This electrical opener opens various sizes and types of can. In addition, with this appliance you also have a bottle opener, an electric knife and scissor sharpener, a handy storage space for the sharpener and a storage space for the cord. The appliance is easy to clean, thanks to the removable can opener handle.
! Safety instructions
General
- Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for future reference.
- Use this appliance solely in accordance with these instructions.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. - Have any repairs carried out solely by a qualified electrician. Never try to repair the appliance yourself.
Electricity and heat
- Make sure that the mains voltage is the same as that indicated on the type plate on the appliance before use.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket when the appliance is not in use.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling on the plug, not the power cord. - Regularly check the appliance's power cord to make sure it is not damaged. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Have a damaged power cord replaced by a qualified service department.
- Make sure that the appliance, the power cord or the plug do not come into contact with heat sources, such as a hot hob or naked flame.

Use
- Do not use this appliance to open any cans whose contents are pressurized.
- Do not use this appliance to open any cans with flammable contents, such as cigarette lighter fluid.
- Never use the appliance outdoors. • Never use the appliance in humid rooms.
- Place the appliance on a stable and flat surface where it cannot fall over.
- Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of the draining board, worktop or table.
• Make sure that your hands are dry when you touch the appliance, the power cord or the plug. - Avoid contact with the rotating parts of the appliance.
- Switch the appliance off before changing any parts or accessories.
- Do not touch the appliance if it has fallen into water. Remove the plug from the plug socket immediately. Do not use the appliance anymore.
- Only use accessories specifically intended for this appliance.
- Clean the appliance thoroughly after use (see 'Cleaning and maintenance').
• The appliance and its parts are dishwasher-proof unless stated otherwise.
• Never immerse the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water or any other liquid
• This appliance may not be used through an external timer or by means of a remote control.
Operation
General
The appliance is only intended for domestic use, not for professional use.

Using for the first time
- Take the appliance and the accessories out of the packaging and remove all the packaging materials.
- Clean the appliance before using it for the first time (see 'Cleaning and maintenance').

- Place the appliance on a stable and flat surface where it cannot fall over.
- Put the plug in the wall socket. If you are no longer using the appliance, remove the plug from the wall socket.
- Clean the appliance after use according to the instructions in 'Cleaning and maintenance'.
- Store the appliance.

- Place the can opener handle in the appliance by pushing the shaft of the handle into the hole with two grooves until the handle turns slightly clockwise and engages.

- Clean the top of the can to be opened.
- Position the can vertically under the handle against the appliance with the edge of the can on the drive wheel.
- Switch the appliance on by pushing the handle downwards.
- Hold the handle until the can has made a full turn and the top of the can has come free. The top is held by the handle magnet.
- Carefully allow the handle to raise and grasp the can immediately with your other hand.
- Place the can out of the way on a level surface.
- Remove the top of the can immediately from the magnet to prevent injury. Be careful of the sharp edges!
Note The appliance is suitable for cans with a diameter up to a max. 125mm.

Bestron BestronSharpening knives and scissors
- Remove the cover of the accessories storage compartment and remove the knife and scissor sharpener.
- Carefully press the stripes on the underside of the cover plate so that it comes free.
- Remove the cover plate and let it hang downwards.

- Position the knife and scissor sharpener with the shaft in the grooves of the hole and turn the sharpener a quarter turn clockwise until it clicks into position.
- The sharpener has two grooves, one for the left side and one for the right cutting side of the knife or scissors. Position a knife or a pair of scissors with the cutting edge downwards in a groove in the knife and scissor sharpener.
- Press the can opener handle inwards to operate the appliance.
- Move the knife or scissors slowly with the whole cutting edge through the groove.
- Release the handle again to stop the appliance.
- Remove any remaining metal shavings from the knife or scissors with a cloth.
Note Test the sharpness of the knife or scissor with a vegetable or a piece of fruit or something similar, but not with your hands.
Opening bottles
- Use the bottle opener to open bottles with a cap. Tilt the bottle against the bottle opener with the cap against the raised edge of the opener.
- Place your other hand on top of the appliance to keep it balanced.
- Remove the cap by tilting the bottle slightly upwards.

Cleaning and maintenance
- Ensure the plug has been removed from the wall socket.
- Remove the handle from the can opener. To do this, turn the handle anti-clockwise as far as possible and pull it carefully out of the appliance.
- Clean the appliance with a damp cloth and then dry it.
- Clean the can opener handle with a brush and soapy water.
Note The appliance and its parts are not dishwasher-proof.
Note You can stow the cord in the handy compartment at the rear of the appliance.

- When this product reaches the end of its useful life do not dispose of it by putting it in a dustbin; hand it in at a collection point for the reuse of electrical and electronic equipment. Please refer to the symbols on the product, the user's instructions or the packaging.
- The materials can be re-used as indicated. Your help in the re-use, recycling or other means of making use of old electrical equipment will make an important contribution to the protection of the environment.
- Contact your municipality for the address of the appropriate collection point in your neighbourhood.
Warranty terms
The importer guarantees the appliance against defects caused by manufacturing and/or material faults for 60 months from the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions.
- No charges will be made for labour costs or materials during the warranty period. Any repairs carried out during the warranty period do not extend the warranty period.
- The importer automatically becomes the owner of any faulty parts that he replaces or a faulty appliance (in the event of replacement of the appliance).
- All claims submitted under warranty must be accompanied by the original bill of sale.
- Claims under warranty must be submitted to the dealer where the appliance was purchased or to the importer.
- The warranty is issued solely to the first purchaser and cannot be transferred.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
a. Accidents, incorrect use, wear and/or neglect.
b. Faulty installation and/or use in a manner contravening the prevailing legal, technical or safety regulations.
c. Connection to a mains voltage other than the voltage specified on the type plate.
d. Unauthorized modifications.
e. Repairs carried out by third parties.
f. Careless transport, i.e. without suitable packaging materials or protection.
7. No claims may be made under this warranty for:
a. Losses incurred during transport.
b. The removal or changing of the appliance's serial number.
8. The guarantee does not cover power cords, lamps or glass parts.
9. No claims can be submitted under this warranty for damage other than the repair or replacement of faulty parts. The importer can never be held responsible for any consequential loss or damage or any other consequences, resulting either directly or indirectly from the appliance supplied by the importer.
10. In case of claims under guarantee you can contact your dealer where the appliance is purchased. Bestron offers you also the possibility to send the appliance directly to our Service Department. Do not send your appliance without consulting us. The package may be refused and any any costs will be for your account. Please contact the Service Department and they will tell you how to pack and send the appliance.
11. This appliance is not suitable for professional use.
