USER MANUAL JC407 Joycare
Thanks for having chosen the JOYCARE electronic kitchen scale, an accurate tool for a daily use in your kitchen. In order to ensure the correct usage of the scale, it is advisable to read carefully this instruction manual. It is also advisable to save this manual for a future use.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Place the scale on a flat, stable surface.
Slide your hand along the right-hand side of the scales as shown in the picture below, or keep the "TARE" touch-sensitive button pressed.
The LED display will light up and the number 0 (zero) will appear after the welcome message "HELO".
Place the food onto the scale and the weight will then be displayed.
Tare/Weigh function
Switch on the scale.
To eliminate the weight of the bowl or any other container, place the item onto the weighing plate; press the TARE/ON/OFF button or slide your hand over it as explained above - the display will now show "0." Do this before placing the food on the weighing plate.
NB If the bowl or any other container is placed on the plate BEFORE switching on the scale, the scale automatically excludes this weight.
Negative tare
The tare weight is displayed as a negative number when all the weight (including the container) is removed from the scale. Press the TARE/ON/OFF button again to reset the scale.
ON/OFF
To switch the scale on or off press the TARE/ON/OFF touch-sensitive button and keep it pressed for about 2 seconds.
Auto-off
The scale automatically switches off if it is not used for about one minute.
Overload indicator
When the scale is overloaded (over 10kg), the display will show immediately remove the excess weight in order to avoid damaging the scale.
Low battery indicator
When the display shows the word "Lo", it means that the batteries are low. The supplied batteries are for trial use only and they may have a shorter life.
Replacing the batteries. Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the scale. Remove the old batteries and insert four 1.5V AAA batteries, in the direction shown.
Replace the compartment cover.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Place always the product on a flat and stable surface. Please clean the appliance with a damp and soft cloth avoiding any water seepage inside the scale. Do not use chemical detergents. Never deep the product into water. Avoid shaking, dropping or shocking the scale. This is a precision instrument and must be handled with care. Never try to repair the scale by yourself but always address to specialised centres; otherwise, the warranty will be not valid anymore. It is advisable to store the scale in a clean place. Dust, dirt, moisture, vibration, air currents, can all cause an adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of your scale.
When the unit is not used for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove battery, as their leaking can damage the appliance. When the scale is switched off, never place or lay any objects on it.
ATTENTION
Use this product only for its intended purpose, as described in this instruction manual such as an electronic scale for domestic use only. Any other use should be considered improper and dangerous. Packaging components (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children as they have the potential to be dangerous and their disposal should be carried out according to the current regulations. During the weighing procedure, food must come in contact only with special container, suitable for this purpose. These scales should not be used to weigh objects or substances in commercial transactions, to produce medicines, to calculate tolls, tariffs, taxes, premiums, fines, remunerations, indemnities or fees of a similar kind determined by weight.
The product is made conforming with all the applicable European regulations.
DISPOSAL
The device (including its removable parts and accessories) must not be disposed of together with municipal waste at the end of its life, but in compliance with European Directive 2002/96/EC. Since it must be handled separately from householdwaste, either carry it to a separately-collectedwaste disposal centre for electrical and electronic appliances or give it back to the retailer on purchasing a new device with the same purpose. Any infringement will be severely prosecuted.
The batteries used in this device must be disposed of in the special bins at the end of their life.

Joycare S.p.A., a company with a sole shareholder, offers a period of 3 year warranty after the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidental breakage, transportation, incorrect maintenance or cleaning, misuse, tampering or repairs carried out by non authorised third parties. The following is also excluded: damage caused by incorrect product installation, and damage caused by wear and tear, obviously including parts subject to wear and tear. In order to obtain the replacement/repair of products under warranty in cases other
than those mentioned above, but which are instead caused by manufacturing defects, please contact your local importer/distributor. Goods that are not held to be in good condition because of the aforesaid causes must be accompanied by this certificate, duly filled-in, as well as a receipt for the goods (invoices and transport documents) and purchasing documentation.
