Check that the voltage specification on the type plate corresponds to that of the energy supply.

  • The cooling device is not suitable for transporting caustic materials or materials containing solvents.
  • Never pull the plug out of the socket by the cable.
  • If the cooler is connected to the DC socket: Disconnect the cooler and other power consum- ing devices from the battery before connecting the quick charging device. If the cooler is con- nected to the DC socket: Disconnect the cooler or switch it off when you turn off the engine. Otherwise you may discharge the battery.

2.2 Operating the device safely

Do not touch exposed cables with your bare hands. This especially applies when operating the device with an AC mains power supply. CAUTION!

  • Before starting the device, ensure that the power supply line and the plug are dry. NOTICE!
  • Do not use electrical devices inside the cooler unless they are recommended by the manufac- turer for the purpose.
  • Do not place the device near naked flames or other heatsources (heaters, direct sunlight, gas ovens etc.).5
  • Danger of overheating! Ensure at all times that there is sufficient ventilation so that the heat that arises during operation does not build up. Make sure that the device is sufficiently far away from walls and other objects so that the air can circulate.
  • Ensure that the ventilation slots are not covered.
  • Do not fill the inner container with ice or fluid.
  • Never immerse the device in water.
  • Protect the device and the cable against heat and moisture. 3 INTENDED USE For ECOlux items with USB function, it only can be used in MAX. mode, in ECO mode the electricity will be cut off. The cooling device is suitable for cooling foodstuffs. The device is also able to heat using the additional heating feature. The device is designed for use with:
  • a DC vehicle electrics socket of a car (such as a cigarette lighter), boat or caravan (see voltage specification on the type plate)
  • a 230 V AC mains supply The appliance may also be used for camping use. The appliance shall not to be exposed to rain. CAUTION! Health hazard! If you wish to cool medicines, please check if the cooling capacity of the device is suitable for the medicine in question. 4 ACCESSORIES Available as accessory (not included in scope of delivery): Designation Description Y24 24/12 DC/DC converter for connecting 12-V cooling device to 24 V 5 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION The cooler is portable. It can cool items and keep them cool or heat items and keep them warm (with the additional heating feature) to max. 65 °C. Its cooling system is a non-wearing Peltier cooling, the heat is discharged by a fan.

5.1 Optional accessories

The device is available in different versions. The version you bought may have the following additional features: Heating The contents of your cooler can be warmed or kept warm to max. 65 °C. Priority circuit Models with a priority circuit have an integrated mains adapter. The device switches automatically to mains operation when it is connected to a 230 V AC mains supply even if the DC connection cable is still connected. ABS (activatable battery protection) An integrated battery monitor can be switched on to protect your vehicle battery from discharging to dan- gerously low levels.

5.2 Antibacterial eect

This product has been treated with a biocidal product (Silver-zinc-aluminum-boron phosphate-glass), which has an antibacterial effect.7

  • Food may only be stored in its original packaging or in suitable containers. NOTE
  • Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienicreasons (please also refer to the chapter “Cleaning and maintenance”on page 7.
  • A few water drops may form inside the cooler if it has been cooling for a lengthy period. This is normal because the moisture in the air condenses to water when the temperature in the cooler falls. The cooler is not defective. Wipe it out with a dry cloth if necessary.

6.1 Energy saving tips

  • Choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against direct sunlight.
  • Allow warm food to cool down first before placing it in the device to keep cool.
  • Do not open the cooling device more often than necessary.
  • Do not leave the cooler unit open for longer than necessary.
  • Remove individual drinks bottles through the bottle hatch, if present.

6.2 Using the cooler

NOTICE! Risk of damage

  • Ensure that the objects placed in the cooler are suitable for cooling or heating (with the ad- ditional heating feature) to the selected temperature.
  • Ensure that food or liquids in glass containers are not excessively refrigerated. Liquids expand when they freeze and can therefore destroy the glass containers.
  • Ensure that your cooler is well ventilated so that any heat created can dissipate. Otherwise proper functioning cannot be ensured. It is especially important not to cover the air vents. NOTE For coolers with fold in handles ➤ Place the cooler on a rm base. Please be aware that doing so you will not run on ECO mode. We advice that the ECO function is primarily used. ➤ Push the switch on the control panel to HOT or COLD to switch the cooler on. ✓ The indicators on the control panel show you the operating mode: INSTRUCTION7

6.3 Connecting to the cigarette lighter

NOTE If you connect the cooler to the cigarette lighter, remember that the ignition must be turned on to supply it with power.

7 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
