitwillresumetheboilingprocessastheswitch isstillsettoOn-position. Waterleftoverfromapreviousboilingcyclecan bere-used in the next boiling cycle. However, always make sure that the water level is not too low. Always unplug the appliance after use. Dry-boil cut-out Yourkettleisequippedwithaboil-drycut-out,whichwillswitch off the kettle automatically, should it accidentally be operated without water or by not observing the Minimum water level. In the event of such a safety cut-out unplug the appliance immediately and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, your kettle is ready for use again. Cleaning and Care Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains and let it completely cool down. Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock! Clean the body of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth. Donotuseanyaggressivecleaningagentsand/orotherhard objects to clean the appliance. Openthelid(2)andremovethelter.Cleanitunderrunningtap water, if necessary, with a soft nylon brush. Dry it afterwards andreinsertthelterintothespout. DESCALING Descaleyourapplianceinregularintervals(approx.every3–618 months), depending on the frequency of use and the local waterquality.Neveruseanysharp,pointedormetalobjectsto remove limescale built up in the kettle. To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your appliance. Afterdescaling,alwaysboil4-5kettlesofwater,whichyoudo not use but pour away. Use fresh water with each boiling cycle. This procedure is necessary to remove any descaler residues in the kettle. Note: Descaler mixtures should not be poured down enamel coated sinks. Storage After use and after the appliance has completely cooled down windthepowercable(8)aroundthecordstorage(10). Keep it away from children and store it in a clean and dry place.
