IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

⚠️ Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance.

Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.

» Only use the appliance in the way indicated in this instruction manual.
» Should you hand over the appliance to ano-
ther user, make sure to hand over the instruction manual together with the appliance.
» Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
» People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance without supervision or instructions of a responsible person.
» Close supervision is necessary if children are near the appliance in order to avoid that they use it as a toy.
» From time to time check the appli- ance and its cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appli-

ance shows any signs of damage. In that case, all repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician (*). Never use the appliance if it shows visible damage.

» Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
» Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.
» Never use the appliance near hot surfaces. Do not stand the appliance on hot surfaces (e.g. a cooking plate) or near a flame.
» Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.
» Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
» Never use accessories which are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
» Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
» Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.
» Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.
» Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance. Never touch the hot parts of the appliance.
» Bread can burn. Therefore, do not use the appliance near or under curtains or other inflammable materials, as a fire might occur. Be careful.
» Do not use the appliance for defrosting food (except frozen bread) and only insert unbuttered slices of bread of which the thickness does not risk to prevent the bread from coming

up. Be extremely strict about this as toasters are the cause of many fi res when these elementary safety precautions are not observed.

» Empty the appliance frequently of breadcrumbs. Make sure the appliance is always unplugged before emptying it. Check the « Cleaning » section

When cleaning the appliance, do not use metallic scourers in order to avoid any future risk of electric short-circuit.
» Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.

(*) Competent qualified service: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this service.

OPERATION

• Before using your appliance for the first time, check if it is fully unpacked. Check if any object has fallen into the slot.
• In the first time, connect the appliance only to a mains earthed wall socket. A grommet on the bottom of the appliance enables to maintain the cord by positioning it to the backside of the appliance PICTURE A.

- Place the bread slices in the slot PICTURE B.

- Press down the bread carriage handle (2) until it stops PICTURE C. In the meantime, the grid inside the slot will tighten around the bread to keep it in the centre of the toaster. If the handle comes up immediately, check if the appliance is plugged in as it blocks when the unit is plugged in.

- You can adjust the browning intensity to obtain a more or less toasted bread by positioning the browning control selector (7) to one of the degrees marked from 1 to 6. Therefore you only have to turn clockwise to increase the intensity, and anticlockwise to decrease it. The higher the number is, the more toasted the bread will be PICTURE D.

- During the functioning, if you think that the bread is toasted enough or for another reason, you can break the heating process, simply by pressing the cancel button (5) PICTURE E.

stop (E)

- The reheat button (4) allows you to reheat already toasted bread or to toast bread which is not toasted enough during a short time without modifying the browning degree.

Press this button after having switched on the appliance with the bread carriage handle. The reheating will always take about 26 seconds, no matter what browning degree you have selected PICTURE F.

stop (F)

- The defrost button (3) allows you to toast the bread that has been frozen beforehand. Press this button after having switched on the appliance with the bread carriage handle. The set toasting time is automatically prolonged PICTURE G.

stop (W) (G)

- At the end of the heating process, the handle comes up again and you can take the toasted bread out.

- Always unplug the appliance after use and let it cool down before handling or storing it.

- When storing your appliance, wind

the cord around the cord storage facility underneath the appliance and attach the end of the cord in the notch.

RACK FOR BUN WARMING

Your appliance is provided with a detachable bun warmer (1). To warm the buns just place the support on the top of the toaster PICTURE H.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the toaster is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
• To remove bread crumbs slide the crumb tray (6) situated on the side of the appliance. To open it, press lightly on the plastic part PICTURE I

and slide it horizontally PICTURE J. To close it, slide it back in until it clicks.

• To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth. Do not clean with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool, as this will damage the finish.
• NEVER IMMERSE THE TOASTER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
• All other maintenance and repair should be performed by a qualified technician. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been opened inappropriately.

GUARANTEE

Our products are covered by a guarantee of 2 years from date of purchase. This guarantee which covers all material and manufacturing defects. No guarantee claims will be accepted for broken accessories, defects resulting from inappropriate use, excessive wear due to intensive use, wrong use due to the non-observance of the instruction manual, or failure to descale where appropriate or otherwise clean/maintain your item in line with the instructions and good practise. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been modified or if some attempts have been made to repair the appliance. In such case, the vendor cannot be held responsible in case of accidents.

In the event of claim, in the first instance, please contact your vendor and return him your complete appliance. The guarantee will only be valid if the date of purchase and signature of the vendor is clearly indicated on the guarantee card or if a copy of the receipt is sent with the appliance that needs repair.

Or send the appliance well packed and freight prepaid to our customer service with a short description of the default in capital letters with the mention „Repair under guarantee“ together with the guarantee card or receipt.

In case of a defective accessory, the complete appliance will not be exchanged, but only the accessory will be sent free of charge. In such case, do not return the complete appliance but only order the accessory! In case of glass damages, glass spare parts will be charged.

Pieces undergoing wear and tear (e.g. Motor brushes, dough hooks, driving belts, spare remote controls, spare toothbrushes, lighting, etc.) as well as cleaning and maintenance or the exchange of worn out pieces are not covered by the guarantee and will thus be charged!

AFTER THE GUARANTEE PERIOD

Repairs after the guarantee period can be performed at a charge by a competent qualified technician or a repair service.

PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT-DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC

In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol on the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it free of charge to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.
