Frequently Asked Questions - Set Exact 70 Luvion

How to use the flexible tip thermometer?
Remove the cap, press the On/Off button. Wait for the display of 'Lo °C' or 'Lo °F'. Place the probe in the anus (1-2 cm) or under the armpit. The °C/°F symbol flashes then stops with a beep. For rectal temperature, measurement time is approximately 30 seconds; for axillary, 3 to 5 minutes.
How to interpret the beeps?
A continuous 10-second beep indicates normal temperature (< 37.8°C). Three series of beeps in 10 seconds indicate possible fever (≥ 37.8°C).
How to clean the thermometers?
Clean the flexible tip with warm water and mild soap or with liquid disinfectant. The pacifier can be cleaned with warm water and soap. Do not use boiling water, dishwasher or microwave.
When to replace the flexible tip thermometer battery?
Replace the LR41 battery when the display becomes dim or the low battery symbol appears. Open the compartment on top of the thermometer and insert a new battery.
Can the pacifier thermometer be used as a normal pacifier?
No, it should only be used as a thermometer. When the battery is depleted, discard the thermometer. Do not use it as a normal pacifier.
How to use the bath thermometer?
Activate it by tapping the bottom with your hand. Let it float in the bath water to measure temperature. The display shows 'COLD' if < 33°C. Between 36.5°C and 38°C, the temperature is comfortable. Above 39°C, the red LED flashes and 'HOT' appears.
What are normal temperatures for a baby?
Normal rectal temperature around 37°C (98.6°F). Normal axillary temperature around 36.7°C (98.1°F). For the bath, the ideal temperature is between 36.5°C and 38°C; for the room, around 18°C.
How to display the last measurement?
For the flexible tip thermometer, press the On/Off button: the last measurement appears with 'M' for 3 seconds. For the pacifier, press the button for 2 seconds.
What to do if the screen shows 'Lo' or 'Hi'?
'Lo' means temperature below 32.0°C (90°F). 'Hi' means temperature above 43.0°C (109.9°F) for the flexible tip or 43.9°C for the pacifier. Check the probe and measurement mode.
Does the thermometer turn off automatically?
Yes, the thermometers turn off automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity to save batteries. It is recommended to turn them off manually after each use.
