Frequently Asked Questions - 20121 KORONA

How do I descale my Korona 20121 kettle?
Fill the kettle halfway with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar. Boil, then let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and boil again with clean water. Alternatively, use citric acid according to package instructions.
Why does my kettle not turn on?
Ensure the kettle is properly seated on the base and the power cord is plugged in. Check that the boil-dry protection has not been activated (if the kettle was used without water). Let it cool for 10 minutes and restart.
Can I boil other liquids besides water in the kettle?
No, this kettle is designed for water only. Boiling other liquids (milk, soup, etc.) can damage the heating element and void the warranty.
How do I clean the exterior of the kettle?
Unplug and let cool. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the kettle or base in water.
What does the 'MAX' line on the water window mean?
The MAX line indicates the maximum capacity (1.5 L). Do not fill above this line to avoid boiling over and potential burns.
Why does the kettle turn off before the water is fully boiling?
This likely indicates scale buildup on the heating element. Descale your kettle as described. The auto shut-off sensor may be tripped prematurely due to limescale.
Is the lid lockable?
The lid is not lockable but is securely closed with a push-button mechanism. Ensure it is fully closed before use to prevent splashes.
Can I open the lid while the kettle is boiling?
No. Do not open the lid during operation. Hot steam can cause burns. Wait until the kettle has turned off and cooled slightly.
How should I store the kettle when not in use?
Store the kettle on a dry, clean surface away from heat sources. Wrap the power cord around the base or store it loosely. Do not wrap tightly around the appliance.
What is the warranty period for the Korona 20121?
Korona typically offers a 1-year warranty for manufacturing defects. Keep your receipt and register the product online if required. Warranty does not cover misuse or scale damage.
