• STARTING UP THE APPLIANCE
Before you use the raclette pans for the first time, wash them with washing-up liquid and dry them.
To make sure that the natural stone slab remains free from stresses and to give the slab a uniform appearance in terms of colour, the following points must be observed:
■ Wash the natural stone slab under running water and dry well.
■ Apply heat-resistant oil (e.g. peanut oil) evenly over the dry slab.
■ Next heat up the natural stone slab in the oven for at least 40 minutes at 220 degrees.
- Your stone slab is now free from stresses and best prepared to create all of your grilling delights.
NOTE
The stone slab is a 100 percent natural product. It is normal for the stone to have slight cracks and this does not in any way impair its function. Cracks are therefore excluded from any warranty claims.
o The stone slab is preheated to the ideal grilling temperature after about 20 minutes.
- GRILLING
☐ Thermostat at maximum. Season the meat or fish and depending on the thickness, grill it for around 2 to 4 minutes on each side, then add salt. Sausages can be barbecued whole, but we do advise that you cut thick sausages into approx. 2 cm thick slices. Always use the wooden spatula supplied to turn the food on the grill. Tomatoes, fruit and vegetables can be cooking away at the same time in the raclette pans under the griddle.
• RACLETTE
When you start, turn the thermostat to maximum and then turn it down gradually. Cut the cheese into approx. 5 mm thick slices and place it in the raclette pans under the griddle. If there are additional pans, you can preheat or keep the cheese warm on the griddle. Season the raclette to your liking with paprika and pepper.
- CLEANING
○ Periodic cleaning of the raclette/grilling area
■ Always unplug the raclette grill and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- The pans and grilling plate may be cleaned using a nylon pad and a mild liquid soap solution.
■ Never use harsh abrasive or caustic cleansers on the non-stick surface.
○ Cleaning other parts of the raclette grill
■ Always unplug the raclette grill and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- To assure maximum safe operation, keep the unit free of grease and build-up of food particles.
■ Then you can clean it with water.
- DISPOSAL
- For proper disposal, please return device to a retailer, a service agent or Rotel AG.

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol appears on all products to remind owners of the obligations regarding separate waste collection. Owners should contact their local authorities or appliance dealers for further information concerning the correct disposal of household appliances.
