- Do not use this appliance near water.
- Never use the appliance with wet hands.
• The appliance must never be submerged in water and must not
become wet during cleaning.

Warning!
Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
- Never place the appliance on a damp surface or on a damp cloth when it is switched on.
- The plug must be removed from the socket after use when the appliance is used in a bathroom. The proximity of water presents a hazard even when appliance is switched off!
- Do not use the appliance for any other purpose than described in this manual.
- The voltage of the power source must be the same as specified on the appliance.

- Switch the appliance off if the drying process is interrupted.

The plug must be removed from the socket:

Never remove the plug by pulling on the cable.
- Never wind the cable around the appliance.

- the appliance has been dropped
- When the appliance is connected to the power, never leave it unattended.
- Wait until the appliance has cooled down before you store it.
- This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 up as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or with lacking experience and/ or knowledge, if these persons are supervised or have been instructed how to use the appliance in a safe way and have understood the hazards which could arise from using it. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.
- Packaging materials such as plastic bags must be kept out of the reach of children.
- Fitting an earth leakage circuit breaker
provides additional safety: the current in the circuit may exceed 30 mA. Consult your electrician.
- The appliance may present a hazard even when it is switched off. The plug must therefore be removed from the socket after use.
- If the cable is damaged it may be replaced only by an approved service point, for safety reasons.
- A damaged appliance must not be used.

- Never use flammable substances, e.g. hairspray, styling mousse etc., on your hair before using this appliance.
- The appliance may only be used on dry, natural hair. Do not use on artificial hair!
- The appliance must not come into contact with flammable materials. It must also not be used near flammable materials because the curling iron reaches temperatures of approx. 200°C.
- Never cover the curling iron with an object.

>Operating instructions
- Use a heat protection serum or spray before using the Carmen Chopstick Curler.
• Make sure your hair is dry before using the curling tong. - Brush to de-tangle your hair.
- Section the hair into small sections. The bigger the sections, the looser the curls.
- Place the curler near the roots of the section and wrap the hair around the curling tong from root to tip. Be careful not to touch the scalp.
- Hold your hair around the tong for 4-8 seconds, depending on your type of hair, and release.
- Never touch the hot barrel with your fingers except when you are wearing a heat resistant glove.
- Repeat the steps until all the hair is curled.
- Allow the hair to cool.
- Use your fingers to break up the curls and to create more volume.
- Enjoy your new look!

>Cleaning and maintenance
Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the mains before cleaning. Do not submerge it in water. Protect the appliance against dust.
Use a soft non-abrasive cloth that is slightly dampened with water to wipe styling barrel surface. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the handle of the iron.

Appropriate separation and disposal of the remaining materials helps recycling.
