USER MANUAL ETH 2000 EINHELL
Danger! When using the equipment, a few safety pre- cautions must be observed to avoid injuries and damage. Please read the complete operating instructions and safety regulations with due care. Keep this manual in a safe place, so that the in- formation is available at all times. If you give the equipment to any other person, hand over these operating instructions and safety regulations as well. We cannot accept any liability for damage or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow these instructions and the safety instructions. NOTE! The equipment has a topple cut-out. The topple cut-out makes a noise that can be heard if the equipment topples. This is not a fault.
1. Safety regulations
Danger! Read all safety regulations and instructions. Any errors made in following the safety regula- tions and instructions may result in an electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury. Keep all safety regulations and instructions in a safe place for future use.
Check that the equipment has been delivered in perfect condition. If it has suffered any da- mage, do not connect the equipment to the power supply.
Place the mains cable so that there is no dan- ger of tripping over the cable.
Do not pass the mains cable over hot parts of the equipment during operation.
Never use the mains cable to pull the power plug out of the socket-outlet! Never use the mains cable to carry the equipment or try to move the equipment by pulling the mains cable.
Never wind the mains cable around the fan heater.
Never jam the mains cable between objects, or pull the cable over sharp edges, or place the cable over hot plates or open flames.
Use the equipment in enclosed, dry areas only.
Do not use this heater in the immediate vicini- ty of a bath, shower or swimming pool.
Do not use the heater in a bathroom.
Never immerse the equipment in water – dan- ger of fatal accident!
Never use the equipment with wet hands.
Never open the equipment or touch live parts – danger of fatal accident!
Position the equipment in such a way that the mains plug is accessible at all times.
If the equipment is not used for a lengthy period of time, disconnect it from the mains supply.
Do not position the equipment directly below a socket.
If the equipment is used for a lengthy time the housing can become very hot. Position the equipment in such a way as to prevent acci- dental touching.
Never position the equipment on deep pile carpets.
Do not use the equipment in rooms in which inflammable materials (for example solvents, etc.) or gases are used or stored.
Keep highly inflammable substances and ga- ses away from the equipment.
Do not use in areas where there is a fire risk (for example wooden sheds).
Only use the heater with its mains lead fully extended.
Do not insert any foreign objects in the equipment’s openings – danger of electric shock and damage to the equipment.
Keep children and people on medication or under the influence of alcohol away from the equipment.
Warning: Do not cover the heater. If you fail to
observe this point, the heater may suffer from overheating. Risk of fire! Pay attention to the symbol on the equipment (Fig. 3).
Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by authorized trained personnel.
Check the mains lead at regular intervals for signs of defects or damage. A damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an elec- trician or ISC GmbH in compliance with the relevant regulations.
This equipment can be used by children of 8 years and older and by people with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or tho- se with no experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction in how to use the equipment safely and un- derstand the dangers which result from such use. Children are not allowed to play with the equipment. Unless supervised, children are not allowed to clean the equipment and carry out user-level maintenance work.

Children of 3 years and younger than 8 years are allowed to use the equipment only if they are supervised or have received instruction in how to use the equipment safely and understand the dangers which result from such use, provided that the equipment is positioned or installed in its normal place of use. Children of 3 years and younger than 8 years are not allowed to insert the plug into the socket, regulate the equipment, clean the equipment and/or perform the maintenance which a user is expected to perform.
Caution – Some parts of the product can become very hot and cause burns. Special care is required when children and persons in need of protection are present.
Caution: To prevent hazards arising from the unintentional resetting of the thermal cut-out, never connect the equipment to an external switching device such as a timer switch or to an electric circuit which is regularly switched on and off by a device.
2. Layout and items supplied
Open the packaging and take out the equip- ment with care.
Remove the packaging material and any packaging and/or transportation braces (if available).
Check to see if all items are supplied.
Inspect the equipment and accessories for transport damage.
If possible, please keep the packaging until the end of the guarantee period. Danger! The equipment and packaging material are not toys. Do not let children play with plastic bags, foils or small parts. There is a danger of swallowing or suff ocating!
Original operating instructions
The equipment is designed exclusively for use as an additional heater in dry, closed rooms. It is designed to be operated only when placed on the fl oor. The equipment is to be used only for its prescri- bed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or inju- ries of any kind caused as a result of this. Please note that our equipment has not been de- signed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.
5. Before starting the equipment
The equipment can be used indoors in a free standing position. Keep a minimum distance of 0,5 m between the housing and walls, com- bustible materials (furniture, curtains, etc.). The equipment may only be used completely mounted and standing vertically on a stable surface. It is prohibited to operate the equipment on an instab- le surface (e.g. on a bed). Important. Before using the equipment for the fi rst time, check that the voltage supply is the same as the voltage details set out on the rating plate. Read the safety regulations in section 1. When the equipment is used for the fi rst time or after a long period of rest it may emit an odor for a short time. This is not a fault. If the appliance topples during operation it will be turned off . After the equipment is stood upright again, it will restart immediately. Note: The topple cut-out makes a noise that can be heard if the equipment topples. This is not a fault.
Maximum heating output (Item D) Turn the control to “E” until the required room tem- perature has been reached. Then turn the control in the direction of “F” until you hear a clear click. The thermostat control will switch the radiator on and off automatically to maintain the room tem- perature at an almost constant level. However, this presupposes that the radiator has suffi cient output to cover the heating requirements for the room.
6.3 Overheating guard
In case of excessive heating the equipment will shut down automatically. If this occurs, turn off the equipment, disconnect the mains plug and wait a few minutes for the equipment to cool. After eli- minating the cause (e.g. a covered air grille), the equipment can be switched on again. If the overheating guard triggers repeatedly, please contact your customer service center (in Germany ISC GmbH).
7. Cleaning, maintenance and
ordering of spare parts
Before carrying out any cleaning and main- tenance work the equipment must be turned off, disconnected from the power supply and cooled down.
Use a damp cloth to clean the casing.
Remove dust pollution with a vacuum cleaner.
Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by an electrical servicing contrac- tor or ISC GmbH.
Check the mains lead at regular intervals for signs of defects or damage. A damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an elec- trician or ISC GmbH in compliance with the relevant regulations.
There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

8. Disposal and recycling
The equipment is supplied in packaging to pre- vent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offi ces.

If the equipment is operated properly you should experience no problems with malfunctions or faults. In the event of any malfunctions or faults, please check the following before you contact your customer services. For EU countries only Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse. To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot. Recycling alternative to the return request: As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations. This does not apply to any ac- cessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment. Warranty certifi cate Dear Customer, All of our products undergo strict quality checks to ensure that they reach you in perfect condition. In the unlikely event that your device develops a fault, please contact our service department at the address shown on this guarantee card. You can also contact us by telephone using the service number shown. Please note the following terms under which guarantee claims can be made:
1. These guarantee terms apply to consumers only, i.e. natural persons intending to use this product
neither for their commercial activities nor for any other self-employed activities. These warranty terms regulate additional warranty services, which the manufacturer mentioned below promises to buyers of its new products in addition to their statutory rights of guarantee. Your statutory guarantee claims are not aff ected by this guarantee. Our guarantee is free of charge to you.
2. The warranty services cover only defects due to material or manufacturing faults on a product which
you have bought from the manufacturer mentioned below and are limited to either the rectifi cation of said defects on the product or the replacement of the product, whichever we prefer. Please note that our devices are not designed for use in commercial, trade or professional applica- tions. A guarantee contract will not be created if the device has been used by commercial, trade or industrial business or has been exposed to similar stresses during the guarantee period.
3. The following are not covered by our guarantee:
- Damage to the device caused by a failure to follow the assembly instructions or due to incorrect installation, a failure to follow the operating instructions (for example connecting it to an incorrect mains voltage or current type) or a failure to follow the maintenance and safety instructions or by ex- posing the device to abnormal environmental conditions or by lack of care and maintenance. - Damage to the device caused by abuse or incorrect use (for example overloading the device or the use or unapproved tools or accessories), ingress of foreign bodies into the device (such as sand, stones or dust, transport damage), the use of force or damage caused by external forces (for ex- ample by dropping it). - Damage to the device or parts of the device caused by normal or natural wear or tear or by normal use of the device.
4. The guarantee is valid for a period of 24 months starting from the purchase date of the device. Gu-
arantee claims should be submitted before the end of the guarantee period within two weeks of the defect being noticed. No guarantee claims will be accepted after the end of the guarantee period. The original guarantee period remains applicable to the device even if repairs are carried out or parts are replaced. In such cases, the work performed or parts fi tted will not result in an extension of the guarantee period, and no new guarantee will become active for the work performed or parts fi tted. This also applies if an on-site service is used.
5. To make a claim under the guarantee, please register the defective device at: www.isc-gmbh.info.
Please keep your bill of purchase or other proof of purchase for the new device. Devices that are returned without proof of purchase or without a rating plate shall not be covered by the guarantee, because appropriate identifi cation will not be possible. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, then the item in question will either be repaired immediately and returned to you or we will send you a new replacement. Of course, we are also happy off er a chargeable repair service for any defects which are not covered by the scope of this guarantee or for units which are no longer covered.
