- Be certain that the socket is protected by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker.

Only grasp the appliance by the handle.

WARNING
Risk of scalding due to escaping water vapour

Baking ice cream waffle cones
Proceed as follows:
- Close the cover.
- Put the mains plug into the socket.
- First set the temperature control (2) to a medium setting to find the desired level of browning. If needed, you may also change the temperature setting while baking.
- When the red indicator lamp (4) goes out and the green indicator lamp (3) lights up after a short while, the set baking temperature has been reached. Open the cover and place 1 - 2 tablespoons of batter carefully in the centre of the lower baking surface (6). About 2cm of the outer baking surface towards the edge should remain uncovered.
- Lightly press the cover onto the lower baking surface while closing. After a while, the green indicator lamp will go out and the red indicator lamp will light. The appliance is now in baking mode.
- After 1 - 2 minutes, briefly open the cover to see if the waffle cone has reached the desired degree of browning. If it is still too light, close the cover again and continue baking until the waffle cone is golden brown.
- When the waffle is done and while it is still hot, wrap it around the forming cone (5) as described in the chapter, Forming waffle cones (page 22).
- Now place the batter for the next ice cream waffle cone into the appliance and repeat the baking process until you have made the desired number of waffle cones.
- Unplug the mains plug from the socket once all the ice cream waffle cones have been baked.
Note: When beginning the baking process, it may take a little longer for the waffle cones to get done. Once the appliance has been in use for a while, the baking time will become shorter.
Forming waffle cones (figures A1-A4)
Proceed as follows:
- Lay the forming cone (5) onto the centre of the hot waffle.
- Using your finger (or a narrow spatula), push one half of the waffle cone over the forming cone. Hold the waffle firmly while doing so, as it may otherwise slide off the forming cone.
- Now rotate the forming cone to complete shaping of the waffle cone.
- Leave the forming cone in the shaped waffle until the waffle has cooled (only then will it be properly firm). In the meantime, you may already bake the next waffle.
You can also create waffle cups by shaping the waffles over a cup while they are still hot. Or you can create waffle rolls by rolling up the waffles on a level surface while they are still hot.
Recipe suggestion
Use the following ingredients for about 10 waffle cones:
- 50 ~g melted butter
100 g powdered sugar
180 ml milk
130 g flour
1 pkg. vanilla sugar
Proceed as follows:
- Gradually stir the powdered sugar into the melted butter.
- Then stir in the milk. Add the vanilla sugar and the flour and stir until the batter is smooth.
- Allow the batter to rest for 30 minutes.
