How to properly install the IntelliTherm C58 thermostat?

To install the thermostat, mount it at 1.5 meters height, away from heat sources, windows, and doors. Ensure the base is fixed flat against the wall. Make electrical connections by connecting terminals 1 and 2 to the heating system. Terminal 4 is free for other uses. Insert two AA alkaline batteries observing polarity. For more details, refer to the manual.

How to set the time and programming?

The time is set with dedicated buttons. Programming is done via the 24-hour dial divided into 30-minute segments. Press the color buttons (red for Comfort, blue for Economy, black for Off) to assign the temperature to each segment. The flashing segment changes color according to the selected temperature.

How to switch to summer mode for air conditioning?

Move the switch to the SUMMER position (sun symbol). The system prepares for air conditioning operation. The red segments of the dial indicate the on periods for the air conditioning system, other colors indicate off periods.

What to do if the screen shows a flashing battery symbol?

The flashing battery symbol indicates low battery charge. Replace both AA alkaline batteries with new ones within 15 days, otherwise the thermostat will turn off automatically and display "OFF". Replacement does not erase programs.

How to use the Boost function for a temporary temperature?

The Boost function allows temporarily overriding the automatic program for 1 to 240 hours. Press the button of the desired color (Comfort, Economy, or Off) to activate this temperature continuously. After the programmed time, it automatically returns to the automatic program.

How to view the minimum and maximum temperatures of the previous day?

Move the switch to the ECONOMY position to display the minimum temperature or to the COMFORT position for the maximum temperature. The screen then shows the temperature and the time it was measured. Then move the switch to PROG position to return.

How to reset the thermostat to factory settings?

Press the reset button (often marked RST) for a few seconds. All programs will be cancelled and the standard factory program restored.

What does the anti-freeze dip switch mean and how to use it?

The dip switch at the top allows programming anti-freeze protection at 5°C. In the UP position, the thermostat maintains a temperature of 5°C to protect the system from freezing. In the DOWN position, the system is completely off. This selection must be made during installation before inserting the batteries.

How to connect the thermostat to the heating system?

Connect terminals 1 and 2 to the heating system with two wires, replacing an existing thermostat. When temperature rises, the relay opens terminals 1-2 and closes 1-4. Terminal 4 is optional for signaling. Ensure installation is done by a professional.

Is the device compatible with an air conditioning system?

Yes, the thermostat has a summer/winter switch. In summer mode, it controls air conditioning: the red segments indicate cooling periods. Comfort and Economy temperatures are adjustable with the corresponding buttons.

Install the programmable thermostat at 1,5 meters above the floor level, far from kitchens, heat sources, windows and doors. Make sure the base is fixed to a level surface, without strains.

2 ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS

Connect terminals 1 - 2 to the heating system with two wires thus replacing the traditional thermostat at any time and without adding further connections. When the ambient temperature increases, the relay will open terminals 1 - 2 and will close terminals 1-4.

Terminal 4 is free and it may be used for signalling or other purposes, as required.

INSTALLATION

To separate the base from the frontal body, remove the battery cover and unscrew the screws, rotating the thermostat body downwards.

3 OFF MODE SELECTION

When in OFF mode, Intellitherm may be set to keep a fixed temperature of 5^ to protect the system from the risk of freezing.

This selection must be carried out during the installation and before inserting the batteries.

Note: if this selection is needed to be changed after the installation, Intellitherm has to be reset and reprogrammed.

Insert two long life AA 1,5V alkaline batteries, paying attention to the indicated polarity. Batteries last approximately 2 years: when they begin to run down, the battery symbol starts to flash on the display. If the batteries are not replaced within 15 days, Intellitherm C58 will switch-off automatically and the display will indicate OFF.

6 TIME SETTING (see the picture on the right)

To set the ANTIFREEZE 5^ protection move the dip switch HIGH.

To switch the system completely OFF, move the dip switch DOWN.

To insert batteries remove the cover pulling it frontaly

The program setting ring shows a 24-hours clock, divided into 30 min sectors.

The sector colour indicates the set temperature for that period.

COMFORT/TMAX keeps constantly the COMFORT temperature set with the TMAX keys.

Once the C58 is installed and connected, it is possible to use the weekly program with the pre-set operating time and temperatures, just positioning the switch on the A1 or A2 position.

It is possible to set the desired temperature pressing one of the three keys. The sector will change the colour and advance 30 minutes.

To move the switch without changing the temperature, use the keys

Move the switches to the A1 or A2 and PROG positions to start the program setting.

The display will show time 00.00 and DAY1.

On the programming ring the sector which the temperature has to be changed flashes and corresponding time appears.

Once the changes are finished, position the switch to start the heating or to start the air-conditioning

J O L L Y F U N C T I O N

With this function C58 enables you to cut out temporarily the automatic program at any time, without changing its settings, in order to have constantly the required temperature COMFORT - ECONOMY - OFF for a period from 1 to 240 hours.

With the switch in the A1 or A2 position, press the keys or or to set for how many hours the C58 has to cut the automatic program out, in order to force temporarily the temperature. The ring on the display will change the colour according to the selected temperature.

Once the set time is passed, C58 will resume the automatic program. To reduce or cut out the JOLLY period before the set time, press a different colour key than the one shown on the ring

ADVANCED FUNCTIONS

With C58 it is possible to know for how many hours the heating system worked the day before (closed relay - ON) and from the last Intellitherm initialization (last reset or battery insertion).

The display will show the heating working hours, positioning the switches as indicated in the picture.

PREVIOUS DAY MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES

With Intellitherm C58 it is possible to verify the MINIMUM and MAXIMUM temperatures reached the day before and what time they were measured.

Move the switch to the ECONOMY position to read the MINIMUM temperature or move to the COMFORT position to read the MAXIMUM temperature.

SUMMER / AIR-CONDITIONING MODE

Intellitherm C58 starts the AIR-CONDITIONING mode moving the switch to the SUMMER position. The COMFORT/TMAX temperature can be regulated pressing the red keys. The red sectors on the ring indicate what time the air-conditioning is ON; the other colours indicate when the system is OFF
