How to unlock the safe with the electronic lock?
Enter the 5-digit factory code (on the back of the manual) or your personal code, then turn the handle down within 4 seconds. If the door is difficult to open, hold the handle up while entering the code.
What if I forget my user code?
Use the 5-digit factory code (printed on the back of the owner's guide). This code cannot be deleted and always unlocks the safe.
How to add or delete a user code?
To add: press 'P', enter the factory code, then your new 5-digit code. To delete: press 'P', enter the factory code, then enter '00000'. The lock does not indicate deletion; test the code.
Why won't the door lock?
Check that the shipping security screws are removed (inside the door) and that there is no obstruction. Make sure the handle is in the horizontal position before locking.
What if the handle turns without opening the door?
You applied too much force: the handle 'clicked' to protect the bolts. Apply force in the opposite direction (lift) until it clicks back, then repeat the unlocking procedure.
How to change the keypad batteries?
Slide the battery tray on the side of the keypad. Insert 4 new AAA alkaline batteries (not rechargeable) and replace the tray. Use only new alkaline batteries.
The red light flashes 5 times, what should I do?
This is a keypad communication error. Contact customer service at 1-800-828-1438.
How to adjust the LED lighting duration?
To turn off: press '0', 'P', '3'. For 30 seconds: '0', 'P', '4'. For 60 seconds: '0', 'P', '5' (reduces battery life).
Can I bolt the safe to the floor?
Yes, use the provided bolting kit (for some models). Drill the slots at the bottom of the safe with an 11 mm drill bit, then anchor it to the floor with the lag bolts. Note: bolting voids water resistance.
What to do in case of fire?
The safe resists 1 hour at 927°C. If damaged by fire, contact SentrySafe for a warranty replacement, provided the product was registered within 30 days of purchase.
