Frequently Asked Questions - WK 3559 CLATRONIC

How to descale the Clatronic WK 3559 kettle?
Use a descaling agent based on citric acid (not vinegar) following the indicated dosages. Boil the solution, let it sit, then rinse several times with clean water. Then boil 3 to 4 times of fresh water to remove residue.
Why does my kettle stop before the water boils?
This may be due to excessive limescale buildup on the heating element. Descale as indicated in the manual. If the problem persists, check that the power outlet is not overloaded.
How to clean the kettle filter?
Open the lid, remove the permanent filter located at the spout opening. Rinse it under running water and, if necessary, scrub it with a nylon brush. Replace it by guiding with the internal marks.
The kettle does not turn on, what to do?
First check that the plug is properly inserted and that the outlet works (test with another device). Also check the circuit breaker. If the appliance has run dry, let it cool for 15 minutes before trying again. If nothing works, contact customer service.
Can I heat other liquids than water?
No, this kettle is designed only for heating and boiling water. Using other liquids (milk, soup, etc.) may damage the appliance and pose a burn risk.
How to safely open the lid?
Always use the button on the handle to open the lid. Never open it while water is boiling to avoid splashes and burns.
What is the maximum and minimum water level?
The water level should be between the Min and Max marks visible on the level window. Do not exceed the Max line, otherwise water may overflow during boiling.
Can the kettle be used without filter?
No, the filter is essential to retain limescale particles. If you use the kettle without filter, the boiled water may contain deposits and the spout could clog.
How to store the power cord?
The base has a cable storage system. Wind the cable around the pegs provided under the base to prevent it from trailing.
What to do if the appliance does not stop after boiling?
Check that the lid is properly closed and the filter is correctly inserted. If the problem persists, the switch or sensor may be defective; contact customer service.
