Frequently Asked Questions - APSRMSW Tripp Lite

What inverters/chargers are compatible with the APSRMSW remote?
The remote is compatible with Tripp Lite models APS1012SW, APS2012SW, APSX1012SW, and APSX2012SW.
What is the maximum distance between the remote and the inverter?
The maximum distance is 9.75 meters (32 feet) using the provided RJ45 communication cable.
How to install the APSRMSW remote?
Mount the remote on a flat surface using the provided screws and anchors. Connect the RJ45 cable to the communication port of the inverter/charger and to the remote.
What does the flashing of the 'Inverter' LED mean?
The flashing indicates that the inverter is in search mode, meaning it is scanning connected loads before supplying power.
When does the 'Inverter Condition' LED turn on?
This LED turns on when the internal temperature of the inverter exceeds the default setting. The inverter then shuts off automatically. Once cooled, press the ON/OFF button to restart.
What does the 'Battery Limits' LED mean?
It lights up when the battery voltage is too low or too high, indicating an abnormal condition that requires checking.
How to interpret the battery voltage LED bar?
This bar indicates the remaining capacity of the battery. The higher the number of lit LEDs, the more charged the battery.
Can I use the remote without the provided cable?
No, the RJ45 cable is required for communication and power to the remote. Use only the provided cable or a high-quality equivalent.
Does the remote function as a copy of the inverter's LEDs?
Yes, the remote's LEDs exactly mirror those of the inverter/charger. Refer to the inverter's manual for a detailed description.
What to do if the remote does not respond?
Check the RJ45 cable connection at both ends. Ensure the inverter/charger is powered on. If the problem persists, contact Tripp Lite support.
