Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
» Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
» Only use the appliance in the way indicated in this instruction manual.
» Should you hand over the appliance to another user, make sure to hand over the instruction manual together with the appliance.
» Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the rating plate of the appliance.
» Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
» People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance without supervision or instructions of a responsible person.
» Close supervision is necessary if children are near the appliance in order to avoid that they use it as a toy.
» From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage but have it checked and repaired by a competent qualified service(*). Should the cord be damaged, it must be replaced by a competent qualified service (*).
» Make sure the power cord does not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.
» Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.

» Never use the appliance near hot surfaces. Do not stand the appliance on hot surfaces (e.g. a hot plate) or near a flame as a fire might occur.
» Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
» Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
» Always unplug the appliance from the power supply before cleaning or when the appliance is not in use.
» Never move or unplug the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
» Stand the appliance and its base on a table or flat surface to prevent it from falling.
» Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Always let the appliance cool down before filling, cleaning or storing it.
» Always unplug the appliance when not in use.
» Make sure the appliance does not come into contact with flammable materials such as curtains, clothes,... when using the appliance since a fire could break out. Never put the appliance on a hot surface or near a flame – the body of the appliance could melt down.
» For health reasons, only use drinking water and for the appliance to operate properly, use cold water. Do not use water coming from a bath, a washbasin or other container.
» Always fill between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark since the heating element might be damaged. Never fill the appliance above the maximum level.

» When using the appliance, make sure the lid is closed correctly.
» Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance. Always use the handle.
» ⚠️ CAUTION: In case you have overfilled the appliance, hot water might escape.
» Be careful not to get burned by the hot steam that evaporates when the water is boiling and especially when you open the lid.
» When descaling, use a product specifically made for that purpose that you find in the shops. Do not use ammonia or any other substance that could damage your health.
» Only use your appliance with the appropriate base.
(*) Competent qualified electrician: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this electrician.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Before first use or after descaling, it is necessary to boil water in the jug kettle and to pour it out (see paragraph "Use"). Repeat the process 3 times with fresh water. Then rinse with cold water.
USE
• Take the jug kettle from its base and open the lid of the water tank by putting a little pressure on the unlocking device.
- Fill the water tank with the desired amount of cold water (Picture A)
and make sure to fill it between the indicated minimum and maximum water level.

- Put the jug kettle back on its base (Picture B) and plug in the appliance.

- If you lift the jug kettle from its base when it is switched on, it will stay switched on and it will start heating again automatically when you put it back on its base!
⚠ Warning: Always use jug kettles with care. Steam or hot water may cause severe burnings.
SAFETY CUT-OUT
- This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device which switches the appliance off automatically if it is accidentally switched on without water.
- In this case, unplug the appliance and wait about 10 minutes. Then fill it with cold water.
- The kettle may then be used as usual.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
- To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Residues on the inside can be removed with a soft brush. Never use abrasive products.
- On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water or in any other liquid.
- When the lid is open, you can raise the particle filter to take it out, clean it and then slide it back into the foreseen notch (Picture D).

When scale becomes visible in the jug, you have to descale it. To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially for this purpose and available in shops, liquid descaling products or for the sake of environmental protection you can use vinegar.
When descaling, please pay attention to the following points:
- Pour water in the appliance, and add the descaling product afterwards.
- Make sure to dilute the product sufficiently. Please follow the instructions on the descaling product.
- When using vinegar, do not use more than 2-3 ml.
- Caution, the mixture might froth during heating.
• After descaling, rinse the appliance twice with fresh water.
GUARANTEE
Our products are covered by a guarantee of 2 years from date of purchase. This guarantee covers all material and manufacturing defects. No guarantee claims will be accepted for broken accessories, defects resulting from inappropriate use, excessive wear due to intensive use, wrong use due to the non-observance of the instruction manual, or failure to descale where appropriate or otherwise clean/maintain your item in line with the instructions and good practise. No guarantee claims will be accepted if the appliance has been modified or if some attempts have been made to repair the appliance. In such case, the vendor cannot be held responsible in case of accidents.
In the event of claim, in the first instance, please contact your vendor and return him your complete appliance. The guarantee will only be valid if the date of purchase and signature of the vendor is clearly indicated on the guarantee card or if a copy of the receipt is sent with the appliance that needs repair.
You can also send the clean appliance well packed and freight prepaid to our customer service with a short description of the default in capital letters with the mention „Repair under guarantee“ together with the guarantee card or receipt.
In case of a defective accessory, the complete appliance will not be exchanged, but only the accessory will be sent free of charge. In such case, do not return the complete appliance but only order the accessory! In case of glass damages, glass spare parts will be charged.
Pieces undergoing wear and tear (e.g.. Motor brushes, dough hooks, driving belts, spare remote controls, spare toothbrushes, lighting, etc.) as well as cleaning and maintenance or the exchange of worn out pieces are not covered by the guarantee and will thus be charged!
AFTER THE GUARANTEE PERIOD
Repairs after the guarantee period can be performed at a charge by a competent qualified technician or a repair service.
PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT - DIRECTIVE 2002/96/EC
In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the implication of both suppliers and users. For this reason, as indicated by the symbol on the rating label or on the packaging, your appliance should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. The user has the right to bring it to a municipal collection point performing waste recovery by means of reuse, recycling or use for other applications in accordance with the directive.
