What types of desserts can I make with the Bestron AFDM1301 ice cream maker?

You can prepare fruit sorbets using frozen fruits (bananas, strawberries, mangoes, etc.) as well as frozen yogurt desserts using frozen yogurt cubes. The appliance is ideal for creamy lactose-free ice cream.

Do I need to pre-freeze the ingredients before using them?

Yes, to achieve a frozen texture, the fruits or yogurt must be frozen for at least 24 hours before being put into the machine. Cut the fruits into small pieces before freezing.

How to assemble the machine for the first time?

Place the mixer in the direction of rotation, install the dispenser by turning to the left, then lock the mixing block. Insert the tamper into the feed tube. Do not plug in until fully assembled.

Can I wash the machine parts in the dishwasher?

The removable parts (mixer, dispenser, tamper) can be washed in warm soapy water. It is not recommended to put them in the dishwasher, as this could deform them. The motor unit must be cleaned with a damp cloth.

What to do if the machine does not start?

Check that the switch is in the 1 position and that the plug is properly connected. Also ensure that the bowl and lid are correctly locked, otherwise the safety prevents starting.

Can this machine grind nuts or bones?

No, the machine is designed only for soft fruits or frozen yogurts. Do not chop hard foods such as nuts, bones, horseradish, as this could damage the mechanism.

How long is the warranty?

Bestron offers a warranty of 60 months (5 years) from the date of purchase, covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, or unauthorized repairs.

Can I use fresh fruits instead of frozen?

It is recommended to use frozen fruits to achieve the ideal texture. If you use fresh fruits, cut them into small pieces and freeze them for 24 hours before use for optimal results.

How to clean the motor unit?

Unplug the appliance and use a clean, damp cloth with a mild detergent. Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

Where can I find after-sales service?

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - Electricity and heat

• Before use please verify that the mains voltage is the same as indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.
  • Make sure that you always use an earthed wall socket to connect the appliance.
  • Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use.
• Remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling the plug, not the power cord.

• Never use the appliance outdoors.
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface where it cannot fall.

OPERATION - Using for the first time

1. Remove the packaging.
2. Clean the device to remove any manufacturing residues (see "Cleaning and maintenance").

OPERATION - Assembling

- Make sure the device is placed on a stable, flat surface. Do not connect the appliance to a wall socket.

1. Place the grinder (2) in the filling tube (3). Place the dispenser at the front side of the filling tube and turn it to the left to lock in place.

1. Place the axis of the of the grinder in the opening of the base (5), with the dispenser (1) facing downwards. Turn left to lock in place.

OPERATION - Preparation

With this appliance you'll be able to make delicious fruit sorbets from frozen fruit. A tasty treat for your family, friends and yourself.

You can buy frozen fruit in your supermarket, like raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, peaches, etc. This frozen fruit lends itself perfectly for the preparation of your fruit sorbets. You may also choose to use fresh fruit though. In that case, you'll have to cut the fruit into small pieces, so they'll fit through the filling tube (8) of the appliance. Afterwards, place the fruit into your freezer for at least 24 hours.

Tip: The texture of bananas is extremely suitable to be used as primary ingredient. It is preferable to use bananas in all variations of your sorbet recipes.

Tip: Preferably use overripe fruit, fruit which may not look very appetizing anymore. These fruits retain the most flavour when frozen and will make you sorbet taste all the better for it!

Experiment with all kinds of fruit, like bananas, apples, pears, peaches, mangos, red fruit, oranges. etc. to get to the tastiest variations. You may also add pieces of chocolate, nuts or cookies. You can even add sugar to taste if wanted.

Tip: This appliance is suitable for people wo are lactose-intolerant. Enjoy the tastiest fruit sorbets without adding cream, milk or other lactoseproducts.

Frozen Yogurt Desserts

Surprise your family or friends with a delicious frozen yogurt dessert. Simply use yogurt as your main ingredient instead of bananas. Fill an icecube-tray with any yogurt-product and place the tray in your freezer for at least 24 hours. With the frozen cubes you'll be able to make a Frozen Yogurt dessert in a snap.

OPERATION - Use

Only use the presser supplied with the device to push ingredients into the device.

1. Put the plug into the socket.
2. Place a dish under the dispenser.
3. Push the on/off-switch into the "I" position. The device is now turned on.
4. Use the presser to push ingredients into the filling tube.
5. The dish will fill with your delicious dessert!

Tip: Follow each type of fruit with a serving of the main ingredient. That way you'll create an evenly tasting mixture for your dessert.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Take the plug from the wall socket.
2. Disassemble the device by following the steps described in the chapter "Assembling" in the opposite direction.

- Clean the device after each use.

If you are experiencing difficulty in removing the grinding disc, place the flat edge of a spoon at the edge between the grinding disc and the head. This way, you can tilt the grinding disc out of the head.

1. Clean the parts in warm water with soap.

2. Clean the housing with a clean cloth moistened with a disinfectant cleaner, and dry thoroughly.

- Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) to clean the device.

- Do not immerse the motor unit in water, or in other liquids.

GUARANTEE TERMS

The importer guarantees the appliance against defects caused by manufacturing and/or material faults for 60 months from the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions.

1. No charges will be made for labour costs or materials during the warranty period. Any repairs carried out during the warranty period do not extend the warranty period.

2. The importer automatically becomes the owner of any faulty parts that he replaces or a faulty appliance (in the event of replacement of the appliance).

3. All claims submitted under warranty must be accompanied by the original bill of sale.

4. Claims under warranty must be submitted to the dealer where the appliance was purchased or to the importer.

5. The warranty is issued solely to the first purchaser and cannot be transferred.

6. The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

a. Accidents, incorrect use, wear and/or neglect. b. Faulty installation and/or use in a manner contravening the prevailing legal, technical or safety regulations.

c. Connection to a mains voltage other than the voltage specified on the type plate.

d. Unauthorized modifications.

e. Repairs carried out by third parties.

f. Careless transport, i.e. without suitable packaging materials or protection.

1. No claims may be made under this warranty for:

a. Losses incurred during transport.

b. The removal or changing of the appliance's serial number.

1. The guarantee does not cover power cords, lamps or glass parts.

2. No claims can be submitted under this warranty for damage other than the repair or replacement of faulty parts. The importer can never be held responsible for any consequential loss or damage or any other consequences, resulting either directly or indirectly from the appliance supplied by the importer.

3. In case of claims under guarantee you can contact your dealer where the appliance is purchased. Bestron offers you also the possibility to send the appliance directly to our Service Department. Do not send your appliance without consulting us. The package may be refused and any any costs will be for your account.
