How to connect the TLSF1008D switch?

Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or modem to one of the switch ports. Then connect your devices (PC, printer, etc.) to the other ports. Finally, power the switch with the provided power adapter.

Does the switch require configuration?

No, the TLSF1008D is an unmanaged switch. It works immediately after connection: it automatically detects speeds and transmission modes.

What if the power LED does not light up?

Check that the power adapter is properly connected to the switch and to a working electrical outlet. Try another outlet if needed. If the problem persists, the adapter may be defective.

Can I mount the switch in a rack?

Yes, the TLSF1008D comes with mounting brackets. Attach them to each side of the switch using the provided screws, then screw the assembly into a 19-inch rack with suitable bolts (not included).

Is the switch compatible with Category 5 Ethernet cables?

Yes, it works with Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6 cables. For Gigabit (1000 Mbps), it is recommended to use at least Cat5e.

How to clean the switch?

First disconnect the power. Use a soft dry cloth to wipe the casing. Do not use chemicals or liquids.

What is the warranty of the TLSF1008D?

TP-Link offers a limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The exact duration is indicated on the product packaging. Keep your proof of purchase.

Can I use the switch outdoors?

No, the TLSF1008D is designed for indoor use only. Expose it to temperatures between 0 °C and 40 °C, and relative humidity from 10% to 90% non-condensing.

Are the ports auto-MDI/MDIX?

Yes, all ports automatically detect the cable type (straight or crossover). You can therefore use either one indifferently.

How to reset the switch?

The TLSF1008D has no reset button. Since it is unmanaged, there is no configuration to reset. In case of problems, unplug and replug the power.

Installation

- Tischmontage

- Desktop Installation

To install the device on the desktop, please follow the steps below:

1. Set the device on a flat surface strong enough to support the entire weight of the device with all fittings.
2. Remove the adhesive backing papers from the rubber feet.
3. Turnover the device and attach the supplied rubber feet to the recessed areas on the bottom at each corner of the device.

- Rack Installation

To install the device in a rack, follow the instructions described below:

1. Check the grounding and stability of the rack.
2. Secure the supplied rack-mounting brackets to each side of the device with supplied screws.

1. After the brackets are attached to the device, use suitable screws (not provided) to secure the brackets to the rack.

Connect an Ethernet port of the switch to the computer by RJ45 cable as the following figure shown.

- Power On

Plug the female connector of the provided power cord into the power socket of the device, and the male connector into a power outlet.
