SRHT 1600 D4 Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are a constituent of this product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use this product only as described and only for the specifi ed areas of application. Retain these instructions for future reference. Intended use This hairdryer is intended exclusively for the drying and styling of human hair, under no circumstances is it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of synthetic material. This hairdryer is intended for domestic use only. Pay heed to all of the information in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions. , at 60/50 Hz. ► Under no circumstances should the appliance be submersed in liquids or liquids be allowed to penetrate the housing. Do not expose the appli- ance to moisture and do not use it outdoors. If liquid gets into the housing, disconnect the ap- pliance from the mains power socket immediate- ly and have it repaired by a qualifi ed technician. ► In event of operating malfunctions and before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the mains power socket. ► To disconnect it, pull only on the plug itself, not on the power cable.GB

ELECTRIC SHOCK! ► Do not wrap the power cable around the appli- ance and protect the cable from being damaged. ► To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or by a quali- fi ed technician. ► Do not kink or crush the power cable and route it in such a way as to prevent people from step- ping on or tripping over it. ► Do not use extension cables. ► Never touch the hairdryer, the power cable or the plug with wet hands. ► Disconnect the hairdryer from the power source immediately after use. DANGER! ELECTRIC SHOCK! ► You must not open or repair the housing of the hairdryer. If you do so, the safety of the appli- ance is no longer assured and the warranty will become void. Arrange for the hairdryer to be serviced and repaired only by qualifi ed specialists. Never use the appliance near water, especial- ly in vicinity of sinks, baths or other similar vessels. The proximity of water is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off . Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket after use. As additional protection, the installation of a residual current circuit- breaker with an activation power rating of not more than 30 mA is recommended for the power circuit in the bathroom. Ask your electrician for advice.GB

RISK OF INJURY! ► This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years or more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised, or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks. ► Children must not play with the appliance. ► Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are aged 8 or over and are supervised. ► NEVER lay the hairdryer down or leave it unsu- pervised when it is switched on. ► Never place the hairdryer close to sources of heat and protect the power cable against potential damage. ► Do not use the hairdryer if it has been dropped or is damaged in any way. WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! ► Do not cover the air intake grill while operating the appliance. Clean the grill at regular intervals. ► The hairdryer becomes hot when it is in use. Hold it only by the grip when it is hot. WARNING! DAMAGE TO PROPERTY! ► Always set the voltage selector on the appli- ance to the rating of the local power supply. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you operate the appliance on a 220 - 240 V mains supply when the voltage selector switch is set to 120 V (or vice versa). This can damage the ap- pliance and invalidate the guarantee. Adjust the voltage selector with a coin. Ask your energy supplier or the hotel staff about the rating of the local electrical mains supply. Do not insert the plug into a power socket and switch your travel hairdryer on until this has been clarifi ed.GB

SRHT 1600 D4 Ion function This appliance is equipped with an ionising function. When drying the hair using a hairdryer, the hair takes on a static charge and to starts to “fl y”. The ionisation function ensures that this charging of the hair is neutralised and cancelled. The hair becomes soft, supple, shiny and easier to style. Operation

1) Fold the travel hairdryer 1 open until the handle 3 audibly

2) Adjust the voltage selector 4 with a coin until a click is heard.

Ask your energy supplier or the hotel staff about the rating of the local electrical mains supply.

3) Insert the plug into the mains power socket.

5) Switch the hairdryer 1 on with the function switch 6.

The travel hairdryer 1 is equipped with a three-position switch: “0” (Off ), “1” (gentle airfl ow, warm) and “2” (strong airfl ow, hot). In the event of overheating, the travel hairdryer 1 switches itself off automatically.51 SRHT 1600 D4

Drying and styling hair ■ To dry hair quickly, we recommend a short time at switch position “2”, and afterwards you can switch to position “1” for forming and styling. If you wish to create a cold air stream, press and hold the “Coolshot” button 7. ■ You can use the supplied styling nozzle 8 to apply a dir ected airfl ow to shape and style your hair. WARNING! DAMAGE TO PROPERTY! Do not pack and transport the hairdryer 1 until it has com- pletely cooled do wn. Otherwise, it could damage other items. Cleaning DANGER! ELECTRIC SHOCK! ► Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before cleaning the appliance. ► UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you immerse the appliance in w ater or other liquids during cleaning! ► After cleaning, ensure that the travel hairdryer is completely

SRHT 1600 D4 Cleaning the housing ■ Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild soap solution to clean the housing and styling nozzle 8. ■ Dry all parts thoroughly before re-using the appliance. Cleaning the air intake grill WARNING! RISK OF FIRE! ► Clean the air intake grill 2 at r egular intervals with a soft brush. ■ Press the tabs on the air intake grill 2 lightly together and at the same time pull the air intak e grill 2 off the hairdryer 1. ■ Clean the openings of the air intake grill 2 with a sof t brush. ■ Push the air intake grill 2 back onto the hair dryer 1 so that the tabs on the air intake grill 2 click back onto the recesses on the hairdryer 1 housing. Storage WARNING! DAMAGE TO PROPERTY! Do not pack and transport the hairdryer 1 until it has com- pletely cooled do wn. Otherwise, it could damage other items. ■ Clean the hairdryer 1 as described in the section “Cleaning”. ■ Store the hairdryer 1 in a dust-fr ee, dry location.53 SRHT 1600 D4

Troubleshooting ■ If your hairdryer 1 does not function as expected, fi rst remove the plug from the mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool down for a few minutes. The appliance is fi tted with an overheating protector! ■ If the appliance still does not function, contact the service depart- ment listed under “Guar antee and service”. Disposal Never dispose of the appliance in the normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of the European 2012/19/EU WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electron- ic Equipment). Dispose of the appliance via an approved disposal company or your municipal waste facility. Please observe the currently applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal centre if you are in any doubt. The packaging is made from environmentally friendly ma- terial and can be disposed of at your local recycling plant.GB

SRHT 1600 D4 Warranty and service The warranty provided for this appliance is 3 years from the date of purchase. This appliance has been manufactured with care and inspected meticulously prior to delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a war- ranty claim, please contact your Customer Service by telephone. This is the only way to guarantee free return of your goods. NOTE ► The warranty only covers claims for material and manufacturing

efects, not for transport damage, wearing parts or for dam- age to fragile components such as switches and batteries. This appliance is intended solely for private use and not for com- mercial purposes. The warranty is deemed void if this product has been subjected to improper or inappropriate handling, abuse or modifi cations which were not carried out by one of our authorised service centres. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs made under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be re- ported immediately after unpacking, or no later than two days after the date of purchase. Repairs made after expiry of the warranty period are chargeable.55 SRHT 1600 D4
