- If you pass this appliance on to a third party, these operating instructions must also be handed over.
- Incorrect operation and handling can lead to malfunction of the appliance and injuries to the user.
- This appliance is neither suitable for commercial use nor for use in the open air.
- Before inserting the plug into the mains socket, please check that the current power supply comply with the specifications on the type plate.
- Disconnect the mains plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning.
- Parts of the appliance become hot during use. Therefore, the appliance must only be held by the handle. Avoid touching the metal parts as they become very hot.
- Do not immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids. There is a danger to life due to electric shock!
- Children are unable to recognize the hazards associated with incorrect handling of electrical appliances. Therefore, children should never use electric household appliances unsupervised.

Do not use the appliance if the mains cable or plug shows signs of damage, if the appliance has fallen on the floor or has otherwise been damaged. In such cases take the appliance to a specialist for checking and repair it necessarily.

Ensure that the mains cable is not hung over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and open flames.
- Place the appliance on a stable, level surface and not close to hot objects or open flames (e.g. hotplates).
- Never leave the appliance unattended during use.

Before using for the first time, please remove all the various packaging materials and wipe off the unit with a slightly dampened cloth.
OPERATION
- Plug the device into a properly installed mains socket (the power indicator lights up).
- The plate requires approx.2-3 minutes to warm up.
- When the desired temperature has been attained, the temperature indicator lights up.
- Now open the device, grease the baking plate and place the dough inside.
- The heating plates include a non-stick coating. This means it is not necessary to use a lot of grease for normal use.
- Now shut the lid, the baking process will last approx. 4-6 minutes (depending on the thickness and content of the dough).
- Now remove the cake with the help of wooden or heat resistant plastic spatula. Do not use any objects with sharp edges, to avoid damaging the coating!
- Unplug the device after use.
Note: During cooking the temperature indicator light cycles on and off to maintain the appliance at the correct temperature.
RECIPE
Basic recipe for popcakes
Ingredients for 48 pieces
• 190 grams all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 120 grams butter
• 225 grams sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 225 ml. milk
Beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Blend well. Grease the baking plate and fill each cooking reservoir with about 1 tablespoon of batter. Bake 4 to 5 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a popcake comes out clean.
Chocolate Popcakes
Ingredients for about 42 pieces
• 95 grams all-purpose flour
- 110 grams sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 14 teaspoon baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 60 ml buttermilk
• 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 egg
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
- 60 ml freshly brewed hot coffee
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg and vanilla. Using a mixer, blend until smooth. Add coffee and continue mixing until coffee is evenly incorporated into mixture. Grease the baking plate and fill each cooking reservoir with about 1 tablespoon of batter. Bake 4 to 5 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the popcakes comes out clean. Allow to cool and glaze or coat, as desired.
Red velvet popcakes
Ingredients for about 42 pieces
• 155 grams all-purpose flour
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- 60 grams butter, softened
• 165 grams sugar
• 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon red food coloring
- 125 ml buttermilk
- 12 teaspoon vinegar
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
Combine flour, salt and cocoa in a small bowl. Blend well and set aside. Using a mixer, beat butter
until creamy. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and blend well. In a separate bowl, whisk the red food coloring into the buttermilk. Alternately blend flour mixture, then buttermilk mixture into butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Combine the vinegar and baking soda in a small bowl and allow to fizz. Fold into cake batter. Grease the baking plate and fill each cooking reservoir with about 1 tablespoon of batter. Bake 4 to 5 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the popcakes comes out clean. Allow to cool and glaze or coat, as desired.
Lemon Popcakes
Ingredients for about 30 pieces
- 60 grams butter, softened
- 110 grams sugar
• 1 teaspoon lemon zest
• 1 egg - 12 teaspoon lemon extract
• 95 grams all-purpose flour - 12 teaspoon baking powder
- 14 teaspoon baking soda
- dash of salt
- 3 tablespoons milk
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in lemon zest, egg and lemon extract. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Combine milk and lemon juice. Alternately blend in flour mixture and milk mixture into butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Fold into cake batter. Grease the baking plate and fill each cooking reservoir with about 1 tablespoon of batter. Bake 4 to 5 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the popcakes comes out clean. Allow to cool and glaze or coat, as desired.
White chocolate glaze
Ingredients
• 170 grams white chocolate
• 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 40 grams butter, softened and cut into pieces
- 70 grams powdered sugar, sifted
- 12 teaspoon vanilla
Combine white chocolate and cream in a deep bowl. Microwave on high power for 1 minute. Stir, and add butter and microwave on high power for 30 seconds. Stir again. Microwave on high power for an additional 10 to 15 seconds if necessary for white chocolate and butter to melt. Blend in sugar and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Dip the popcakes in warm frosting dip. Microwave on high power for 10 to 15 seconds as needed to keep a glaze consistency.
Vanilla glaze
Ingredients
• 170 grams powdered sugar
- 60 grams melted butter
- 2 to 2 12 tablespoons hot water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine the melted butter with the powdered sugar, stirring until well blended. Stir in the vanilla.
Blend in two tablespoons of hot water and stir until smooth. Add a little of the remaining hot water, if needed, to make a frosting consistency.
CARE AND CLEANING
Before cleaning the appliance, always switch it off, disconnect it from the electricity supply and allow it to completely cool down.
- Do not allow stains to dry. Clean the appliance and the baking surfaces as soon as possible after use.
- The inner baking surfaces can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild washing-up liquid. Wipe the surfaces dry with a soft cloth.
- Do not use any wire wool, metal brushes, scourers or other hard objects to clean the appliance and the baking surfaces; these could scratch the appliance and its non-stick surfaces.
- Caution: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
