How do I reset my TP-Link TLWPA4225 Powerline adapter?

Press and hold the Reset button with a pointed object (paperclip) for about 5 seconds until all LEDs turn off and then back on. The reset is then complete.

What should I do if I have no Internet access via the Powerline network?

Check that all adapters are on the same electrical circuit. Make sure the PLC LED is on (solid green). If it is off or red, re-pair the devices. Also check that the Ethernet cable is properly connected to the router and that your Internet connection works.

How do I copy the Wi-Fi settings from my router to the Powerline extender?

Place the extender near the router. Press the WPS button on the router, then within 2 minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second. The Wi-Fi LEDs flash and then stay on: the copy is successful.

Why is the PLC LED flashing red?

A red or flashing PLC LED indicates poor signal quality. Move the adapter to another power outlet, preferably on the same circuit. Avoid power strips and devices that cause interference (hair dryer, air conditioner).

Can I add multiple Powerline adapters to the same network?

Yes, you can add other compatible adapters by pairing them with the existing one. To do this, press the Pair button on the already connected adapter, then press it on the new one within 2 minutes.

What should I do if my extender does not reconnect after moving it?

Make sure the new outlet is on the same electrical circuit as the other adapters. Re-pair it if necessary. Keep it away from powerful electrical devices that may cause interference.

Is it possible to configure Wi-Fi without using the WPS button?

Yes, you can configure Wi-Fi via the extender's web interface or via the tpPLC app (available on iOS and Android). You can also manually copy the SSID and password from the router.

1. Connect the adapter to a LAN port of your router using an Ethernet cable.
2. Plug the powerline devices into the wall outlets near each other and on the same electrical circuit.
3. Pair the powerline devices.

A. Press the Pair button on the powerline adapter for 1 second. The Power LED starts blinking.

* If the Power LED does not blink, press the Pair button again.

B. Within 2 minutes, press the Pair button on the powerline extender for 1 second. The Power LED ⏻ starts blinking. When the Powerline LED turns on, it's done.

1. Relocate the powerline extender to a new location. Connect to the Wi-Fi using the SSID and password on the product label.

* A blinking or red Powerline LED 🔒 indicates poor signal strength. Move the extender to another location.

Tips: You can add more powerline devices to the existing powerline network by pairing these devices.

Attention

- Plug the powerline devices directly into the wall outlets but not the power strips.

- For passthrough powerline devices, plug the power strips into the integrated electrical sockets of the powerline devices.

Copy Wi-Fi Settings from Router to Extender

If your router supports WPS, you can follow the steps below to automatically copy the router's Wi-Fi settings (SSID and password) to the powerline extender.

1. Plug in the powerline extender near your router. Press the WPS button on your router.
2. Within 2 minutes, press the Wi-Fi button on the extender for 1 second.
3. When the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi LED and 5GHz Wi-Fi LED on the extender blink quickly for 3 seconds, and then stay on, it's done!

* 5GHz Wi-Fi is not available on single-band products. For multiple-band products, the powerline extender copies by default both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless settings at the same time. If it fails to copy both, your router may be only able to clone one band at a time. Please check your router's manual for support.

Note: The wireless settings can also be configured through the powerline extender's web interface or through the tpPLC app. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play, or simply scan the QR code.
