Frequently Asked Questions - XD8N iDance

How do I connect my smartphone via Bluetooth to the XD8N?

Turn on the device with the STD BY button, then press and hold the PAIRING button until the Bluetooth indicator flashes. On your smartphone, enable Bluetooth and select 'XD8N' from the device list. Once connected, the indicator stays on.

How to use the microphone with the XD8N?

Plug your microphone into one of the Mic 1/2 IN inputs (6.35 mm jack). Use the + and - buttons to adjust the microphone echo level. Ensure the microphone is in good condition and the master volume is not too low.

How to activate the lighting effects (disco ball and LEDs)?

Press the MODE DISCO LED button to select different effects. Hold it down to turn the disco ball on or off. The LED METER button changes the LED panel effects.

What to do if Bluetooth does not connect?

Check that no other device is already connected to the XD8N. Hold the PAIRING button to restart the search. Place your smartphone within 2 meters during pairing. Move away from metal obstacles or thick walls.

Why is there no sound?

Check that the device is turned on (STD BY button). Ensure the master volume is set to an audible level and the selected source is active. If using a Bluetooth device, check its volume.

How to adjust the microphone echo?

Use the + or - buttons marked for echo (usually next to the volume). Press + to increase the echo effect, - to decrease it.

The XD8N turns off by itself, is that normal?

Yes, the device automatically goes into standby mode after 15 minutes without sound or activity. To turn it back on, simply press the STD BY button.

Can I connect an electric guitar to the XD8N?

Yes, the XD8N accepts a guitar via one of the microphone inputs (6.35 mm jack). Plug in your guitar and adjust the volume and echo as needed.

How to clean the XD8N?

Unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive products.

The sound is distorted or saturated, what to do?

Reduce the master volume of the XD8N and the volume of your source (smartphone, microphone). Check that the cables are properly connected. If the problem persists, try disconnecting the sources one by one to identify the cause.

The iDance XD8N is a Wireless all-in-one DJ Party box System with an integrated mixer, which accepts microphone, guitar, line-in audio, and stereo Bluetooth wireless audio up to 10 meters. Connect the adapter to the main unit and plug the included adapter into AC wall socket. Press the STD BY button to turn on power. Press again turn unit to standby.

NOTES

If the adapter does not fit properly, turn it over and again.
Unplug the power adapter when the unit not operation or unused for long periods of the time.

Connecting Bluetooth to your smartphone / tablet

1. Press the STD BY button to turn on, hold the PAIRING button to connect your external Bluetooth device.
2. On your smartphone / Tablet, turn on Bluetooth and enable device scanning.
3. When XD8N shows on the your smartphone / tablet, select it to connect it to XD8N
4. When both devices are successfully connected, you are ready to play music wirelessly from your device.
5. Press the PLAY button to start music playback.
6. Press / hold the NEXT / PREV button of unit or press the NEXT / PREV of external Bluetooth device to switch between music tracks.
7. Hold the PAIRING button to reconnect other Bluetooth device.

Power Management Function:

Unit will automatically go to standby mode after 15 minutes without sound output or operation. To resume operation, simply press the STD BY button to turn on unit

The mic holder and screws accessory are included in the box.
Use the screwdriver to fixing the mic holder on the right side of cabinet.
The proposed mic holder location is under MIC-JACK 8 inches (200mm).

If you have followed the instructions and are having difficulty operating the unit, locate the PROBLEM in the left column below. Check the corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION column to locate and fix the problem.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION
Noise on speaker output when microphone is connected and turn on XD8N	Make sure your microphone or microphone cable is in good condition, grounded and shielded. Internal gain of voice processing could cause vibration from poor ground noise.
Bluetooth cannot connect to XD8N Make sure no other device from your friend or family is connected to XD8N. When XD8N Bluetooth is connected, press BLUETOOTH button would stay ON. So make sure XD8N indicating Bluetooth is ready to connect. Also make sure your smartphone / tablet is located close to XD8N less than 2 meters when pairing. ■ Hold the BLUETOOTH button to reconnect again.
Intermittent Bluetooth music streaming	The wireless Bluetooth distance of XD8N is about 7-10 meter in open area. Below conditions could block you Bluetooth signal and please ensure you would get rid of those: ■ Metal protection on case for your phone/tablet ■ Metal or wall is blocking in between your phone / tablet and XD8N ■ Another Bluetooth device is working close toXD8N
No sound on selected source	■ Ensure that the XD8N is powered ON ■ Check the master volume on the XD8N ■ Check the volume level on paired Bluetooth device ■ Remove the power adapter and reconnect again.
