2) Thermostatic controller
3) Heating level
4) Pivot function On/Off

Location and connection

Remove all packaging material and keep it out of reach of children. After removing the packaging, check whether the unit shows any damage or signs of faults/defects/malfunctions. If in doubt, do not use the unit but contact your dealer for inspection/replacement.

Choose a suitable location for the fan heater, at least one metre away from all obstacles, walls and combustible materials (see also the safety instructions).

Make sure that the fan heater is always placed on a stable, flat and level floor.

Check that the control knob is in the OFF position (O).

Unroll the connecting cable completely and insert the plug into a suitable 230 V socket. To avoid overloading, do not connect other appliances to the same circuit.

Commissioning and function

Turn the thermostat knob (left) clockwise until it reaches the maximum setting.

Start the fan heater by turning the function control to one of the three positions.

  • Summer mode (ventilation only): Turn on the switch (right).
Heating at half power: Turn the switch (right) to level I (1000W).
Heating at full power: Turn the switch (right) to level II (2000W).
  • Switch off: Turn the switch (right) to level O.
  • Pivot function: Press the on/off switch.

The indicator on the front now lights up. It is most economical to heat the room at full power and then switch to half power to regulate the temperature.

  • The fan runs at the same speed at half or full power; the difference is in the number of heating elements used.
  • When the desired temperature has been reached, slowly turn the thermostat control back until you hear a click. The temperature is now set.
  • The fan heater switches on and off automatically to regulate the set temperature. When it switches off, the signal light goes out. To set a higher or lower temperature, turn the thermostat control clockwise/counterclockwise respectively.
  • To switch off the fan heater, you must set the power control to OFF (O). The signal indicator goes out. The signal indicator therefore indicates that the fan heater is in operation, not whether it is connected to the mains or not.
  • Then pull the plug out of the socket.

Protective devices

The fan heater is equipped with a tilt safety device that switches the appliance off if it should fall over unexpectedly. If you set it up straight again afterwards, it will resume operation.

However, first switch off the appliance, remove the plug from the socket and check the fan heater for damage. Do not use it if it is damaged or does not function properly, but bring it in for inspection/repair.

NOTE

The overheating protection switches the fan heater off if the unit becomes too hot!

This can happen if the fan heater does not emit its heat sufficiently or cannot draw in enough fresh air. Usually, causes include (partial) covering of the fan heater, blockage of the intake and/or exhaust grille, dirt, placement too close to e.g. a wall, etc.

If the overheating protection switches the fan heater off, you must set the function control to OFF (O), disconnect the plug from the socket and give the fan heater a chance to cool down. Remedy the cause of the overheating before restarting the fan heater.

If you cannot find the cause of the overheating and the problem persists, stop using the fan heater and return it for inspection/repair.

Cleaning and maintenance

Keep the fan heater clean. Deposits of dust and dirt in the appliance are one of the most common causes of overheating. So remove them regularly. For cleaning or maintenance, switch off the fan heater, remove the plug from the socket and let the fan heater cool down.

  • Clean the outside of the unit regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh soaps, sprays, cleaning or scouring agents, wax, polishes or other chemical solutions.

  • Use the hoover to carefully remove dust and dirt from the grilles and check that the air inlets and outlets are clean. When cleaning, make sure that you do not touch or damage any internal parts.

  • The fan heater does not contain any other parts that require maintenance.

  • Put the fan heater away at the end of the season, if possible in its original packaging. Place it upright in a cool, dry and dust-free place.

  • If the appliance needs to be disposed of after its expected lifetime, it does not belong in household waste. Take it to your local authority's designated collection point for electrical equipment, where care will be taken to recycle any materials that can still be used.
