SRHT 1600 D4 Introduction Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are a constituent of this product. They contain important information about safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Intended use This hairdryer is intended exclusively for the drying and styling of human hair, under no circumstances is it to be used for wigs and hairpieces made of synthetic material. This hairdryer is intended for domestic use only. Pay heed to all of the information in this operating manual, especially the safety instructions. The proximity of water is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off . Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket after use. As additional protection, the installation of a residual current circuit- breaker with an activation power rating of not more than 30 mA is recommended for the power circuit in the bathroom. SRHT 1600 D4 Ion function This appliance is equipped with an ionising function. When drying the hair using a hairdryer, the hair takes on a static charge and to starts to “fl y”. The ionisation function ensures that this charging of the hair is neutralised and cancelled. The hair becomes soft, supple, shiny and easier to style. Operation

Drying and styling hair ■ To dry hair quickly, we recommend a short time at switch position “2”, and afterwards you can switch to position “1” for forming and styling. If you wish to create a cold air stream, press and hold the “Coolshot” button 7. ■ You can use the supplied styling nozzle 8 to apply a dir ected airfl ow to shape and style your hair. WARNING! DAMAGE TO PROPERTY! Do not pack and transport the hairdryer 1 until it has com- pletely cooled do wn. Otherwise, it could damage other items. Cleaning DANGER! ELECTRIC SHOCK! ► Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before cleaning the appliance. ► UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you immerse the appliance in w ater or other liquids during cleaning! ► After cleaning, ensure that the travel hairdryer is completely

SRHT 1600 D4 Cleaning the housing ■ Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild soap solution to clean the housing and styling nozzle 8. ■ Dry all parts thoroughly before re-using the appliance. Cleaning the air intake grill WARNING! RISK OF FIRE! ► Clean the air intake grill 2 at r egular intervals with a soft brush. ■ Press the tabs on the air intake grill 2 lightly together and at the same time pull the air intak e grill 2 off the hairdryer 1. ■ Clean the openings of the air intake grill 2 with a sof t brush. ■ Push the air intake grill 2 back onto the hair dryer 1 so that the tabs on the air intake grill 2 click back onto the recesses on the hairdryer 1 housing. Storage WARNING! DAMAGE TO PROPERTY! Do not pack and transport the hairdryer 1 until it has com- pletely cooled do wn. Otherwise, it could damage other items. ■ Clean the hairdryer 1 as described in the section “Cleaning”. ■ Store the hairdryer 1 in a dust-fr ee, dry location.53 SRHT 1600 D4

Troubleshooting ■ If your hairdryer 1 does not function as expected, fi rst remove the plug from the mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool down for a few minutes. The appliance is fi tted with an overheating protector! ■ If the appliance still does not function, contact the service depart- ment listed under “Guar antee and service”. Disposal Never dispose of the appliance in the normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of the European 2012/19/EU WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electron- ic Equipment). NOTE ► The warranty only covers claims for material and manufacturing

efects, not for transport damage, wearing parts or for dam- age to fragile components such as switches and batteries. This appliance is intended solely for private use and not for com- mercial purposes. The warranty is deemed void if this product has been subjected to improper or inappropriate handling, abuse or modifi cations which were not carried out by one of our authorised service centres. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs made under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be re- ported immediately after unpacking, or no later than two days after the date of purchase.
