General description (Fig. 1)

① Motor unit
② Foldable frame
③ Skewer

A. Spit rod (2 parts) with handle
B. One pair of meat forks
C. Bearing part

Before first use

1 Thoroughly clean the skewer parts and the metal frame with hot soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge or in the dishwasher before you use the rotisserie for the first time.
2 To insert the batteries (two D-cell batteries) into the motor unit, push to open the battery compartment.

Note:

Before inserting batteries into the battery compartment of the equipment, the contacts of both equipment and batteries should be checked for cleanliness and correct positioning.

-If necessary, clean with a damp cloth and dry before inserting.

It is of extreme importance that batteries are inserted correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).
- Follow equipment instructions carefully and use the recommended batteries.
- Failure to follow the instructions, which should be available with the equipment, can result in malfunction and damage of the equipment and/or batteries.
It is advantageous to remove batteries immediately from equipment which has ceased to function satisfactorily, or when not in use for a long period.

-Be sure to switch off the equipment after use.

-Store batteries in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight.

  • Batteries which have been cold-stored should be put into use as soon as possible after return to ambient temperature.
  • Replace all batteries of a set at the same time. Newly purchased batteries should not be mixed with partially exhausted ones. Batteries of different electrochemical systems, grades or brands should not be mixed.
  • Failure to observe these precautions may result in some batteries in a set being driven beyond their normal exhaustion point and thus increase the probability of leakage.
3 Screw the two spit rod parts together and fix the handle by screwing it on the spit rod (Fig. 2).

Using the appliance

1 Unfold the metal frame until all four walls are stable and opposite sides are parallel (Fig. 3).
2 Attach the frame onto the base of the grill (Fig. 4).
3 Attach the motor unit on the frame (Fig. 5). Be sure to align the two guiding slots to slide the motor unit securely onto the frame.
4 Slide the screw end of the bearing part along the spit rod to the handle (Fig. 6). To check proper placement, put the end of the spit rod into the hole of the motor unit and the spit rod into the metal frame recesses. The rounding section of the bearing part should fit exactly in the opening of the frame to allow the rod to turn freely. Turn the screw to securely fix the bearing part in place on the spit rod (Fig. 7).

10 ENGLISH

Note: It is not necessary to detach the handle and the bearing part after each use.

5 Remove the skewer from the metal frame. Slide one of the meat forks on the spit rod and spit the chicken (or other meat) on the skewer. Slide the second meat fork on the spit rod (Fig. 8).

Caution: Be careful that the metal frame does not tilt when removing the spit rod from the motor unit.

6 Stick both meat forks into the meat at slightly different angles to hold food more securely. Next, center the meat on the skewer and fix the meat forks to the rod by screwing them down.

Tip: Use some kitchen or butcher twine to truss the drumsticks and wings of the chicken on the skewer.

7 Insert the skewer into the motor unit and place it on the frame (Fig. 9).

Note: The bearing part should be aligned with the opening of the side wall (Fig. 7). The meat should be centered on the skewer allowing it to freely turn between the metal walls.

8 Plug the grill into the power outlet. Operate the grill according to the user manual by turning the control knob to the "On" (I) position (Fig. 10) and switch on the motor unit by pressing the "On" (I) button to start the skewer turning (Fig. 11).

Note: When you marinate food, only use a little oil and brush the marinade lightly onto the food as the oil causes extra smoke.

9 Grill the chicken (or other meat) until it has reached the desired doneness and browning (see the cooking table for suggested cooking times).

Tip: Always check internal temperature using an instant-read thermometer. Be careful thermometer probe does not touch the metal spit as this would cause an inaccurate reading.

10 When you have finished grilling, switch off the appliance and the rotisserie motor unit, and remove the plug from the wall outlet.

Caution: The skewer, spit parts, metal frame, and grill are very hot, use kitchen gloves to remove the skewer from the grill.

Cleaning

Clean the rotisserie and grill after every use.

1 After grilling, let all rotisserie parts cool down completely.
2 To clean the base of the grill, see the cleaning instructions in the user manual of the grill.
3 Remove all detachable parts.
4 Clean all detachable parts (except the motor unit of the skewer) with dishwashing liquid and a non-abrasive sponge or clean the parts in the dishwasher after each use. Dry thoroughly before storing. Do not soak for prolonged periods of time. Never use harsh abrasives or corrosive products.
5 Store in a cool, dry place.
6 The motor unit can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Note: Do not clean the motor unit in the dishwasher. See the separate cleaning table for further instructions.
