• Do not excessively bend this product. The built-in sensor may be damaged.

• The device must not be used close to any source of vibration (e.g. washing machines, loud music etc.) as the vibrations could affect the functions of the device.
• Only use the device within the ambient conditions mentioned in the chapter "technical specifications!"
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

With the Sleeppace Sleep Monitor you can monitor sleep depth, sleep duration, heart- and breathing frequency and movements during sleep. With this you are able to analyse your sleeping habits thoroughly.

2.1 Items supplied and packaging

Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use it and contact your dealer or your service centre.

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required. If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your dealer without delay.

WARNING

Please ensure that polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!

2.2 Charging the battery

To charge the battery, connect the device with the included USB cable to the USB-connection for charging cable 6 and to a PC or a laptop or an USB power supply. The USB connection 6 is suitable for charging only and not for the transfer of data. The charging state of the built-in battery will be indicated by the indicator LED 5 as follows:

Indicator LED ⑤ flashes red each 2 seconds: Battery empty-please charge immediately!

Indicator LED ⑤ lights up in red constantly: Battery charging.

Indicator LED lights up in green constantly: Battery fully charged.

Battery safety instructions

• Do not disassemble or dismantle the battery! Danger of explosion!
• Keep away from fire and hear sources! Danger of explosion!
• Do not dispose used batteries in the household refuse; put them in a hazardous waste container or take them to a battery collection point, at the shop where they were purchased!

2.3 Downloading the app

Now activate Bluetooth® on your iOS- or Android device.

Download and install the app on your smartphone. You can download the app free of charge from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search for „Sleepace".

iOS: Version 7 and newer. Android: Version 4.3 and newer. Bluetooth® 4.0 and up.

3.1 Activating and positioning the sleep monitor

Depending on the position of the magnetic cover ⑦ the Sleepace Sleep Monitor is in

active or inactive mode:

The Sleeppace Sleep Monitor needs to be positioned correctly between mattress and sheet in order to function properly:

1. Remove the magnetic cover 7
2. Put the piezo strap ② between mattress and sheet as shown approximately at the height of your chest. The housing ④ will be fixed on the side of the bed (on the sheet).
3. Replace the magnetic cover ⑦ in that way, that the device is in active mode. Therefore turn the magnetic cover by 180^ accordingly (the green LED ⑤ will light up shortly).
4. Lay down in your bed.

3.2 Connecting to the app

Make sure, sleep monitor and your smartphone are switched on and Bluetooth® is activated on your smartphone. Start the app and connect your smartphone with the Sleepace Sleep Monitor. You need to create an user account upon first start. Follow the instructions given by the app to start the sleep recording. The monitor only has to be activated via the app before you go to bed. It is not necessary to have a Bluetooth® connection to your smartphone during your sleep. Then you can fall asleep. During short interruptions of sleep (e.g. going to the bathroom) the device keeps on recording. If longer interruptions (more than 60 minutes) occur, the device will stop the recording process and switch itself off. You may have to re-activate it then.

After awakening, you can stop the recording via the app and therewith switch the device off. The recorded data will automatically be transferred to the app. The device will also switch off automatically after 60 minutes of non-usage. Connect the app with the monitor again to read out the recorded data. You now may check the recorded data in the app or recall historical data then. The app offers various possibilities for evaluating your sleep quality, e.g. the recording of your heart and respiratory frequency, movements during sleep and sleep duration etc.

3.3 Sources of error

If the sleep recording was not successful or the device cannot be used correctly, different reasons may be the source of the error. The following list shows some of these sources of error - if you cannot solve the problem with this list, please contact the customer service.

Error: No connection between sleep monitor and app.

Solution: Make sure, that the battery is fully charged, that the distance between device and your smartphone is less than 10 meters and that Bluetooth® and sleep monitor are active.

Error: You cannot check last night's recordings.

Solution: Probably no Bluetooth® connection was established or the recording was not started correctly via the app (touch „Start").

Error: Signals are still being monitored although nobody is lying on the bed.

Solution: The device receives other signals. Make sure, that the surrounding area of the device is free of devices, which emit vibrations (like e.g. washing machines or fans). Position the sleep monitor correctly in the height of your chest between mattress and sheet (and not in height of your shoulders or hips or on the sheet).

Error: You cannot create an user account within the app.

Solution: To create an user account, your smartphone needs to be connected to the Internet.

Error: The recorded data are unclear / not logical.

Solution: Place the monitor in that way, that only the signals of one person can be recorded.

4 Miscellaneous

4.1 Disposal

This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste.

All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.

Consult your municipal authority or your supplier for information about disposal.

5.1 Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is. The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observation of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear (e.g. batteries etc.).

1. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
